  1. I sure hope they wrote their own BW limiting since SolusVM broke that a month or so back and won’t commit a fix for it.

    • Actually there is a fix for it. I forced them to release it in beta a while back because I was having huge issues with abuse.

      • Yea, we simply stopped doing business with them and warn everyone to stay way the hell away from them.

You’re saying that you changed SolusVM code slightly, added some features and now you use nulled SolusVM as your own work? Not most ethical move from you Francisco Dias. My 2 cents.

      • We tried beta, which didn’t actually address this issue. When in beta did they release it? Perhaps they released it, then broke it in beta too?

        • You have to apply a manual fix after upgrading to the beta. Still I find it ridiculous that someone with so much control over the market of virtualization and its providers can ignore such a big issue.

If you need any more information feel free to email me.

        • We actually have already fixed the traffic shaping issue – but were not aware of how they fixed it in beta yet. According to the admins at solusvm (when we submitted a ticket), it *is* fixed in the beta 1.9 RC3, and they are actually rolling out 1.9 Stable tomorrow. There is a “traffic shaping” feature for the nodes that needs to be turned on to make the feature work as anticipated.

  2. Just to clarify about the firewall rules – we did away with those after some real critical thought. Any firewall rules are explicitly applied on the client VPS per the client’s own discretion, and not by us in any way.

    IPv6 and/or TUN/TAP?

    January 7, 2012 @ 2:23 pm | Reply
    • We are not currently setup for IPv6 – our datacenter does not support it on their routers yet (in production use anyway). We do provide TUN/TAP for VPS accounts upon request. Anyone wishing to use TUN/TAP is encouraged to open a ticket requesting the service be turned on, and we would glad to do so for you.

  4. Sorry! I just realized we never included our coupon code in our email with this package.

For any customer (new or current) who purchases this package (only this package), if you use the promotional code “10off2012” you will receive 10% off. That 10% only applies once per package, so it would be best to use it on the annual payment vs the monthly payment to get the best pricing. There is no limit on how many times you can use this promotional code, but it only applies toward new purchases.

Can I run a VPN on this? Want to occasionally access sites that require a USA IP address.

    • We support TUN/TAP, as well as allowing VPN setups. We do not setup VPN for you, but will enable the features that will allow you to use it on your server. Please feel free to open a ticket and request the service turned on for your account. There is no charge for VPN, TUN, TAP setups.

This host’s Terms of Service are scary, even as a legitimate user. The host can charge you over $100 for violations, such as spam. I wonder if this is part of the host’s business model.

The lowendbox post is outdated. They no longer do firewall white-listing, the servers are in Dallas, and I don’t know if the original offer is still valid.

The inexpensive VPS I purchased has performed perfectly.

    • Hello – In regards to the firewall, we never actually implemented that. It was an idea which fell through due to huge opposition from our clients. The mention of $100 for violations is only in relation to security breach recovery, and if you’re not operating illegal activities or compromising the security of our datacenter – it should not even concern you. This is more specific to criminal activities, not normal operation of a legitimate server.

Also, about 6 weeks ago we transitioned our servers to Dallas due to significant cost savings, which we could then pass down to our clients in the form of not raising our prices.

I hope we have addressed any concerns you might have, and are always open to feedback.

      Kind Regards
