Stripe checkout is the gateway payment option. Once you’re at their page you will be able to pay from the payment options listed above. Card payments with Apple/Google pay support, and Alipay

Are you interested in creating a custom plan to match other VPS providers? Have one that I would like to replace.

I purchased shared hosting from you (recently submitted ticket about adding new domain). Just wondering how flexible you are.

Is there a way to get Fedora 34+ ?

    February 4, 2022 @ 12:36 pm | Reply
    • David:

      No.

But you can run wireguard with native kernel support :) That’s quite unique for an OpenVZ 7 VPS, and it’s perfect if you need a personal VPN

By the way guys please read terms of service also. In short no abuse such as Monero mining, or internet sharing protocol that results.

Do you support reverse dns updates by the user? What about having open ports for email hosting, 465, 993, 25..etc by default? Some providers block those by default. I was looking to try and setup a docker based server with email hosting, nextcloud, wordpress…

    February 4, 2022 @ 9:03 pm | Reply
    • David:

      No to both actually.

Outgoing mailing ports are disabled to prevent abuse

      February 6, 2022 @ 8:54 am | Reply
      • David:

        Sadly yes.

I’ve done this because in the past I had people register, use it for mass mailing and get it blacklisted. Blocking port 25 etc is more of a way to not have to deal with abuse just like only accepting Credit Card with 3D secure, block orders from VPN is a way to get less abuse.

Incoming mail is still not blocked so you could set it up, and receive mail. When you would want to send mail you would have to use a relay such as mail channels.

        I can do that!

My only concern would be that the CPU usage would be too high. I “only” have 72 threads, but 768GB RAM on this server

More payment options please. Paypal, Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash. Tech Boomers use crypto too right? BCH is perfect for this with it’s fast transactions and low fees ;-)

Tell you what. As soon as we get Zcash support for BTCPay I’ll start accepting that. I want to accept a privacy coin only, plus I want it to be self hosted. That’s the whole point of crypto.

Previously I did accept crypto but had massive issues with people using it for illegal stuff. Forcing CC payments with 3d secure solved it. Any ideas on how to make it safe for the merchant?

Yeah. It couldn’t have come at a worse timing sadly. We’ve been migrating some of our VPS services to a different server and there has been a lot of problems. That’s why I haven’t been able to resolve any tickets.

  13. Boom.host Boom Boomer:

Hi, if you’re reading this because Boomer has another “deal” on LEB, I highly suggest you pass. This is not a business, it’s a hobby for “Boomer”. Meaning, he’s going to break stuff in production or not fully think through an implementation and deliver a misconfigured product then take his time to fix it (if he ever does). If you’re looking at the price and thinking you’re ok with that (I was) then go for it and learn the hard way that you’re just wasting your time troubleshooting or waiting for things to be fixed. It’s clear these machines are heavily oversold and unusable for advertised specs. He hides behind “someone must be abusing” or blames the vendors HE selected if something simple like replying to a ticket doesn’t work. Server load averages are so bad they self throttle the 500Mbit connection to 100Mbits. The server can barely handle a 2 user Jitsi call. Don’t believe me? Just go on his Discord and look at the chat history or hang out a few hours! You’ll see someone coming in daily complaining about the simplest thing (not being able to submit a ticket, control panel not working, VPS disappearing, IP’s not assigned, not being able to reboot/power own, horrendous SSH command input lag, etc.) Think I deserve what I get for paying $18? Well, sure, I thought LEB did some level of screening of sellers but clearly not. However, no one deserves false advertising and a half baked product regardless of price. Chances are Boomer will rebrand so keep an eye out for DFDB LLC. The “Boomer” name should have been a red flag for the immaturity of this provider, both the owner’s personality and how this company “operates”. Save your charitable contribution to someone that is actually doing what they advertise.

      Yo, what’s up!

I’ll respond to your statements truthfully

      >This is not a business, it’s a hobby for “Boomer”.

Well kind of. I allocate no more than 2 hours a day as is reflected in the price. Price is above everything else

      >he’s going to break stuff in production

I’m not going to willingly break things

      >It’s clear these machines are heavily oversold and unusable for advertised specs

It might seem like it, but it’s not that bad. It averages 100 Mbps on the internet port, and 50% CPU usage. The CPU usage never maxes out. Ram is indeed oversold to some extent. 1TB ram allocated while the server only has 768GB RAM. Though a free -m prints 308G available. Not to mention I’ve already put this offer out of stock as I consider the server full.

      >He hides behind “someone must be abusing” or blames the vendors HE selected if something simple like replying to a ticket doesn’t work.

I don’t offer ticket support, only emailing support. As for the abuse part, well, probably. I should implement IO limits like I had on my past offering, it was a lot more stable for everyone! While IO wait sits at 0.04-10 most of the time, it sometimes spikes higher when people are doing benchmarks.

      >Server load averages are so bad they self throttle the 500Mbit connection to 100Mbits.

Server loads are indeed very high. I believe it’s at 300 right now. It can go up to 1000 with an average of around 400. Though since its OpenVZ containers load average is reflected on the Host OS.

      >they self throttle the 500Mbit connection to 100Mbits.

That’s not true. But I know Data Ideas said one of their links was saturated. I don’t know if this is still the case but I haven’t noticed any issues. As for the server, it’s no way near its port capacity.

      >Just go on his Discord and look at the chat history or hang out a few hours! You’ll see someone coming in daily complaining about the simplest thing

I know right. They’re annoying as fuck. I think it’s 3 people constantly nagging on me instead of waiting their turn, such as the recent chat: I can’t ssh it when ssh is clearly working and I’ve told him so many times in a ticket.

      >not being able to reboot/power own,

That’s not true. The server status is cached with a 1-hour expiry. So while your server has changed status it will still show the old status until the cache flushes. I’ve done this because virtualizer was terribly slow.

Regardless the server is out of stock and will stay so for a very.. very long time. The stability should also increase over time as abusers are rooted out.

The issue is plainly that the VPS isn’t reliable. For the past few days now, I’ve been unable to reach my server via control panel or ssh.

Furthermore, all attempts at contacting support have been unsuccessful, with multiple emails remaining unanswered for several days.

I see a list of technical explanations and excuses in a reply above mine – that is all good and well – however, none of that was made clear before the point of sale.
