Gonna tell ya, you can’t go wrong here. I’ve have 1 OVZ and 2 KVMs and absolutely love the bandwidth, support, and stability. Consistent 36MB+/s to Seattle, San Jose and D.C., the disks are always spinning at 200MB+/s, if I had a site I cared about, (which I do), I’d put it on a Catalyst Host VPS. I’m closing in on one year as a customer with them, and haven’t regretted anything, well expect missing an offer.

        • We hope to be adding a second location end of the year. Also Incero is doing some pretty awesome route optimization. So stop by and check things out sometime, I know with test optimizations they have been able to cut ping in half to Brazil and significant improvements should happen tomorrow globally.

  4. Gotta love cloud-flare, I will look into this, however it seems to be working for some and not for others. I can see that I am able to make changes on the site as well as view site and what not. Even cleared my cache a few times. Hopefully others on here can share their results on accessing site.

The one linked in the article seems to have some special characters at the end making it a bit difficult for people to get to!

Good to hear that your not trying to be the cheapest out there – picked one up to try it out, and so far the Vm performs well, the control panel is quick and the network is pretty good – seems like a good value for a good product, thanks!

  13. It surely isn’t the first time he has called me fat. However last time he had some balls and didn’t do it anonymously. We are not the cheapest and as I have said before we do this do we can have a killer network that is not colo-crossing.

    • This is exactly the shit I am talking about. That is not me and I expect an apology. Not my fault someone else noticed your flaws. Like you said, I will say it in public, I dont need to hide.

      October 12, 2013 @ 12:17 pm | Reply
      • You are the ONLY person on ANY vps forum who has called Ryan fat. You commented something almost exactly like this on a blog I sold to shovenose a while back and he confirmed your IP for me on it. If this isn’t you, contact your friend aka the owner and have it removed in good faith. You can take my comments with it. I will not apologize for your shit. Funny you just happened across these comments so soon after I called you out.

        October 12, 2013 @ 12:22 pm | Reply
        • I was actually directed to it, I didnt come across it myself. I wouldnt be so surprised if it was actually one of you that posted it so you could then later blame it on me.

          October 12, 2013 @ 12:42 pm | Reply
        • Jarland:

Then please do delete that. It is neither productive nor informative. Chris knows very well that he has insulted Ryan in the past by calling him “fat.” He is around enough to know that no one else has ever called Ryan that on one of these forums. Chris also types in a mostly proper fashion when he insults. Good sentence structure, personal insults, very direct. The delivery and the choice of insult were clearly either Chris or meant to be misread as Chris.

  14. Howdy there!

While I appreciate being labeled as just a hired help I can definitely say that we’re not a one-man show.

I’ll just take this apart for a bit and help you understand where we’re coming from.

    Rubbish offer,
Well, the Merriam Webster dictionary states rubbish is “something that is worthless, unimportant, or of poor quality”. While I do apologize that you feel this way I believe this is relative. Relative means it’s from your point of view/perspective and that’s something I can’t change. I mean I can try and give you awesome reasons why but in the end it’s your call. Anyways sorry about that!

    far pricier than competitors,
Our business plan isn’t focused on being the cheapest kid on the block. We’re proud of what we offer and we designed it so that we’ll still be around years later while also providing exceptional quality service and product. It’s sustainable and fits our goals. So thanks, because that’s exactly what we were going for!

and you are a one man show with a bit of hired help.
Ehh, I stated above why we’re not a one-man show, but I consider myself more than just a bit of hired help. We’re not a one-man show. I promise!

Glad you got rid of that loser Jarland.
Something we can agree on! Kidding, Jarland’s a great guy and we wish him the best for him and his family! It was sad to see him go but he’s doing it to help support the kid he’s about to have. I’d say that makes him a genuine family guy!

You need to lose some weight Ryan and you look like a homeless bum in your picture.
See this is just you being upset over something (you’re not communicating with us what specifically you’re upset about so we can’t help you on that) and trying to be aggressive and hurting people’s feelings. The Urban Dictionary actually calls this a dick move! Now I’m not calling the Urban Dictionary a creditable source but it’s often correct and also is quite entertaining! Anyways I’ll get Ryan to get a haircut but besides for that you’re not communicating with me on what issue you have. So… Tell me!

You’re more than welcome to contact me directly at @catalysthost.com!

  16. Scotty:

Ryan, your AUP is a little vague on the issue of Torrents. You may like to both here, and there, clearly define it. The packages in question would be excellent for such a service.

    October 13, 2013 @ 7:52 am | Reply
    • We allow torrenting for legal downloads. Best I can say about this until TOS/AUP revised is similar to BigTim, don’t be a jerk. If we get abuse and DMCA notice we do act on those and can be reason for termination. At this point it’s on a case by case basis.

      October 13, 2013 @ 10:43 am | Reply
    • Howdy Scotty,

As long as the torrenting services is perfectly legal, doesn’t abuse the resources, and we don’t receive any DMCA notices we’re fine with it.

Basically, be reasonable, don’t be a dick.

      October 13, 2013 @ 10:45 am | Reply
      • Scotty:

Thank you gentlemen. I suppose the reason I asked was due to BuyVM’s recent change allowing torrents from US based IPs. They seemingly don’t use the magic word “legal” and because your two respective price points are very similar, yet you offer considerably more disk space, you could find yourself in a situation where people would obviously want to use your servers for this explicit purpose?

        October 13, 2013 @ 9:33 pm | Reply
        • Thanks for the feedback. Our stand is we don’t tolerate illegal downloads. So if you torrent and seed and get caught. You could face termination. This protects our other users as obviously downloading the wrong content could lead to legal issues. Rather not deal with all that jazz.
