As a resident of Portland, Oregon, offers based here always jump out at me.
There aren’t that many providers in Portland, really. There’s Directspace but I’ve never heard good things about them and when I tried them years ago I was not impressed (LowEndTrivia: our very own @Francisco briefly worked there!).
I think the paucity of providers is due to the city’s location between two network centers: Seattle and the Bay area. 15-20ms pings to Seattle are good enough for nearly everyone and there’s a zillion providers in both locations.
But I said “nearly everyone” and that’s not everyone. Maybe you need a zippier network experience, you like having a system in your backyard, or you just want some network diversity. If you’re interested in service in Portland, NextArray has an offer for you!
Dual E5-2670v2 (20-Cores)
64GB DDR3 RAM
1 x 1TB SSD
30TB/mo. on 1Gbps Uplink
Control Panel
10Tbps DDoS Protection
$59.90/month!
Code:PTLSPEC
This is at the Flexential DC in Hillsboro, OR, which I toured once and is a very nice facility. This offer is very competitive with Seattle and SF offers.
Details below. Tang from NextArray also sent us this art which delights me to no end.

Be careful: I ordered a VPS at NextArray. They sent me an unencrypted email with my login credentials including my password in plain text! Since they obviously don’t have a handle on basic IT security, I cancelled my VPS as a result. This is not possible online – they have deactivated the cancellation function.
Regardless of my cancellation, they keep charging my credit card. When I protested, I immediately received a refund – but the next month they charged me again.
I can only warn against NextArray. Their IT seems to be broken in several respects: security and accuracy of customer data. And the behavior is hostile to customers, too.
Hello,
We do not charge maliciously, we cannot cancel your PayPal subscription, you need to unsubscribe from
https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/autopay/
Interesting what you say. But not true. And it seems that I’m not the only one who encountered this problem: https://de.trustpilot.com/review/www.nextarray.com
It’s not Paypal, it’s credit card. You should just stop charging my credit card after termination of the contract. Just like every honest company does.
And refund my money.
Ah, and by the way: You should apologize for all the *** you have produced and repair your broken systems and procedures.
Hello,
Do you have an Email? Please send it to me and I will look into these things

Thank You!
Just have a look at Ticket #416336 and the other communication with me.
BTW, I would prefer if your colleagues who are in charge for this would do their job. It surely can’t be that one only gets one’s right (hopefully!) if one expresses oneself negatively in public.
Hello,
Regarding your comment viewpoint response:
1:Because I am only in sales, I do not have the authority or ability to handle any tickets unrelated to sales, that’s the reason.
“Why don’t you let your colleague reply to me?” Tickets are our only channel for problem resolution, rather than handling issues through LowEndTicket.
So why are you unwilling to submit a ticket to resolve the problem?
2:I think you should have seen the alert, otherwise you couldn’t have connected to the VPS

“No SSH Keys Selected
Adding an SSH key will help keep your server secure by allowing us to disable password authentication. If you don’t add one, we will enable password authentication and email you the root/admin password once the server has been built.”
“Are you sure you want to install the server without any SSH keys?”
Hello,
I would like to explain a few of your questions.
1: Credit card charges (I noticed that my colleague did not submit a cancellation request for your VPS, so that’s the reason.)
2: Password issue (We use VirtFusion as our management software. When you do not add an SSH Key, VirtFusion will send you an email containing the password. We can only give feedback to VirtFusion regarding this issue. In the meantime, you can use an SSH Key to solve this problem, as it provides good security for your account.)
Please allow me to make a few comments on your remarks:
Re 1:
(a) Not my fault.
(b) Wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t disabled the cancellation feature. So you have to make sure that you process cancellations manually.
(c) Proves that NextArray has systemic problems.
(d) Why wasn’t this remedied when I complained for the first time and got a refund?
(e) Why wasn’t this remedied when I complained for the second time?
(f) Why wasn’t this remedied when you identified the mistakes made at NextArray?
(g) Why wasn’t this remedied to date? I’m still waiting to get my money back.
Re 2:
(a) Not my fault.
(b) Proves that NextArray has systemic problems.
(c) There was no possibilty to provide an SSH key, and I wonder how I may log into the customer panel via SSH.
(d) My servers themselves of course always are configured to use public key SSH login. But a tank-proof entrance door is of no use if the patio door is open.
Still extremely disappointed, and I think that this thread should prove my warning to be well-founded.
Thanks for discussing this matter here. Nevertheless:
I refer to your comment July 11, 2023 @ 5:39 pm:
> So why are you unwilling to submit a ticket to resolve the problem?
I already provided you with a ticket number and you ask me why I am not willing to submit a ticket?
Okay, everybody, here you can clearly see how NextArray works. BTW, I did not get any response or refund by NextArray on my latest submission regarding this ticket.
How many tickets do you want me to open?
Why should I open further tickets if NextArray doesn’t care about any submission?
> 2:I think you should have seen the alert, otherwise you couldn’t have connected to the VPS
As mentioned, I am NOT talking about the server itself. As mentioned, I am of course using SSH keys. As mentioned, that doesn’t help if – as in the case of NextArray – the main door is closed and bulletproof (SSH via public key), but the patio door is wide open (customer control panel – that’s what I’m talking about here). Please read the thread again, my complaints are well-founded.
I fear I will have to file a complaint with the FTC and Mastercard as there seems to be no other solution. :-(
Important information to anyone considering contracting with NextArray: Not only is NextArray’s IT security and customer service broken, but so is their ticketing and/or email system. They use Microsoft’s outlook.com as their email server, but somewhere between the Microsoft email server and NextArray’s ticket system, some communication has disappeared (at least in my case). I received a DSN from the Microsoft server after all (with DKIM signature :-) ), so it’s clear that the error is somewhere in NextArray’s area of responsibility. As is the rest of the issues.
I seem to know now why they haven’t responded to my latest submission, which, however doesn’t make it any better as it again is an IT problem combined with a human mistake…
Hello,
Please contact us via ticket, I do not will not be dealt with in LEB!
