The above offer is a lot like the one they sent us before but there are certain changes here and there in the plans and pricing. According to Harry, they are ‘are heavily discounted compared to our normal offers’. You dont need any coupons to purchase these offers.

I have a storage VPS from CloudShards, for several months now. Great disk speeds, network is fast, performance is good for a backup VPS (I haven’t pushed it hard though) and most importantly, their support department is always helpful and quick to reply (less than 15 minutes to respond to tickets both times I’ve had to submit one).
The only problem that I have is that they’re using XFS for the node I’m on. This means that `df` doesn’t work, since it uses vzquota (which isn’t able to get info about XFS filesystems). As a result, disk usage isn’t displayed in SolusVM, and you have to use `du` to determine disk usage, which can take quite some time. It’s not a huge problem for me, and based on the response that I got from them when I asked about it, it seems that they’re probably using Ext4 on their newer nodes, which avoids this poblem (support said that the Ext4 tools available when the node was deployed couldn’t handle such large filesystems).
Which brings me to my next point… their staff is knowledgeable and they don’t dumb down their answers. When I originally asked about the disk usage not displaying, they could have very easily just said “It doesn’t work because of a technical limitation” or “Solus is broken, there’s nothing we can do about it”, but instead I got a full answer, explaining not only the problem, but why it does what it does, and why they set it up the way they did.
Overall, I’ve had a good experience with them, and would definitely recommend them.
Hi Nick, thanks for the positive feedback. Yes, newer versions of ext4 and its tools are available to handle systems >16TB however, when we deployed this they were immature for a production environment.
We’re revisiting this along with other options to improve the situation as we speak. Thanks again!
Just FYI, you messed up the tag. Should be “Los Angeles”, not “Los Angelles”.
Thanks, we’ve notified the lowendbox team to get this fixed.
Hi NickM,
could you please post some ioping stats? i’m going to order their la location immediately after their network migration.
How many times seen this template on different VPS hosting sites.. :)
Thanks for the feedback. We were one of the early adopters of this in communities we’ve been active on. After we adopted the design, others have followed. This has been noted by our team and we are working on an in-house redesign on the website at this point.
They hopefully concentrate more on service than design :)
As we have had a few sales inquiries over the hardware. These are all the latest Intel Xeon E3 on the OpenVZ plans with LSI hardware RAID + BBU. They are mostly Intel E3-1230v2 and E3-1270v2.
The RAID60 backups run on an older generation of Intel Xeon, but more than enough grunt for backups. They utilize LSI hardware RAID + BBU also.
I like CloudShards. I’ve had a storage plan with them for a few months now, and the performance has been top-notch, no downtime I can remember, and support was very helpful on the couple of instances I’ve needed them.
I use their backup VPS to store client accounts outside of our datacenter. I’ve always been happy and their service is wonderful.
