Cubichost.org has recently announced their offers on WHT, cheap OpenVZ VPS plans starting at $5/month, that gives you:
- 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
- 16GB storage
- 128GB/month data transfer
- 2 IP addresses
Cubichost.org has its domain registered for just a bit more than a month. According to their infrastructure page they have their DC in Miami FL. Instant activation. From owner’s Facebook page at least he has finished high school last year :)

I just stumbled upon this site and think its awesome! I’ve been wanting to get my own VPS but had minimal hardware requirements(mostly just going to do ssh tunneling and test python applications) and didn’t want to pay $40/month. So anyways I noticed there are a few $5 128MB memory offers, but was hoping that you could post your favorite $5 VPS because I have no clue which one to go with. Thank you!
Hey I was also wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to run an X-server and do X Forwarding with a 128MB(ram) VPS. Hopefully it is and hopefully someone could point me to an easy step by step tutorial. Thanks!
After some digging I noticed that this site is hosted on a vpslink.com VPS, so I figure if its good enough for this site, its good enough for me :)
VPSLink is good but I think it is a bit “pricy”. I’ll use it to host websites that you want to see good up time and consistent network throughput. I’ll probably find someone cheaper if it’s for personal VPN or proxy :)
Looks like CubicHost.org is down. Its NS are not resolvable (ns[12].fcphost.org owned by the same person). It’s old IP address with Colo4Jax is not responding either…
CubicHost.org is back again, with an IP address change + restore of service.
CubicHost.org has been down (IP not resolvable) since 7 November 2009, and it is still offline. According to this post on WHT I doubt it will be back soon. Marked as dead.
Edit: Well, it just came back online on 14 Nov 2009 after a whole week of outage.
Edit 2: Dead again since 20 Nov 2009.
