LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

Cyber Monday: Virtual Machine Solutions - 128MB OpenVZ $1/yr, 768MB KVM $6/yr and more!

We’re very excited about this exclusive offer submitted by Amir from Virmach.com! This Black Friday and Cyber Monday seems to be the first wave of deep discounts on big memory KVM plans, and Virmach’s offers certainly do not disappoint!

First, the typical run down, Virmach has been featured on Low End Box three times before, most recently in July 2016, where their offer was received with much positive attention. Amir and his team are active in the Low End Box and Low End Talk communities, which means they are always working to ensure customers are happy. The WHOIS for Virmach is public, they are a registered company (see here) and their terms of service can be reviewed here. Accepted payment methods include PayPal, Credit and Debit card and Bitcoin.

In their own words Virmach is worth your attention because:

VirMach is the perfect balance between affordable services and amazing quality. We use powerful nodes with RAID 10 solid state drives in 9 locations. Our OpenVZ servers are far from oversold, with most servers averaging at just 30% RAM usage, 20% CPU usage, and 15% of the network throughput being used at any given time. Should you opt in to go with our KVM line of plans, we offer Windows licensing absolutely free of charge. Speaking of free: our main location at Buffalo comes with free DDoS protection for everyone, and we provide amazing support at no extra charge with an average 3 hour response time. We guarantee 100% uptime, so in the rare event of a downtime, our system administrators are immediately informed by our system; day or night, they will immediately resolve the issue and provide you with a free week of service upon request, even if your service was only down for a few minutes.

There are a total of seven offers available, including OpenVZ for 99 cents per year (WOW!), 2GB KVM for $5/month and 8GB KVM for $10/month plus much more. Read more to get all the details, and don’t wait because these great offers will be gone before you know it.

I am a little surprised to find that there is no swap with these lower end plans (and I don’t mean the 128MB one)- I thought it was just an oversight. I went for the Elite+. I don’t expect to hit swap at all with my minimal tasks, but I’d be happy to give a gig of storage for some security. Suppose I can open a ticket and see.

    • Simon Oakes:

I’m guessing your probably using CentOS. Redhat distos are known to not be Low End Box friendly. Yum eats up an aweful lot of RAM (usully over 196MB) just for doing a quick update check. Your better off using Debian which can be ran in as little as 32MB RAM with some tweaks and is much more suitable for LEB especially if they have no swap.

      • WSS:

Actually, no, I’m running Debian minimal, and don’t use any CPU-and-RAM wasting config tools like Vesta (even if it does make life easier for many). I do, however, occasionally need to beat the box a little by doing a temporary mysql slave (with local flat file import), etc.. so I’d like to have that little bit of safety.

The main page has been popping back and forth for a couple hours, but the back-end services have been working just fine. I went for the “Elite+” $15/yr package, and my only complaint is that the server isn’t ntp’d, so the timestamp is a few minutes off, which is causing issues for me with time critical issues.

      November 29, 2016 @ 5:42 am | Reply
    • Ananya SAMP:

At the moment, they’ve replied to the ticket. I had issues with all SSL connections. I wanted to know if they install the ca-certificated package beforehand or not, since most hosts I’ve been with do(and they all pretty much provide all the basic stuff), so I opened up a support ticket to know what’s going on. They replied today morning (it’s evening now) telling me to install the ca-certificates package, since it might be the one causing problems, and if I’ve already done it, then they shall look into it once I provided them with a password.

Current scenario: When I saw the reply, I added another reply to the ticket telling them that I wanted to know if they had it all installed beforehand.

After this, when I try to login, I get a warning on Putty telling me that this is a new SHA fingerprint. So I ignored it and carried forward. Tried loggin in to root with my old root password, tried logging in after generating several new root password. Still locked out of the server. Not sure what happened. If someone re-installed the server without telling me, or what happened. I don’t know.

Also, since the case is still unclear, I’d recommend that no one should reach to a conclusion as to if they are good or bad, since the support staff seems nice. So I think we’ll know more about the situation as we move forward.

    • Ananya SAMP:

Well, a lot of things happened. I got the server re-installed, there seemed to have been a security issue, speed issue, I/O speed issue and what not. One thing that got me through it all and because of what I have no issues with stay with Virmach is their support. And it also seemed like one of their NY nodes were under attack and they were migrating that attack as well. It was the same time everything happened with me. So I think they were dealing with a lot and already had much on their plate.

In short, everything’s working just perfectly and smooth. Their staff is really helpful. Everything is resolved and I think that the timing just wasn’t perfect for this to happen. But right now, I’d give them a thumbs up and anyone willing to get a VPS from them can do it without thinking twice.

Just ordered “Elite+ OpenVZ @ $15/year” and I must say the setup is fast! Instantly I get all the details. IP is clean as well, latency is good. I choose CentOS 6 at the time of order but once in SolusVM, I was able to get choices from various OS’es (installed CentOS 7 afterwards).

Thank you for the offer and the service, cheers!

I’d like to order elite+ too, but unfortunatelly they are out of stock in in Frankfurt. So many US-locations to choose from, but not a single one in EU. That’s sad…

      • Frankfurt is back in stock for KVM. Sorry, but OpenVZ nodes have no IP addresses left at this time.

Need 30 servers on yearly subscription basis

I want thirty servers of type “$3 OpenVZ VPS” for yearly subscription (as listed on your site https://virmach.com/best-cheapest-linux-vps/). I’m willing to pay yearly cost upfront.

I checked your black friday deals page but most of the deals were for high end servers. So, since this is a big order of thirty openvz servers with yearly subscription, I would like to get some discount (since black friday and cyber monday were like 2 days ago). If bulk discount is possible, please reply back on i.amber.jain@gmail.com with details. I will place the order immediately.

Is the $1 128MB Openvs VPS still for sale? I can’t find it on the page and I am interested to get one. :)

    • The coupon has sold out, as it was limited to 200 quantities. The deal is still available at $5 per year, which is still lower than our regular packages on our website.

I’ve had a $3/year Virmach in Germany since April, and I’m using it for a DNS server, monitoring, and to store some backups. Working fine.

Have a little concern as to why Virmach, LLC has an INACTIVE business license. Purchased a Windows VPS anyway. Won’t put anything critical and pay month to month until I can hear a valid reason for the inactive status.

I bought an Elite+ earlier today. Opted for “Custom Operating System (Contact Support)”. Opened a ticket at 1:30pm EST. No response. It’s now 7 hours later, and still Pending. No Solus login details emailed. Nothing.

    • Custom Operating System will take some additional time versus instant provisioning if you select an available OS. I do apologize for the longer than usual wait time, as we had many new orders and tickets at the time.

Set up a server in germany, received login details and IP, so assume it’s set up – can’t log in to server (nothing at that IP accepting connections), can’t log into solus with the given credentials. Can log into control panel where it shows my service running – attempting to reboot/shutdown throws an error.

their so-called IPv6 is a joke. my vps assigned with ipv6 but it stuck at the gateway with destination unreachable reply. when asking technical support via ticket, their answer simply ‘their providers didn’t work on it’. just like that. so please remove the so-called ‘ipv6 where available’ in your advertisement because it is actually ‘not available’.

    • Alex:

Well, I’m in two minds about this. They’re aware that there are IPv6 issues in SEA and recently in FRA as well. So it’s probably not a good idea to advertise IPv6 in those locations.
But it’s true that they can hardly do anything about that on their own. They’re using Serverhub/Eonix’ network who are quite … relaxed regarding this issue. This is going on for more than two months now and they’ve not yet managed to fix it.

So who’s to blame… you decide.

      December 6, 2016 @ 9:14 pm | Reply
    • As Alex noted, Eonix has been having recurring issues with IPv6. We do still have IPv6 that works on certain servers. Then we have a set of servers where IPv6 is assigned but broken. Finally, the rest of our servers do not have IPv6 as they are with ColoCrossing. We did not mean to mislead anyone; we encourage everyone to ask “where available” if they do require IPv6. We also do apologize for the issues with IPv6, but we have no control over them. We have not expanded with Eonix in the past several months due to issues.

If you purchased and required IPv6 but did not receive it, we will honor a cancellation/refund. Please just create a ticket in the “Management” department if you’re past the refund period. Please do this soon.

ok, I know that this is not something that I really should worry about, but really you could think of better names for the servers.

    OpenVZ Linux VPS – Elite+ (LikelyWorst-VM)
Select Location: RAID 10 SSD – Piscataway, NJ (NYC)

That does not really inspire confidence in your services.

cheap… what do you expect? if they offer cheap product, then of course the support and after-sale service should be cheap. you can see no one from this company respond in this thread.

      December 8, 2016 @ 4:00 am | Reply
      • We respond to support tickets, with an average response time of 3 hours. We do not monitor LowEndBox 24/7 and stop responding after the first few days. Sometimes, we may check back and answer a couple of more questions. Anyone who posted and received no response, please do create a ticket if you already haven’t. In most cases, people create a ticket and also post here to grab some extra attention, but unfortunately that does not work as we usually do tickets in the order they’re created. All of the plans advertised here come with 100% full support, so you will receive superb support after your purchase. The only exception is that offers exclusive to the Buffalo location are not eligible for a migration to another location.

As for the names, they clearly do not represent our service. Sometimes people get some pretty humorous names since it’s randomly generated.
