Im a newbie to tech stuff so I don’t think I understand what’s going on here.

Here’s my story. Im currently looking for a new host for my adult themed blog (hosted on Godaddy Cpanel and using Joomla CMS). Hosting expires on the 2nd of February. I’ve looked around and strongly considering HostGator, but the deals posted here seem eye watering or should I say too good to pass.

My question is: what exactly is on offer here for a simpleton like me? I need hosting for my site which has an average of 15k visitors a day. Are any of these things on sale here good for me or I should stick with the traditional hosting companies like HostGator and GoDaddy?

I’m from London, in the United Kingdom.

    January 23, 2019 @ 8:52 pm | Reply
    • You should log onto your current cPanel hosted with GoDaddy and see how much disk space and bandwidth you need, and then choose a plan that can accommodate your requirement.

Just be careful, though, as some of these hosting providers are new and relatively unknown. If you decided to purchase a plan from them, please, please, please take thorough backups of your website and periodically check if the backup files are complete.

Majority of the offers at LowEndBox are only suitable for fun and practice only.
You should definitely avoid this hosting. You should not trust your traffic and your user’s data on a service which only lists an e-mail as their contact address.

      >average of 15k visitors a day
If each visitor only downloads a 10-20 MB of images you will be reaching the 5 TB traffic limit really fast.

      >adult themed
      Their terms forbids it anyway.

    • Hi SDD,

We are a privately owned hosting company, which means we do NOT have investors or stock holders to keep happy like the bigger guys out there do, so hence our services are much more personal and more fairly-priced for consumers when compared to hosts like HostGator.

Thank you for considering us and I’m sure you will be happy with what we have to offer!

      Regards,

Bought a cheap shared hosting plan. Was surprisingly pleased, not bad for the money. Servers run well with a low load average

Decided to buy a VPS to toy around with as well and will keep everyone posted with my experience :)

I bought a server here yesterday and have been playing around with setting up the server since then. SSH prompt is very responsive, and the support agents have always been quick to answer the few questions that I had.

I would recommend this provider :-).

3/4ths of the offerings here are all using ColoCrossing. They are all resellers of their service so IP’s will match, most of the packages will match and most of the underlying host software is the same. If you check the IP’s of most of the ‘providers’ here you will find they go to either the LA, Chicago or Buffalo ColoCrossing datacenters.

It’s been about a week since purchasing the KVM VPS-2. The VM performs very nicely, network performance is great. Only issue I have had is the Fedora template is corrupt, but they mounted an ISO so that was that. Still waiting on a billing correction, but nothing major.

I have ordered TWO VPS—all their IPs are blacklisted (am using for normal business setups) so email is useless. The support turn around is 12 hours AT BEST. Bad choice…

I’ve ordered a KVM to test. The speed overall was slow, so I cancelled right away and submit a ticket and asked for a refund. They escalated it and it’s been 4 days and no answer. Pretty bad experience, I’ll probably have to open a chargeback with my credit card issuer.

The stupid thing is they could have refund me the $25, if I open a chargeback, they’ll lose a $35 fees on top of what they own me in the dispute.

    Stay away from them.

Billing support is worse than tech support, very sad as the KVM-VM was decent. Paid and got nothing at this point.
