DedifyStack - Apache CloudStack Xen instances from €2.88/month in Nuremberg

DedifyStack

Charles, from DedifyStack, has sent in new offers for our community. The exclusive promotion gives 25% discount using the promo code LEB-GOES-DEDFIYSTACK, but now comes with more resources compared to their previous feature. Similarly, 10% additional funds will be added for each transaction to extend the credit balance.

WARNING! There have been a number of incidents surrounding DedifyStack recently. Their support department only responds occasionally to high-priority tickets in their abuse departments and customers are being charged for stored objects they (and DedifyStack) cannot seem to remove. Right now, it would be unsafe to trust DedifyStack for production or even non-production use until such time these issues have been taken care of. Order links have been removed.

Why pay too much for advance? If I need only 1-2 months? how about VAT? FileMedia charges VAT from everyone.

You are the fist one who charge for the set up fee for the credit in cloud servers area which I have ever known.
And don’t forget to renew the domain before its expiration date on September 20th.

Would be nice if they would fix services/ressources for existing customers first.

Well, dedifystack’s cloudstack is not as smooth as iwstack’s panel and i can’t create vm from clientarea. The performance is ok but i can’t comment on the stability.
BTW: their website says “Pay 21€ and get 30€ as credits. Discount code:GET-DEDIFYSTACK”

:| sign up to digital ocean > look at their billing method > learn what billing by the hour means.

I’d try it if the billing wasn’t potato.

Still charging VAT from non-EU customers…. clearly illegal.

No they don’t. I’ve got an account there under a registered EU business and I wasn’t charged VAT. Just open a ticket to ask them to remove the VAT and you should be good.

Hmm. They migrated away from their previous datacenter in Jena?

I’ve filed a ticket yesterday and 24 hours later there is no response yet. I’m not saying this is how their customer service works on average, but this is currently my only experience with their customer service.

The ticket is about the (seeming) inability to remove a private ISO from the CloudStack interface. I’m still being charged for the storage, but unable to remove it. I do not have any machines running, making it even more curios.

In former days, when Filemedia was Filemedia, they offered very decent service. Service was very good, and support was able to fix issues within finite time.
During the last months the quality of their service dropped terribily. I had three of their former CloudVMs in Nuremberg (Hetzner) and Frankfurt (23media, great location). At the end the VMs did not respond most of the time, even SSH wasn’t possible most of the time. All due to the probably worst HDD I/O I’ve ever seen. I mean, even a SSH or SMTP connect timed out after 60 seconds due to I/O wait!
I myself wasn’t satisfied with the support quality after they sold/moved/whatever their business. Had to wait several days for a response and finally they just told me that I would have too high I/O requirements and that they won’t be able to upgrade their storage during the next months. I really do not have any I/O intense services running on that machines (bind slaves, postfix, nginx and squid cache with about 100MB cache and 100GB traffic per month). Normally my servers idle with load avg <0.25. With filemedia I had no luck in the end. And I had to cancel all three VMs.
Just to keep in mind that this doesn't really have much to do with former Filemedia.

I create 2 servers (linux and Windows) on Dedify.com on May or June and the first month was good, but next I have troubles every month. DNS issues, payments issues, servers instablility issues and so on. Someone in Filmedia’s Twitter answer quickly then official support that get answer 1 time in a few days.
Now I want to moving out from Dedify but can’t get all data from servers because they inaccessible 3rd day…
This is the worst hosting of all that I’ve met.
