Who doesn’t need more storage? MOAR!
Whether it’s for roll-your-own cloud storage, backups from home, backups for your VPS, some massive database or object storage, or a million other things, storage VPSes are always in demand. They’re less expensive than dedicated servers stuffed with drives, and a lot of time if all you’re doing is streaming bytes, you don’t need all the horsepower that a dedicated server costs. It’s DIY storage nirvana.
DediRock is ready to scratch your itch! They’ve launched another round of Storage Wars and pricing is absolutely amazing. For less than a third of what you’d pay Google or Microsoft for a feature-limited 1TB, you get a server with lots of space that you can tweak and configure to your liking.

Last fall I purchased a 2TB storage server on the east coast and a small VPS in LA with DediRock. Over the next couple of months, they twice lost all my data on the storage server, claiming disk failures, and once on the LA system. Two totally different locations on different servers, with multiple full data loss.
Their support department was poor, and the only way I received support was by directly emailing DediRock on lowendtalk. After the third data loss, Danny recommended that I accept a refund, as he said: …at this time I am not the best host for you…
I lost a huge amount of time with DediRock. I have two other storage servers that cost a bit more, but they have been rock solid.
Hello Eric,
I’m sorry about the experience, man. I can say that over the past six months we have experienced a lot of growth, and I have definitely had to overcome some challenges and learn many new things. Unfortunately, that does mean I made some mistakes, but I have really learned from them, created new policies to help with that, and improved where I needed to.
As far as a refund, I just think it’s best to refund a customer if we missed the mark, and then maybe in the future we can earn their business again. Thanks for giving us a try, and maybe in the future we can work together again.
Thanks!
Danny
Really like my VPS’s with DediRock, they really have unbeatable value!
Hello Pinhead!
Awesome man, thank you very much for the review!
Danny
On 12/25/25, I ordered one of their “Storage Promo Plus BF 2025” VPS plans. I accidentally ordered two of these and immediately canceled the second order within 15 minutes of realizing my mistake. Despite requesting a refund in my cancellation request, I never received a refund and eventually just accepted it as my own ordering error.
Fast forward two months, and I received this email:
We want to sincerely apologize for the recent downtime affecting your server. One of the disks in the array experienced a failure and is currently being replaced.
All storage arrays are configured in RAID-5, and we do not expect any data loss. The replacement process is actively underway, and we are working to restore full stability as quickly as possible.
Then, not even two days later, while my VPS was still down, I received this update:
We wanted to provide a direct update regarding the recent server incident.
Unfortunately, this was a rare hardware event where a hard drive failed and shortly thereafter the RAID controller card also failed. While extremely uncommon, the combined failure has resulted in data loss on this system.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disruption this has caused. Our team is actively working on the situation, and we will begin sending out new VM details starting tomorrow to get everyone back online as quickly as possible.
I then reached out to support to explain that I was not interested in migrating to a new VM after experiencing a complete data loss. The response I received was:
Hello jeff,
We’ve noticed that you may not be satisfied with the performance of your current VPS. As a solution, we can terminate your current VPS and assign a new one on a different node. However, it’s important to note that this action will result in data loss and will change your IP address.
At this point, it was frustrating to see that not only was my data already lost, but support didn’t seem to realize the data had been completely lost already. I’m done with this host. I’ve had bad luck with LEB hosting providers, and I think it’s best for me to avoid them going forward.
They flat out refused to give any refunds AVOID
Hey Jeff,
I am very sorry about this experience. We did unfortunately have a node failure, which was a unique situation. Even though it was RAID 5, the disk went down, and then shortly thereafter the RAID card went down as well. I do apologize for that. I did look at your account Jeff. I only see one ticket requesting a refund, and that was posted 2/23/2026 2 months after you have had both servers? Feel free to email danny@dedirock.com more than happy to help get refund on the extra one. We did go ahead and close your account at your request.
Sorry again for the expirence but we are here to help.
Danny
Thanks
