LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

eNS Cloud - $18.75/3 Months 512MB VMWare VPS Exclusive Offer

Updated December 2011 — Both eNetSouth.com and eNSCloud.com stopped resolving since 11 November 2011. It has been confirmed that Brandon has done a runner.

eNS Cloud Brandon from eNetSouth Cloud emailed me about their new exclusive offers for LowEndBox readers. This is a 5 day only sale — from Friday 19 Nov to Wednesday 24 Nov. Here is the sign up link, and the cost is either $18.75/3 months (~$6.25/month) or $34.50/6 months (~$5.75/month).

  • 512MB memory
  • 20GB storage
  • 1500GB/month data transfer
  • VMWare

Note that this promotion applies to Linux only, i.e. can’t use it for Windoze servers. You can also choose between Chicago IL or San Jose CA. From their past offers they seem to be providing quite a solid VMWare-based solution, although support can be a bit slow sometimes. According to Brandon they did have “fraud signup nightmare” last month.

If you rather have monthly billing, their previous offer is still available — $6.95 for 400MB VMWare VPS.

  1. I had no issues with their support. Think I’ve submitted 4 tickets and all were answered within 10mins – which is super fast.

Pulled trigger on second VPS with them! :)

  2. Support was pretty poor. I didn’t get any replies what so ever. but saying that the platform was super.

    Side note:
Horrible upload for some reason from TPG AU but great pings?

I grabbed one to try it out, signup was a little different. You create your account and billing info for the vm you want then after the account is created you use the cp to create the vm instance.

Just waiting on mine to be provisioned.

I’ve had no issue with the vps since and always been up. So far a happy customer.

The only problem I find with eNS Cloud is you have to create one account for every VPS.
This offer doesn’t look particularly good, basically extra 112MB memory but much less bandwidth.

Otherwise I find eNS Cloud quite fast and the uptime is very good.

Does this offer still require a paypal subscription? A few of my friends are interested.

Who would want to use Windoze on a 512MB VPS. What a waste of RAM, you will only get 100mb of RAM to play with.

Windows 2003 run fine with even 256MB memory. The official specification states the minimum of 128MB only. The two eNS Cloud VPS I have worked very well with 400MB memory, with 2 users logged in remotely and plenty to spare.

Pushing enough inactive proces to swap (whatever you call it) and there should be over 400MB available on a 512MB VPS

Really? When I signed up with Virpus, mine was instantly activated.

        • Snape:

I have the double misfortune of having previously been a Virpus customer, briefly, then a TeamVPS customer when they were acquired by Virpus. Some of the TeamVPS hardware died, including the node I was on, and I was promised either a migration (when (==if) the TeamVPS hardware was recovered) or a fresh install on a Virpus machine. Despite my submitting several tickets, neither has happened after three months…

So, you know, from the damning-with-faint-praise department: Virpus: Recommended More Than Leaseweb. :D

          November 23, 2010 @ 1:10 am | Reply
        • Steve:

Yeah, lots of people have had bad experiences with Virpus, including myself. It took them a whole month to fix a hardware issue with a node I was on. Actually, they didn’t fix it, they scrapped it and got a new node. I cancelled my account within 2 weeks of the hardware problems.

I only signed up with them again for the $32/year 512 MB promotion. VPS has been pretty solid this time around.

Anyway, finally got my eNS Cloud VPS after 28 hours. Pretty happy with it so far. Very quick, responsive, and low latency to the UK.

Though, I submitted a pre-sales ticket around 30 hours ago, and still haven’t got a reply. Sent in a normal support request asking the same question now. Also, I’m unable to access vSphere.

  10. Just signed up for 6-months. Looking forward to it. It will be my first vmware based VPS. 14. I got destroyed last month with scammers. I spent two days straight without sleep (maybe 3 days it’s all a blur) trying to figure out who was real people signing up and who were the bad guys. While at the same time everyone is after me fighting mad because they don’t have their server yet. The customer does not want to hear why you don’t have their sever ready. They have in good faith paid you so give them the product. So after remembering that deal and getting that notice from PayPal I’m thinking “Here it goes again” ..

I get to ticked off giving everyone 100% and see you posting on here that we have ignored you for four days but we really just cant go chasing this down and support all of you. I owe more than half my business to LowEndBox and I’ve tried to maintain a relationship with everyone on here.. If that gets ruined thats not good for me.

Just to show that I have no hard feelings If you want the server let me know and I will build it and send you the info. Send me a PayPal payment whenever you feel like it.

  19. Hi all. I have deleted some comments as requested by “Gsip”, but left this comment from Brandon in tact to provide some context.

    In summary,

    • eNS Cloud was swarmed by fraud orders from their last promotion, and they are getting strict on who they will take on as customers.
    • Brandon is over-worked.
    • PayPal can be problematic to work with.
    • If you ordered and after many days still not activated, then your order is probably makred fraud and Brandon does not want to touch them.
    • Many people have their accounts activated but still waiting on support (to provide vCenter access for example).

  33. Amitesh,

What I find funny is that you are on here trying to make it look like you were ignored for 16 days. We were in discussion on that from time to time. You make posts on here that are incorrect and go out of your way to slam me. Also, I found it ironic there was usage on the VPS up to yesterday when I powered it off — several days after the bill date. Then to top it off you go off the wall during a posted support holiday (which was posted for over a month) not giving me a chance to do anything about it. So at one time I would have worked something out for you. Now I am a little less apt to do so. So if you want to quit acting like this and man up and email me I will be happy to speak with you. Otherwise I do not see where we have anything else to discuss.

Brandon is legit! + they do not oversell, great support, if u ur looking for a vps http://www.enscloud.com are great for the price, i really have nothing bad to say about them, they would be my first choice above any other hosting website, i have tried a couple others, all decent named providers only to find that the connection would timeout or lagout to 999ms every 2 minute due to overselling, never had 1 problem with enscloud. no downtime at all, have been with them almost a month and the only downtime is when i restart the vps or reinstall the system. And i have only used 1% of my bandwidth (1000gb) lol. im only paying $10 a month and i see providers out there wanting like $30 – $50 a month for almost the same thing. maybe they offer an extra ip, but u can always buy another if u need.

    enscloud all the way!,

ps. that old saying you pay for what you get, well doesnt really apply here, you pay hardly anything and get great performance and reliability as well as fast internet speed

    1gb file download, speed test.

    80,964,944 10.1M/s eta 1m 51s
    167,742,008 10.5M/s eta 1m 37s

it usually sits around 8mbps, though that is downloading from the same country, if i was to download from Europe it would be slower of course. Downloading 1gb in 2minutes is pretty fast.

All the best searching for the best vps provider, though these guys are legit so atleast take a look.

Also if u order unmanaged dont pester them to help u set it up for your needs, its unmanaged for a reason.
google is your friend =] he is certainly mine. xD i was a linux noobie before buying a vps, now i can do everything i need to without googling.

just have to add, about the unmanaged vps plans most providers will help you with general questions and problems anyway but just dont ask them to much as it unmanaged, + they are easy to setup, just install webmin and ur already half way there

Support is non-existent according to my experience.

vSphere web access never worked – I opened a (low priority) ticket 2.5 month ago that is still unanswered.

A week ago the virtual machine stopped answering on the net (no ping, no ssh, enscloud’s router reporting “no route to host”. I opened a (high priority) ticket about the server and another about the vSphere problem. Both are still unanswered, and the virtuel machine is still unreachable.

So I am now looking for another VPS hosting service. Enscloud has failed completely to deliver on its promises.
