Servers with Tailor Made Servers in Dallas TX (test IP: 72.9.144.4). Domain registered in August 2010. There is actually not much info on WHT — no offers no reviews. It’s usually a bad sign, as the community there would have done their due diligence to check up legality of the shop. My suspicion last time was that they were under-18 high schoolers, as first few results when you search “Shayan Mohanty Plano” on Google brings up this bright student getting 2nd place in a science award. Anyway, “John” (from last post) did his own research concluding they are probably both over 18 thus can enter legal binding contracts.

Still, not much info can be found about this hosting shop. They might be the next hottest hosting startup, or might be in deadpool in a year time.

At least they have removed this stupid “NS1 prefix” and “NS2 prefix” thing from their order form. +1 for that.
I always wonder why so many hosts never bother to do this – it is like 5 minutes of work max.

    • Because many providers provide both shared and (semi)dedicated services. It has to be in there for shared. We’ve talked about it a couple of times before.

Actually I don’t think it even has to be in there for shared. I don’t have it on mine.

The better question is to ask why a provider hasn’t modified whatever ordering system they use to fit their system. How many hosts don;t even put a link back to their main site? Quite a few….

I thought ns1/ns2/domain were removable on a per product basis for whmcs?

Nope there is no such option in whmcs, to remove it you have to edit the orderfrom template. @drmike – one could always clone the orderfrom template, then edit the cloned one and use different orderform templates for different products (i.e. just add &carttpl= to the “order now” links for different products). Rarely a customer would order both shared hosting and VPS in the same order.

        • Are they removable? If they are, that even makes it worse when you see them. I don’t use WHMCS so I couldn’t tell you how it really works.

  3. Signed up with an account, activation was quick and Cachefly says 11.0MB/s in 9.3s for the 100mb speed test. Hardware is very decent on benchmarks.

I’ve got to say, these guys (or kids, whichever applies) are doing a top notch job. I just got off live chat with Shayan, and I’ve got to say – whether or not he’s a kid is irrelevant at this point. The fact of the matter is that I received some of the best customer support I’ve ever gotten, and he definitely knows his stuff. He was willing to go above and beyond to make a package that fit my needs, and he outlined my options very clearly. He even saved me a bit of money with his suggestions.

Now, I just got on the vps itself, and everything’s running smoothly. Of course, I don’t expect any errors on the first day itself, but as the previous poster said – the box itself is excellent. I’ll post here if anything comes up with the vps. I went with the Evo1024 package, by the way.

  5. I’ve had their Evo512 VPS with them for almost 5 months now; using it as a additional server for our DNS cluster and running cPanel DNS Only server. They have beastly servers so speed and hardware are both excellent. I’ve never had any unplanned downtime.

I tested speed of the hard drives and got 300+ m/sec consistently.

  7. I would also like to announce that we have a 1GB VPS special going on right now, exclusively for WHT members – however, I am extending that to everyone.
