farnoX VPS Exclusive offer: 1GB VPS for €2.50/month

Hello all! Fynn from farnox.net has sent over a pretty nice offer and we’re excited to be sharing another new provider with everyone. As always, please do some research before buying and if you do decide to buy, feel free to leave initial impressions in the comments.

Farnox was founded in 2013 in Germany, registration number: HRB 12198. Their WHOIS is public, and you can view their legal docs here, and their ToS here.

Payment methods accepted are major credit cards and PayPal.

In their own words:

“We’re a German company, founded in 2013. We operate our own colocation in a data center in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (routing via AS197071). We own all our physical servers and do not rent anything. We developed our own VPS management software (so we’re neither using WHMCS nor SolusVM) build on top of the KVM hypervisor. All our virtual servers (we call them CloudServer) can be deployed in less than a minute (actually less than 20 seconds) on SSD-only physical nodes. All CloudServers are billed per hour. Customers can spin up as many servers as they like and delete them whenever they like. For example: five 1GB ram VPS from our normal offerings (€5 per month) for 5 hours only cost 18 cents.”

    • It’s fair use. Don’t use the full connection 24/7 and don’t use the server just for downloads. Where did you get the info about 100 GB?

    €2.50/month (2,71 USD)
    €35.88/year

This is the first time I see monthly payment cheaper, than yearly (2.5*12=30)…

I placed an order, was 27,60 for year, emailed support, they’ll fix up the rates.

I could not try it, because this german company having colo-center in Germany does not allow registering users from Austria and Germany. Strange rules…

I’m from Norway, but it doesn’t seem to be available on your registration form’s country list (even though Sweden and Denmark are both there). How come?

    Bought CloudServer 2048MB (KVM) today.

So far so good. Network works very decent with full gigabit speed and cpu works well too.
Support is very fast too (via e-mail)

    Happy customer so far.

I ordered from them today CloudServer 2048MB and I am quite happy with it. It is cheaper than the current provider I am using (also in Germany, datacenter is also in Frankfurt) and overall performance and price is much better.

Despite this, I was amazed with their quick and helpful support answering on Sundays!

All in all, everything is great so far.

  6. What is the meaning of fair use if I cannot use the connection 24/7.how can I run the website.

OP mentioned “don’t use the full connection 24/7”
A website will not use a full gb connection. Unless it has extreme traffic.

I just bought CloudServer 2048MB and so far am very satisfied. Given the price range, server performance is superb. Host is using AMD CPU clocked at 3.5GHz and that shows. `encode-flac` single-core benchmark from phoronix-test-suite gave me 12.48 seconds (whereas popular among other low-end providers Atom C2750 does this test in around 27 seconds). Disk speed is just like what you’d expect from HDD:

      # hdparm -Tt /dev/vda

      /dev/vda:
      Timing cached reads: 7476 MB in 2.00 seconds = 3742.26 MB/sec
      Timing buffered disk reads: 100 MB in 3.10 seconds = 32.23 MB/sec

I didn’t do any more in-depth benchmarks, as that could potentially disrupt other customer’s services.

Oh, and support assured me that even though these ‘legacy’ servers aren’t available directly through their panel, they aren’t going away in foreseeable future.

I bought a VPS 3 hours ago and i’ve got no reply back, not even a mail confirming the order.

Would not recommend them based on this experience.

Their claim “can be deployed in less than a minute (actually less than 20 seconds)” is a blatant lie. Really glad i didn’t spent any money on them so far.

    Cheers

    • It’s not a lie. This claim applies to our current SSD-based offerings and is true. This is offer is sold out now and we don’t accept any new orders.
