OVH, one of the largest hosting providers in the world, suffered a runaway fire at their SBG datacenter in Strasbourg, France.
We have a major incident on SBG2. The fire declared in the building. Firefighters were immediately on the scene but could not control the fire in SBG2. The whole site has been isolated which impacts all services in SGB1-4. We recommend to activate your Disaster Recovery Plan.

According to further updates, SBG2 is completely destroyed and SBG1 is partly out of commission. No impact to SBG3 and SBG4, but as part of firefighting efforts, power has been shut down to the entire site so users are facing an extended outage and won’t be restarted today. Fortunately, no injuries are reported.
Reuters has pictures of the blaze.
OVH has 17 data centers in France and 32 worldwide.

“at their SBG datacenter in Strasbourg, Germany.”
Is it not in France?
Sorry but since the end of WWII Strasburg is NOT Germany any more.
Sorry gang – story corrected. The first report I read said Germany but SBG* is definitely in France.
