FlipperHost - $5.75 512MB OpenVZ VPS in Orlando

FlipperHost I was asked by Cenk from FlipperHost earlier this month to post his updated plans — they do seem to update them each and every month! The “VPS Standard” from the last blog post has grown — to $5.75/month. Same sign up link here. The spec is also a bit different now, and it has

  • 512MB memory
  • 50GB storage
  • 450GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

I can’t say that the plan change actually makes it better. Burstable memory is not mentioned so likely you can also only allocate 512MB. You get less monthly data, and pay a bit more. Servers are still with HostDime in Orlando FL (test IP: 66.7.200.165). They have also added Arabic as one of the language they are providing support for, along side English, Chinese and Turkish. Turkey-based business with office in Indiana US. Domain registered since 2009.

Maybe they’re the first host you’ve gotten trained since that’s your own limit as to how quickly you’ll list hosts?

    • I don’t think LEBadmin has that criteria of updating only, It seems there are many different aspects of an offering and the company which is offering, (such as the plans and the desire towards those plans at the time of the month which he recieves the requests) for him to consider and decide which offers gets a priority.

      • I think you may be missing the point of what I was saying. LEA has stated a couple of times now that he will only list a single provider once within a 30 day period. Unfortunately he’s also stated that many providers don’t understand that and email him day after day trying to get a listing. If you’re emailing every 30 days, that may mean you’re paying attention to what he’s saying as you’re following his own rules.

And LEA has updated posts in the past although it’s usually been for errors and the like.

        • :) Well yes I guess I have misunderstood what you wrote there somehow in this case. I believe that the way it is happening (listing) is reasonable. It is kind of nonsense to think that a host will get listed if he emailed 5 times instead of 1, it is just like to assume that what you say would be understood better if you were shouting. It is just common sense to mail once and let the decision taker to decide, specially if you know that he has no obligation at all to list you.

        • Not a biggie.

Too be honest, I wish LEA would list those providers giving him a hard time with multiple emails. That way we know not to use them. :)

      • Actually there is a bit of “smart” there changing the plan so it looks different from last time. There has been quite a few incidents where a provider emailed me right after 30 days to promote their previous offer again. I took a look and saw nothing much has changed, and just archived the email away.

Even with 30 days, I probably won’t post the offers again unless it’s something interesting.
