This year, both Western (Catholic) Easter and Orthodox Easter fall on April 20, 2025. This is not all that unusual – it happens every few years.
In the West, Easter is calculated as
the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox on the Gregorian calendar
In the Orthodox community, it’s calculated as
the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the Julian March 21, and always after Jewish Passover
Today, these two dates align, so no matter where you are in the world, we wish you happy Easter!
