I’ve basically got the 4GB plan a month ago. My experience so far has been constant shutdowns.
ssh sessions would be painfully slow at times. One day I had to boot it every few minutes when all I was doing was pulling files off. So while I paid for a year I only got about 1/2 a month worth of use out of it. I’m afraid to use it again because unless I’m constantly monitoring it for shutdowns.
In short these VPS’s are oversold and unstable.
You’re right. My vps is constantly getting SHUTDOWN. No notice, nothing.
And they simply blame “your vps under high load hence our script shut it down”.
My vps not even running anything other than a simple WordPress blog. Visitors per day less than…50.
Anyone want to buy a vps which will be shutdown anytime by the will of provider, no notice and you will take all the bs blame are welcome.
Quite sad to see LEB promote something like this these days.
(1) Can you add 30xIPv6 or 50xIPv6 free ?
(2) MAIL-Servers need WHITELISTED IP-address & correct PTR/RDNS/return-value setup, to send emails into INBOX or else sent emails are either totally REJECTED or placed into SPAM/TRASH folder by email receiving MAIL-Servers . A VPS “SERVER” MUST SETUP CORRECT PTR/RDNS/Return-VALUE FOR IP-ADDRESS & MUST ASSIGN WHITELISTED IP-ADDRESS OR MUST ASSIST TO REMOVE BLACKLIST-STATUS FROM THE BLACKLISTED-IP-ADDRESS.
Do you set PTR/RDNS/return-value via support-ticket ? or Can your VPS-management-panel allows to completely setup PTR/RDNS/return-value ?
(3) i’m taking you assign at-least 1xIPv4 for your above offers. If your assigned (primary) IP is BLACKLISTED ( marked/shown by any one of the Blacklist(BL) Database Group/Company listed here: https://www.dnsbl.info/dnsbl-database-check.php ) then:
(3a) Do you issue a new WHITELISTED IPv4 ? or (3b) Do you communicate-with (and submit BL-removal-form or email to) EACH of the BLACKLIST-DATABASE group to remove each of the blacklisted IP ? or (3c) Do you only allot/assign (Blacklisted)-IP-address AS-IS & you leave all related steps+decisions on the User/Client to either Stay-with you or Leave/cancel-account ?
Again, without a WHITELISTED IP-address & CORRECT PTR/RDNS/RETURN-VALUE, a VPS is NOT-USABLE as a MAIL-SERVER, So such “VPS” is a CRIPPLED-VPS, not actually a VPS.
NOTES:
By the way, VPS-provider must setup correct RDNS return/answer-value (with either the VPS hostname under user’s/client’s own domain-name or the MAIL-server’s hostname under user’s/client’s own domain-name) for the VPS (primary) IP-address, before sending any email-request into blacklist-database group (or before submit any web-form to request removal of IP-address from blacklist-database). And within 1 or 2 or 3 days time-period, there should not be more than single request for blacklist-removal for same IP-address, (this processing time-period vary+depends on which Blacklist-Database group it is).
VPS-providers can keep their IP-address WHITELISTED in advance : 1st assign it a RDNS similar to “unassigned.vps-name-example.com” (not the default RDNS from AUTHORITY, which includes IP-address-numbers & AUTHORITY domain-name) and then Send blacklist removal-request to each of the blacklist-database group, and keep the IP-address frozen from any further use, and wait until it is removed from all blacklist-database(s). When a IP-address is assigned back to a new user/client then it’s PTR/RDNS/RETURN-VALUE must be IMMEDIATELY changed (with TTL value of 6 hours initially) & setup the RDNS/return-value into same as VPS-hostname when purchase order was placed (or setup the RDNS-return-value into the MAIL-server’s hostname when new user/client requests for it, or when MAIL-server-app’s hostname is different than the VPS-hostname), & correct RDNS-return-value also clearly indicates who is the new user of that IP-address and who is it assigned-to and who is responsible for all the activities done thru the uses of it. If IP-address is not-used for sending any SPAM emails (or not-used for MALWARE-sending/hosting) purpose for 1 to 3 years then such IP-address usually gets auto-removed from blacklist, or usually will be removed from blacklist very-quickly after submitting a (single) removal-request. So VPS-providers should not re-use (assign) a IP-address back until 1 to 3 years has passed, if IP-address has been marked as Blacklisted once. The PTR/RDNS DNS-record’s TTL-value should be set into 6-hours initially, then within 6 to maximum 12 hours any new change will take-effect.
My ticket was answered by HostedSimply, Shane said:
it includes 1xIP4, CLEAN-IP.
does not provide IPv6.
they setup rDNS (not thru control-panel)
Basically I have exactly the same experience as Jason, buyer beware this is not somewhere you want to loose your money.
My servers are constantly offline, I purchased 13 VPS(s) with this mob and have had to write it off as a life lesson “if it looks too good to be true it proabbaly is…..”
you are right, my vps every day gone down 3-4 times, every day every day
dont use it
OVERSOLD ??? No outages, just too many slowdowns.
