Hi Roilan! Great deals! I put the coupon code into the box, and when I do, it says “promo code entered but no items qualify – please check promotional terms”. It shows a Recurring Discount in the shopping cart. I just wanted to see if this is how it should be. I’m trying to get the OVZ-256mb package.

I’m a first time customer, if it matters. I haven’t registered yet.

Thanks a lot for the help!

      • Did you make sure you added 256MB as annual and not monthly. If you’re still having issues, send me an email roilans @ k9vps.com

I couldn’t find any description of the underlying hardware on your site, could you describe the typical node? There’s a considerable difference between an E3 and an E5…

with a speedtest from the LA Datacenter to San Jose. The DL was about 300-600Mbps and the upload was 7Mbps-60Mbps Though the average number i would get was around 20Mbps across around 50 tests.

This was the only screen i had captured. This is to another datacenter within LA.

I’m a few days in on a new VPS with them. Not a huge selection of images, but the important ones (CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu) are there and when one was missing Roilan got it added in no time. I haven’t run any benchmarks, but anecdotally it seems a little less responsive than my VPSes with other hosts – but at these prices I’m quite happy with the bang for my buck and I’ll probably move more servers over to them over the next few weeks. Overall it’s been great!

No it doesn’t, the frequency is clocked at 1600, so you’re getting 1.6ghz per core. which is 6400ghz, but should be 9600ghz in total.

When ordering, already asking for domain. Can this be changed at a later time if needed? Also, do you have templates? want to use it for CMS like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla. Do you have those that I can easily spin up? what about a control panel? Also, can I have more than 1 domain on this server? Sorry, fairly newbie in this realm. Have godaddy as my hosting right now and want to transfer. Any suggestions, recommendations?

    Thanks!

    • This is only a identifier and you can change it in the future. We have a different OS templates but not for software, such as WordPress. This is something you would need to install on your own, as we are a self-managed provider.

It’s a great point to start learning Linux at an affordable price. But, as I said earlier, we are a self-managed provider and it’s all on you.

I have had bad experiences with K9VPS. With 12 hours downtime in a 24 hour period, Difficult billing practices and slow response to server down tickets, I will not recommend K9VPS to anybody.
I am not a expert in the Low End VPS’s but I have had good issue free service from AlphaRocks.

I would like to know if it is allowed to use your vps as a socks5 proxy (or setup an openvpn) for example to listen to music on pandora (I am located in Europe)? It looks like your TOS says that it js forbidden. Also, it says that one can use 0.8 of cpu before one gets kicked? How is that computed? I am planning to setup an R Shiny Server to do some math computations that might take 100% of cpu but only for 5-10 mins every 2-3 hours. Will it be ok? Additionally I would like to have wordpress and owncloud there as well. So, can I safely use such setup or should I fear that one day my account will be suspended?;)

I just received a threat that the company will give away my personal information to defame me.

I had some issue with downtime and instability with the uplink. I was hoping to receive help with the issue, but it took a turn for the worse. It was quite the scare.

I received an answer that it is not dedicated but shared for everyone on the rack. Ok, i understand that. but the rep did not stop there. Here is a screenshot of the transaction.

I made the unfortunate mistake of not heading this review. My own experience has been similar, I think this may be a pattern of behaviour with Roilan (if not this company). If you have any need for services beyond casual personal use, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you avoid doing business with Rolian Salinas, who refuses to acknowledge problems; ignores inconveniences such as fact, proof, and logic; and generally seems intent on creating issues rather than resolving them.

    These guys scammed me.

A year ago, they took money out of my account, and offered no service in return. They then ignored my emails. A year later, they again took out money from my account, and I still have no access to their service.

I’ve contacted them, shown receipts, and they simply ignore my emails.

    AVOID. THIS IS A SCAM.
