  2. Thank you for posting our offer! We really appreciate it!

    A few quick notes:

    – VPS are provisioned to RAID-10 SSD disks. HDD was mentioned by mistake above.
    – Plans are activated instantly upon successful payment.
    – rDNS can be configured within the control panel by following this KB: https://cp.launchvps.com/knowledgebase/15/How-to-Configure-rDNS-for-your-VPS-Service.html
    – When IPv6 is enabled, a full /64 is given. The ::2 from the range will be assigned as the active IP, but you will have the ability to use the full /64 as you wish.
    – *BSD and Windows ISOs are available on the KVM plans.
    – We are working on a DNS product based on PowerDNS which supports DNSSEC. If you are interested in trying/using the beta, please let us know by creating a ticket. This is a free service and is almost ready to be released. This will allow you to manage DNS for any zone you wish within our control panel, using out DNS systems.

Other than that, please let me know if you have any questions. I am happy to assist! :)

    Hi,
Is the backup/snapshot fee a one time, monthly, or annually fee?

    • Ryan:

I’m referring to the KVM plan and doing a manual backup…. I’m not interested in a “scheduled” backup but rather an image/snapshot I can build and sit on in case of disaster. My everyday site data is backed up in another way.

      • Hi Ryan,

This is a good question and we will create a KB for this. Thank you for asking.

In our view, snapshots are created in order to be used before a system change or configuration change such as updates or something similar. From there, they should be used immediately or removed. Snapshots are not recommended for long-term image storage. We occasionally audit snapshots and remove them when they become a certain age. Mainly, this is because the snapshots will use GBs of valuable SSD storage.

For long-term image storage, we recommend the backups add-on.These are exactly what you have specified. When a backup is taken, it is a full image of the machine which is then offloaded to a separate NFS server. This can be restored at any time.

Backups can either be created in a one-off manner or they can be scheduled. It is up to you. You can create an image backup whenever you are ready and have it available for as long as you need.

As for the pricing term, it matches whichever term is applied to your VPS service. If you select yearly, then the backups will be added as a yearly add-on. Same idea for monthly terms.

Here are the KBs on how to manage backups in our system:

        https://cp.launchvps.com/knowledgebase/7/Backup-and-Recovery

Hopefully, this answers your question. Let me know if you need further clarification. :)

  4. Dan:

I decided to try of the 2GB KVM offer from Launch and was very pleased. The features available to manage your VPS are good, definitely enjoy having the snapshot function there for pre-update activities, and support response is within a minute!

I did request an upgrade option to the 4GB KVM as I am trying out a new setup and that was added very quickly to the panel and it handled the prorated amount just fine.

Looking forward to using Launch VPS for my current setups.

  5. Do you allow bulk mailing from your vps?

    March 28, 2017 @ 7:09 pm | Reply
    • Hi Kabir,

If the mail being is legal and legitimate, then yes. This would not be a problem. If it is not and the IP becomes blacklisted, we will take actions which include account suspension and possible termination.

But, if the mail is legitimate, then there shouldn’t be any issues. Feel free to create a ticket to discuss further if you like:

Thank you for your question and I hope I hear from you soon. :)
