LowEndBoxTV: How Does the Hetzner AX102 Dedicated Server Stack Up?

Hello!  Time for more benchmarking.   In this video, I put Hetzner’s AX102 through its paces, comparing it to the AX41.

From Hetzner:

The AX102 Dedicated Server features the AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D with asymmetric design. One set of 8 cores are mounted with AMD’s innovative 3D V-Cache technology for minimized latency and workloads that require more memory; the other group of 8 cores is designed for tasks that require higher clock speeds. We’ve mounted the AX102 with 128 GB of DDR5 ECC RAM. In addition to the classic ECC (error correction code), which protects data both on the memory module and during transfer, the new DDR5 memory generation uses the on-die ECC method. This method carries out independent error correction directly on the DRAM chip, giving you greatly optimized reliability and data integrity.

The AX41 Dedicated Root Server houses the powerful third generation Ryzen™ 5 3600 CPU from AMD, which is based on Zen 2 architecture. With 6 cores and 12 threads, this server’s optimized for creative workloads and applications that have high multi-threading requirements. In addition, the AX41 comes with two 2 TB HDDs and 64 GB of DDR4 RAM.

When it comes to ryzen Dedicated service Hetzner has one of the best offers today.  In this video, Piotr compares the AX41 to AX102 to see how much improvement there is.  On paper, it’s not even close.  The AX102 has way better performance because it’s two generations newer and on top of that it has more of these faster cares there is two times more RAM, four times as much storage (which is also faster as it’s based on PCI Express Gen 4).

So now take a guess how much faster AX102 will be?  Twice?  Triple?  Quadruple?  Let’s see the benchmarks!
