MikroVPS - $3.85/month 256MB Xen, $5.64/quarter 256MB OVZ and more in Hungary

MikroVPS_Cost-effective_IT_solutions_-_2014-08-11_15.24.22Janos, from MikroVPS, is back with several offers in Budapest, Hungary! These offers include both Xen and OpenVZ machines of various sizes. I’ve listed four of the plans I was sent, but you are free to use the coupon code LEB2014 for their other plans to get 40% off the regular price! MikroVPS are a company who were founded in April 2012 as a sole trader by Janos himself. This is the second time we’re featuring them here. Since last time, they have also started offering OpenVZ offers. They use SuperMicro-based servers with AMD CPUs, which is rather uncommon. Personally I like to see offers with AMD CPUs, as it broadens the landscape we have here. Host nodes have either a AMD Opteron 4280 (OpenVZ) or 4386 (Xen) CPU, 32GB of RAM, 4x 1TB hard drives in RAID10 backup up by a RAID controller with BBU. Each VPS is assigned 1 IPv6 address but more are available for free upon request. All prices exclude VAT which only needs to be paid if you are from the EU and do not have a valid VAT number. I’m looking forward to hear any experiences you guys have with MikroVPS, so feel free to share them in the comments.

Payments are made via PayPal at the moment, with a non-refund policy. They provide a 99.86% uptime guarantee per calendar month according to their Terms of Service. They allow IRC for personal usage as well as VPN and proxies, Tor is permitted “within the framework of legality” although I wouldn’t be sure how they would monitor that, as well as legal adult content being permitted. Downloading films or music for personal usage is permitted too. According to Janos, they have a traffic limit in place but only suspend the VPS in the event illegal activity is noticed.

  1. Hi!

    Some information:

For OpenVZ we can provide only tunneled IPv6, but this is an unfiltered tunnel!

We have servers for Xen VPS packages with Intel CPU (E5-2620) too, so if somebody need Intel, we can provide it.

  3. I was going to say that’s not a good sign when the webpage for the VPS doesn’t even pull up. Then I noticed the links provided to MikroVPS (by text and graphic) are to https not http. Regular http://www.mikrovps.eu/ pulls up just fine. LowEndBox may wish to fix their link.

    • Hi!

We can add 100 IPv6 address for a VPS, but this is a tunneled IPv6, but unfiltered.

Would you allow torrents for seeding legit software such as Linux distribution ISOs?

    August 17, 2014 @ 5:09 pm | Reply
    • Hi!

      Yes, why not?

In Hungary is legally to download music or video (film, movie, etc) if you are a private person, and for personal usage.

    • Hi!

In your Knowledgebase there are question:

    – Can I host minecraft server on VPS?
    – No, we don’t allow Minecraft in our VPS plans.

I personally don`t plan to run minecraft server, but why there this strange restriction?
