LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

MrWebserver - $5 256MB OpenVZ VPS in Germany

Updated September 2010: The domain is now redirected to HostRail.com. It has actually changed hands before. I guess the business has been sold and clients migrated. Another one in the dead pool.

MrWebserver Via this WHT offer. Mrwebserver has a domain registered just over a year ago in Dec 2008, but claimed to be “founded in early 2003” on its home page. It has some good discount on their virtual server products. Use promo code promovps5 to get $5/month recurring discount from their VPS1 product, which comes down to $5/month. You get:

  • 256MB memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 120GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/vePortal
  • CentOS

Owner has an Australian contact in the WHOIS page and claimed to live in Brisbane in a WHT thread. They are also “dedicated to green hosting” by partnering with NaturEnergie AG to provide hydropower to the data center. I guess it would be Hetzner’s Datacenter-park in Germany.

Website hosted on a cPanel box in Scranton with BurstNET & 2 NS on the same box. Hmmm…

  4. Looks like MrWebServer has changed hand multiple times.

The domain was registered by someone in Cyprus in July. And then a few days ago it is now transferred to HostRail — the home directory is also redirecting there as well. I guess I will close this and put the provider to dead pool this month.
