another garbage 3 page html site with a garbage provider in oversatured market. will be the last person on earth to own an ovh vps, that may go down any day.

  2. I thought we had people do some checking but maybe 5 minutes of searching pulled in the following:

    – Took MyRSK’s phone number, tossed it into Google and pulled up vps9.us as the phone number is listed as the contact information

    – vps9.us
MyRSK had a backlink from http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=c3f7ae01721db4b0dd50774d9d6b81e8&mode=hybrid&t=1134304 to their site. That user on the thread is “vps9ryan”. vps9ryan has a bunch of 2012 posts, ONE post in 2011, and a bunch for 2010.

The WHOIS info for vps9.us is clearly false, with the phone number being invalid, so when that number is Googled stuff for India comes up. Folks complaining about vps9.us spamming from years ago, not an issue.

    Just some questions:
    – What is the relationship between you and vps9ryan?
    – Why did the staff allow a provider with invalid WHOIS info submit an offer when people would scream over private registrations

Also free trials on an OVH box, let the WordPress spam flow and let OVH respond appropriately.

    • Thanks for the research on a different hosting company. That being said, if we did post all of the information you found somebody else would just complain about that. We’re glad to see people doing their own research which is what we hope everybody does.

    • @Hahn I must admit, I am impressed by the way you did you research. I also agree with @KuJoe’s comment above

All I can say is, this is what you get for posting another OVH provider….

    • Can’t please everyone. Either we discriminate and have people complain or we don’t discriminate and have people complain. It’s going to continue happening which is why I don’t even think about it anymore.

      • I’m curious to know as well. I have one of their kimsufi 2G servers and pretty happy for a physical dedicated server for about USD$20/mo.

For those curious, http://kimsufi.ie for US customers. They have several other TLDs for other countries. Only downside is the verification process is fairly intrusive (need to send them a copy of your driver’s license and a utility bill, although the utility bill just verifies your address so you can blank out most of it.)

        May 2, 2012 @ 12:38 pm | Reply
        • I ordered from Kimsufi UK before with no documentation required.

          May 4, 2012 @ 7:27 am | Reply
        • @daniel: yeah it depends on the country you’re in. You probably just used your phone or something. If you lived in the UK it was much easier. In the US they needed extra validation or something.

  5. vps9ryan’s email address from that site matches the WHOIS info for myrsk.com, so KuJoe it’s not “a different company”

We all appreciate the forensics but what a bunch if crybabies. A $6 VPS almost isn’t worth 1 hour of playing detective. This site is free and the the VPS’s are cheap. If you don’t want another OVH VPS keep your six bucks and wait for another “exciting” ubiquity or softlayer reseller that we see everyday.

        • Lowender:

I got ripped off by Foster too unfortunately. It’s a situation where filing a chargeback for $12 after the purchased or doing an hour of forensics before the purchase is a lose-lose. I did have half a dozen of those so I suppose it was $60 sadly.

    Hello guys,

Just to clear up your questions …

vps9Ryan is a partner of mine, He used to manage vps9 with me. vps9 was sold in 2009, which then you got the whois details of another person, since the company was sold – the domain was sold too.

If there is anything else, please let me know – I will do my best to clear it for you :)

    Regards,

Europe is saturated with cheap VPS plans. I suggest advertising plans in the UAE. That’s an under-served region and will help you stand out from your many, many competitors.

      >That’s an under-served region and will help you stand out from your many, many competitors.
DU (sole carrier in the UAE)….. 800EUR / Mbit, 10Mbit min. commit

Start provide VPS there, i wan’t to see that ;)

      • R Alkhaili:

        I do agree!

We should provide hosting services from within the UAE – however, bandwidth is very, very expensive here.

With colocation and 50GB of bandwidth only, it will come upto $428/month (and thats bandwidth costs only)

It will be very hard to list on lowendbox :P

However, we are checking with another datacenter that is new in the region, and we hope to do something soon.

ps. Du is not the sole carrier here ^^

        Regards,
        Alkhaili

I thought Etisalat was the Sole carrier and Du was reliance based company that resold Etisalat services? Anyway, if you could sell services connected to http://bgp.he.net/AS8966#_peers that would be sweet! Asia/Africa and Europe connectivity would be phenomenal! Very very diverse connectivity.

      Hi mate,

We are working on a custom in-house panel for vps setup/provisioning/control. We hope to add a billing and support compatibility to it too.

So, WHMCS is there for the time being :)

      • Ahm, hosting your website with other hosting company isn’t bad.
Most companies do this I think.

        May 4, 2012 @ 3:33 am | Reply
        • A lot do. Maybe half actually. This is because if their clients get attacked their website stays online and if their website gets attacked their clients stay online. We used to host our website on a BuyVM KVM VPS until we moved to a new DC (long story).

    Quick vouch for MyRSK.

I have had my services running on a MyRSK 2048 plan now for the last month and a half and all seems to be well. Throughput seems to be pretty quick and so far the only issue I had was an NTP issue (OpenVZ host time was out). Emailed Rashid and the issue was resolved about 7mins after my initial email.
