LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

New Dollar VPS Club Member: Evolution Host! $1 a Month for a 1GB VPS in Your Choice of 8 Datacenters Around the World!

Evolution HostThere’s something magical about the dollar-a-month price point for a VPS.  In a world where there’s hardly anything that still costs a dollar anymore, getting dollar store pricing for a month’s worth of your own operating system in a high quality datacenter is a great deal.

We’ve long had a page on dollar-a-month hosts, and it’s one of our most popular publications.  Today we add a new member: Evolution Host, who has a great offer for your consideration.

Available in the US and Europe, you can get a 1GB VPS with 20TB of monthly transfer (bandwidth) for only $1/month!

Service is available in Strasbourg (France), Frankfurt (Germany), London (UK), Warsaw (Poland), Montreal (Canada), Oregon (USA), Dallas (USA), or Virginia (USA).

This is an IPv6-only VPS, and comes with 4Ghz+ cores, your choice of Linux distros, and full DDoS protection.

We’ve featured Evolution Host many times in the past.  They’ve been in the hosting industry since 2013 (you may have previously known them as evolutionhost.co.uk).

This VPS offer is available on an annual contract at €10.73/year.  That’s typical for this ultra-low price point, since payment processing fees would otherwise make them infeasible for the provider.  As of the time of this writing, €10.73 = $11.98/year.

Questions?  Check out their web site, and be sure to read their TOS while you’re there.  They accept PayPal, credit/debit cards, and a wide range of cryptocurrencies.

  1. We’re delighted to work with the LEB team once again to publish our unique to LowEndBox offer of $1/m for an IPv6 only DDoS protected VPS.

We look forward to working with anyone that chooses to take us up on this offer!

  2. For 12 USD a year, you should give at least a routed subnet /64 for the vps… this it’s not a deal… For a yearly VPS cost of $12, providing a routed /64 IPv6 subnet is a common expectation, and it’s not necessarily unreasonable to consider it an important aspect of the deal.

    • We certainly understand your viewpoint and desire for a larger IPv6 subnet. Unfortunately it is not currently possible for us to offer a larger subnet with our servers however we can offer additional /112s if that would be suitable for you.

Please note that the value that is being provided with this offer may not be what you’re familiar with seeing.

Evolution Host utilize high frequency CPUs to provide an optimal KVM VPS hosting environment for our clients. In our experience, hosting providers tend to utilize CPUs with many CPU cores running at low frequencies to maximise profitability. By contract, we prioritise CPUs that offer higher performance per core, which is beneficial for most applications. NVMe SSDs are also included. Offering a $1/m DDoS protected VPS with high quality hardware is not standard practice. We do wish we could include a /64 alongside it however we believe that this is a fantastic offer nonetheless.

  3. As someone who enjoys testing various VPS providers from LowEndBox, I’m interested in giving your service a try. I’m not implying it’s not a good deal — in fact, at €12/year, it seems quite reasonable if the uptime, connection stability, and speed are solid.

It would have been great to have a /64 IPv6 subnet included, if that were possible. Nevertheless, I’ll proceed with testing and monitoring how the VPS performs over time.

We’d be delighted to have you give our KVM VPS hosting a try, we think you’ll be impressed with the results!

The order form says 1 IPv4 address is included for free — is that a mistake? If it is the case, would ordering two IPv4 address be needed to only get one?

    May 19, 2025 @ 8:29 am | Reply
    • Hi, from what I understand it’s only Ipv6, so we get an /112 subnet, no ipv4 connectivity. Maybe if you pay for it. I ordered one vps, so I can say it’s decent, I did reverse dns, I added some /112 Ipv6, as it is it’s OK… As I said earlier if we had at least a /64 subnet to play with, was a verry cool offer.

    • Hey Raul,

This KVM VPS offer does not include an IPv4 address. The page mentions an included IPv4 address as it is referring to the non promotional Starter VPS package.

If you select any option in the “IPv4 Addresses” section of the form other than the default the form will not let you through.

We hope this clears things up!

    • If you’re looking for a VPS with IPv4 at the same price… I know a spot. Only in the US.
They go by Pulsar67. I’m not affiliated — just putting you on game.
They throw in a /48 and IPv4 for free.
What you do with that info… that’s on you.”

    • Hey Leo,

To follow up on our previous comment, the offer does not include an IPv4 address and the page mentions an IPv4 address as it is referencing the non promotional offer of a standard Starter VPS (without the discount).

Let us know if you have any further queries about our DDoS protected VPS offer!

ok so if i want an IPv4 address, i’ll have to add an extra one (EUR 3.99) ?? so it’ll be showing 2 (EUR 3.99) under ipv4 addresses ? correct ?

  7. What exactly do you mean by DDoS protection?
I noticed you’re using OVH infrastructure — which already includes pretty solid mitigation with their VAC system. I’m also using OVH services, and while they offer decent protection (including Game Mode), they still go down if the attack is big enough or persistent.

Are you adding any extra layer on top of OVH’s default protection? Like custom filtering, advanced firewalls, or upstream scrubbing services? Because from my experience, when people really want to take down a server and they hit hard enough, even OVH struggles, and connections start timing out.

  8. EvoShield DDoS protection is included with all of our VPS and VDS hosting plans, and is also available as a Remote DDoS Protection service (https://evolution-host.com/remote-ddos-protection.php). EvoShield provides full layer 7 heuristic validation for supported applications and protocols. When combined with upstream DDoS protection such as OVH VAC, EvoShield is able to mitigate a wide range of attacks which would otherwise, as you’ve mentioned, pass right through OVH and impact the machine.

While the full scale EvoShield service is not fully compatible with IPv6 addresses, our standard protection features far surpass OVH’s included DDoS protection.

It’s $12 a year not $1 month. Would be great to have services which allow monthly payment.. I need some recurring payments to put on my credit card.

    May 21, 2025 @ 7:41 am | Reply
    • Hey,

We certainly understand your point of view however when you consider payment gateway provider fees which charge additional fees per transaction in addition to a percentage of the transaction (PayPal, Stripe etc) providing a month to month $1 VPS would be extremely unsustainable. One way for providers to make it more sustainable to offer a “$1/m” VPS is to require a 12 month up front payment of <=$12.

We hope this makes things a bit clearer for you and helps you better see things from the VPS hosting providers perspective.

    service seems okay so far

CPU speed does indeed seem pretty fast

I’m on the Virginia datacenter but the Ubuntu image was configured to exclusively use de.archive.ubuntu.com

    1. Virginia is quite far from Germany

    2. de.archive.ubuntu.com is IPv4-only and hence not a good choice for an IPv6-only server

    oh well, easy fix

it would be nice if there was a NAT gateway for outbound IPv4 connectivity, currently it’s necessary to use public NAT64 services (which tend to be lackluster) to download from Github etc

there is no DHCP or Router Advertisements, it’s static configuration but not with netplan, it was using a /etc/network/interfaces file like in the dinosaur times, fortunately converting to netplan wasn’t too difficult

VNC password is limited to 8 characters, alphanumeric only, implying they’re still using TightVNC Server or similar 90’s tech, fortunately, there’s an option to disable VNC completely, so I guess I’ll just turn it on temporarily when I need it which hopefully won’t be often

    May 22, 2025 @ 3:53 am | Reply
    • Hey Bob, thanks for all of the feedback! We’re glad to hear that the CPU is performing well.

We’ve identified the de.archive.ubuntu.com mirror configuration in the Ubuntu 24.04 installation template and this has now been corrected. The updated installation template will synchronise to all of our machines within the next few hours and this issue won’t impact any newly deployed or reinstalled VPS going forward.

We certainly agree that the VNC password policy isn’t ideal. We have previously raised this issue with the VPS control panel developer and it’s something we hope to improve in the future. In the meanwhile, you can certainly keep VNC disabled and enable it temporarily at any time if required.

Upon review we can confirm that DHCP is available over IPv4 for the configuration of IPv4 addresses however DHCPv6 is not available at this time. We do hope to introduce this in the near future.

As the IPv6 only VPS hosting promotional package is a brand new product that we launched we certainly appreciate you helping us to identify and resolve some of the initial kinks!

Just paid for this and I received a VPS (Dallas) on an AMD EPYC 7302P 16-Core Processor (3GHz) so not at all what is advertised nor what is listed in the host node specs.

    • Hey Tim,

We’re sorry that you had a poor experience!

I’ve reviewed your ticket and it looks like you unfortunately had selected the one location our VPS CPU frequencies are less than 4Ghz in (Dallas).

As per the ticket your server has now been migrated to an alternate location with a CPU you’ve deemed suitable.

We’re sure you’ll have a much better experience going forward.

Brian, can you please answer my question ? because i’ve asked twice and you’ve either not replied or seem unclear.

So if i select a 12-month KVM VPS package, using this promo code IP6ONLY, is the price shown below correct ?
    – €21.45 Annually (1 Month Free), 1 x IPv4 (free)

if not, would adding an additional IPv4 (2 – 3.99) €30.01 Annually (1 Month Free) – make any difference, since someone mentioned previously that only IPv6 addresses are provided ? Would i get an IPv4 address with i select 2 – 3.99 ?

    Please confirm !! Cheers

    • Brian:

      Hey Leo,

So to clarify, an IPv4 address is not provided when using this promotion and there is no way to add an IPv4 address onto the VPS – including the method which you are referring to.

If you attempted to checkout with that configuration you would not be able to.
