LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

Newwebsite - $6.95 512MB OpenVZ VPS

Newwebsite.com Via this WHT offer. Newwebsite.com is a Virginia-based hosting provider that has its domain registered since 1997! According to its about page it started in web design business, moved to hosting 2 years later, had its own small DC, and now have all its equipment with OnePartner.com in Duffield VA. It has released some low end specials starting from $6.95/month:

  • 512MB guaranteed/2048MB burstable memory
  • 25GB storage
  • 500GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
  • DirectAdmin/Installatron included

Sounds like pretty good deal for those looking for DirectAdmin bundles to have a ready-to-run VPS for hosting websites. 256MB-512MB under 7 bucks seems to be the norm these days although those are no where near “low end box” IMHO. Well. The world moves on and I shall go back to play with my Commodore 64 and Apple IIe.

At $6.95/month their business is not sustainable:

    DirectAdmin $5/month
    Installatron $1/month
SolusVM $10/month per server, assuming 10,20,30,40 VPS per server – $1-$0.25

So their base cost without the server cost and bandwidth = $7-$6.25

  2. Hmm this seems to be a too good to be true scenario so I signed up but in their signup page they didn’t even ask for my payment info. I just got redirected to a page telling me everything will be setup soon after I placed my order. I’m confused now.

Most of these budget providers don’t have sustainable business models. A lot oversell till it comes out of their ears, then maybe sell the company off (like BoxVPS did)

  4. Virpus used to do $7 special with DirectAdmin as well. Maybe they can source some very cheap licenses? But yes, many providers listed on this blog are in fact not sustainable.

  5. Note: the budget plans may be just an action – means to attract people to the service. In this given case it is said the specials may vanish at any moment.

DirectAdmin’s lowest price point is $5, Installatron on 50 units $1, you can get probably get it for 50c on 100-200+

  8. @Mike, they do have WHMCS system. Once you logged in you will see your invoice. I was a little surprised seeing an e-mail from them stating I passed the fraud check when I didn’t even paid yet.

  9. Yeah, I just logged into WHMCS before I read your message, and noticed the invoice.

  13. I love how people assume they know what our costs are. People have no idea what our costs are and we plan to keep it that way. We are not beginners at this. We have been here long before most of the big companies out there now.

  16. I picked up one of the 11.95 VPS packages for hosting my sites and the 6.95 VPS for use as development/test environment. I must say I have been really impressed with the support. Floyd forgot to add the additional IP addresses on one of my VPS instances. I e-mailed him and asked about it. He promptly replied with apologies and they were added within 5 minutes. The servers have been solid with zero downtime, good speeds, and support requests have been answered quickly. Floyd (the owner) is doing things right it seems.

  17. I for one would love to know more about the $5 price point for Direct Admin. With 122 servers, I’m paying $19 per box. I don’t see a $5 price point. (Although I no longer see my $19 price point either. Hmmm….)

  18. I’ts a code 500 license for internal providers you need to request it from DirectAdmin.

  19. Thanks. We get the internal pricing even though we do a mix of shared and dedicated. Be a long while if ever until we hit 500 servers.

  21. I must say, that this is a wonderful service! I’ve been using the VPS for about a month now, and it’s absolutely great – the server, the support and of course the price! Maybe they could add 6 months and 1 year subscription options and plans with more bandwidth. I hope that the quality will remain the same in the future!

As a current customer on this special, would I be able to switch over to Xen (and have you move my data, etc for me?) w/same disk, b/w, etc & cost?

We can do this for you but for the exact same specs Xen is a little more. Mostly its because of the memory. I am trying to be careful how much I post here because I don’t want to spam. There is a WHT post a few weeks ago with the Xen link to the specials.
