This offer is the third offer from North East Computer Systems at LowEndBox. NECS started off as a local IT solutions company in 2005 and expanded into the VPS market in 2012. They are a registered limited company in the UK (5504556) and are VAT registered (927 2078 19); hence the need for non-VAT registered European Union citizens to pay an additional 20% in VAT. In previous offers, NECS have operated out of the Redstation dataceneter and while they still have servers there, this particular offer is hosted in the Rapidswitch/iomart datacenter in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

NECS accept payments via PayPal & Google Checkout and offer a 7 day money back guarantee. Auto install KVM Templates and self install ISO’s are available with their KVM packages. For more information, do take a look at their Terms & Conditions. Although there wasn’t much feedback on NECS 96MB did do a great review with the specifics and was positive overall. Please do share your experiences with us below. :-)

    • When I had a server with them before Christmas, they were great. No complaints here. (Gave it up due to not being used)

      • I’ve also personally used them, no complaints either, was actually pretty decent. Only just remembered though, would have put it in the LEB post otherwise. ;-)

Hi Ramon. Do you offer rDNS for both IPv4/IPv6 in that DC?

    • Emil,

Looking at the test IP, it looks like the /24 is delegated to Rapidswitch so IPv4 is possible right now via ticket unless they coded something for an API callback or something but IPv6 you are looking at a few days until they get their finger out.

  5. Offer looks good, Might pick one up as I need a server for a 3rd DNS box.

Would you accept UK bank transfer as a payment method?

Lloyds charge me a pound for using Google checkout and I dislike paypal.

  8. Hi Guys,

just to answer a few questions,

    Hi Emil
rDNS will be available but on the IPv6 front, the Data Centre is currently upgrading the equipment which means IPv6 is not active at present, we have been assured that the equipment installation is imminent and is fully active in other racks but our server is in one of the new locations and we are reluctant to move it for the sake of a few days.

    Hello @Jack
Yes we can offer bank transfer ☺

    Hello@Derry
    This is a lifetime offer

    Hello @abdussamad
The email relay is specific to the Redstation Data Centre and not this offer

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Ramon

I’ve had their vps for a little while now, been using FreeBSD 9.0.
Initially there were some issues with their KVM node that didn’t support FreeBSD (the installer would hang just after the loader stage 2.
They moved my VPS to another node that worked.

Then (recently) they started moving their infrastructure around to different nodes, and sadly they were no longer able to provide FreeBSD support (apparently a known issue with FreeBSD 9.0 and up and some SuperMicro servers with KVM).
Too bad, luckily the reason why I’m using their server doesn’t really require FreeBSD, so I was asked whether I could switch to Linux and get a month of free service for inconvenience.

Overall my impression is good, and yes I would prefer FreeBSD but I will live…
