Pay attention: Prowhost just raised the quaterly price for the 512 MB package from $5.99 to $17.97 without any comment to their customers.

That is a pretty large increase in terms of percentage. How are your customers responding to such a large price increase?
No notice at all. I logged into my account at Prowhost by chance and saw the changed amount for the next payment. Then I asked their support about the reason.

The campaign we did was a campaign we did at that time. However, we applied the normal prices, thinking that we could not continue this discount due to increased 3rd party costs (Traffic Tracking, Abuse tracking, Monitor tracking). The price of the package you bought was normally $11.98 anyway. The raise is not 3 times. We also shared an announcement about this on our page and did not force anyone to continue with the new prices. Since AWS does not provide a traffic tracking system, we monitor many of our customers with 3rd party software to protect them without paying extra traffic fees. and we cost much more than the price we get on AWS. Of course, we do not want to lose a customer of 9 months. But we cannot continue by selling at a loss. Therefore, upon your request, your server was canceled and the fee of $1.99 was refunded for 1 month you did not use.
Also, only in the last 2 months, we had to pay an extra $20k traffic fee because some of the client servers exceeded the specified traffic limits exponentially. However, customers did not agree to use this traffic even though we had evidence. For this reason, I would like to add here as a note that we have started to use these softwares compulsorily.
This fee could not be collected from the customers and was added to our turnover as a total loss. We started to follow it instantly so that it wouldn’t happen again.
To be fair, yes, I got a refund of $1.99 for the prepaid month I’m not using any more.
But all the rest is not the good way to treat a customer: raise the quarterly price from about 6 to 18 Dollar (for a 512 MB VPS), publish an announcement on your page after a customer asked about the silent price increase and of course the silly reasons for this price change (costs for monitoring?).
