Damiaan from Genox has offered LowEndBox readers a special discount for their KVM based hosting. Use coupon code LEB2011, you’ll be able to get their “Lite” plan for CAD$7/month (~USD$6.86, reduced from CAD$9.50). Direct signup link, and here’s its specification:
- 256MB memory
- 5GB storage (RAID10)
- 100GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps
- KVM/SolusVM
Canadians also need to pay GST or HST, depending on your province. Servers at the data center on 55 Marietta St, Atlanta GA. Qenox.com has been registered since September 2010, with WHOIS information masked and with a non-redundant NS setup. However according to the WHT member profile, it seems to be related to Idologic.com, who has been running managed VPS and web hosting for many years.
That’s it for me today. Wish everyone here a Merry Christmas!

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
its Qenox and first link is wrong 🙂
yeah i think LEA messing up the q with g.. http://www.qenox.com/
Merry Christmas LEA!!
Thanks oblivioner, hopefully LEA will fix it soon.
The signup link is correct though 🙂
Quite nice due to the small bandwidth would of been nicer on a gigebit port
Thanks Ginger; we might revisit the max VPS bandwidth settings; the node itself is a gigE of course.
The node is on a gigE port of course; we’ll revisit plan structures in the future, so it’s possible more will be added.
Small bandwidth? What exactly are you hosting? I run a Google PR3 website with about 20k hits a month and could easily use 100gb in 6 months
Signed up, happy with the service & support so far. Assisted me with the CentOS 6 install which has issues on 256MB RAM.

No problem whatsoever 🙂 We have now indicated the minimum RAM requirements on the signup form and the KB; but we’ll gladly install CentOS 6 on 256MB by temporarily doubling the RAM; apparently the installer wants 384MB.
Just wanted to add we still have a 30% off coupon valid for all plans: Thirty2011. It brings down the $9.95 plan to $6.97 and is also applicable to the non LEB plans.
Hi I was wondering if could get a traceroute from there to en.wikipedia.org and if there’s any test downloads. (it seems routing to florida from some places can be kind of dodgy)
Here you go, that’s from a KVM VPS:
wget this file: http://qenox.com/zero.file it’s about 50MB.
Hello, I wonder what the ip you use so I can test here and see if the proxy has a good route, thanks.
