How do the Asia-optimized IPs fit in to this offer? Included by default, or a purchased add-on perhaps?

    February 17, 2016 @ 11:37 pm | Reply
    • Great question! Being placed on the Asian Optimized network is optional, available at + $5/month upon request for your /29 to be placed on the AO network.

  3. I have a copy of Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard that I bought from Insight. Would I be able to use that to install on one of these?

    February 18, 2016 @ 1:50 pm | Reply
    • Customers can request that the servers be delivered without an operating system, and you can then install your own via KVM (just request this) it’s free and available on-demand 24×7.

Alternatively, if you choose to go with the x3440 server, the motherboard has integrated IPMI.

  11. Hi, Just wanted to share my experience that as per Quadranet support, they don’t have refund policy. I subscribed for their service and pre-paid for 3 months and realized that it’s not going to work for me so requested for cancellation and they are refusing to cancel my service and refund my money. I’m still trying, will report here again if my experience with them changes.
    Thanks,

what’s happen with your server ?

      March 8, 2016 @ 4:44 pm | Reply
    • Mansoor, That is correct; our services are month-to-month or if you opted for prepaid services, you automatically commit to those months as you’re essentially obtaining discounted pricing and cannot expect pro-rated refunds after receiving a provisioned server.

In regards to your situation, it has been addressed and I’ve decided to offer you a full refund. I’m sure you’ve read that e-mail yesterday. I wish you the best of luck.

I guess we should have option to allow access to server with or without VPN as in my case, VPN didn’t work for me but I believe that’s not the case with most of the people here as I see many happy customers around here.

    • quangphuc,
Nothing was really wrong with his server, the main issue he reported was that our VPN would not work with Windows 10 as such he was unable to access IPMI as we keep this secure. Keeping IPMI secure on our private network is obviously a good thing, though it’s unfortunate he had complications reaching IPMI due to his OS and the VPN.

He in his refund request mentioned this was the only way to access the new server; although all customers receive root credentials and should they ever have issues with our VPN or IPMI we can attach a lantronix spider (KVM) on demand allowing them access. I think the main issues was this option was not proposed nor requested, so the destination ended.

Nonetheless, this is not to say it’s “his fault” — it was a first bad impression and I respectfully understand his point of via and at the end of the day I approved a full refund. We truly wish him the best.

If I order two X3440 boxes, can I have them connected directly to each other via cross over cable, and would that be at gigabit speeds? I would use one for my front end web server and the other as my database server.

    March 14, 2016 @ 4:47 pm | Reply
    • Ken P,
Good question – unfortunately not, however, we do as you know already offer a public network (sorry I know that’s obvious) but the good news is the second network port is used for our private network. You can interconnect that way.

And the private network port will be 100Mbps (same as the public). Unless you choose to upgrade to 1Gbps ports for $10/m

    • Hi Jibon,

QuadraNet’s Los Angeles network provides excellent latency and connectivity to China. Using our years of experience in the industry and having used and tested essentially every network backbone available, our list of networks has been chosen based on the strengths each one provides both individually and combined with the rest of our networks. We know what works, where it works, and how it should be used to best provide you with the highest performance available.

QuadraNet Los Angeles Backbones consist of:

      GT-T/TiNet — Transit — 1 x 10Gbps
      PCCW/BTN — Transit — 1 x 10Gbps
      ChinaUnicom — Transit — 1 x 10Gbps
      Cogent Communications — Transit — 1 x 10Gbps
      Telia — Transit — 1 x 10Gbps
      China Telecom — Transit — 1 x 10Gbps
      AboveNet/Zayo — Transit — 1 x 10Gbps
      Equinix Exchange — Peering — 1 x 10Gbps
      Any2Exchange — Peering – 1 x 10Gbps
      Host.net — Transit — 2 x 10Gbps
      HiNet Taiwan — Peering — 1 x 10Gbps
Plus hundreds of additional network peers

QuadraNet also offers a segregated network called our “Asian Optimized” network. Typically, users reaching out to the USA from China or Taiwan have a hard time due to saturation of peering ports operated by Chinese residential ISP’s. They suffer from high latency and packet loss which severely diminishes their Internet experience on websites hosted in the USA.

As the poor service is actually isolated on these users’ ISP’s it is very difficult for them to overcome. We have developed a specialized segment of our network specifically aimed at optimizing routing paths to provide Chinese and Taiwanese users with as good an experience as possible into the USA. Through specifically designated blocks of IP Addresses, a special selection of transit backbones, hand picked peering relationships, and a whole lot of continuous networking labor we have been able to provide the majority of Chinese and Taiwanese users with latencies around 200ms or lower and speeds fast enough to max out their residential broadband connections. We are constantly working to improve our possible route choices to make live changes should any specific paths become congested or problematic and dedicated a segment of our IP space to this allows our Asian traffic to directly benefit from these changes all without affecting the thousands of other clients who may not have any interest in this product.

Being placed on the Asian Optimized network is optional, available at + $5/month upon request for your /29 to be placed on the AO network.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
