QuickWeb - $35.88/Year 384MB OpenVZ VPS in LA or Germany

QuickWeb QuickWeb was ranked #1 in LowEndTalk’s VPS comparison in 2010 Q4, and to celebrate that they are offering a special on their “Test Box VZ II” packages. Same package as last time at $35.88/Year (or $24/6 months), you can get the following update package:

  • 384MB memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

Servers available in either Los Angeles CA (ordering link) or Germany (ordering link). Promo expires on 15 January (New Zealand time I guess at UTC+11). QuickWeb might not have cheapest offers with biggest spec, but they do excel in support amongst low end box providers.

Disclaimer: LowEndBox.com is currently hosted with QuickWeb in their Xen VPS in Dallas/Softlayer.

I’s 256MB guaranteed RAM, and 384 burst RAM. So NOT 384 guaranteed RAM.

    • It is a special offer that upgrade to 384MB guaranteed memory. I know the ordering link still says 256MB Test Box VZ package, but I think the box will be upgraded after signing up.

Please note that the VPS do not have physical hard disk. In vps the I/O wait depends upon the hard ware node. The I/O wait taken from your vps was not the exact one and it depends on the I/O wait of the host node.

So the result that you have produced is the not exact iowait of your VPS and hence you can safely ignore unless your production environment is affected.

I thought quickweb was supposed to be good, I prepaid for half a year :(

    $35.88/Year (or $24/6 months) :O why?

    That mean if i choose 6month after 6month +$24 ???? or + $24+> $11 only?
    or $24+$24 = $48?

    Please answer

    January 13, 2011 @ 4:34 pm | Reply
    • that means if you pay for 6 months @24 = average of $4/mo, if you renew for another 6 months then pay another $24 as easy as that :)

Then its too much. I hope you change your mind. I also ready to buy only for six month then if i like, continue with QW :). Try to understand me. If one year $35.88 why you charge 6month $24. Is it horrible price?

        Thanks.

        January 14, 2011 @ 5:51 pm | Reply
        • Z. Rehana, the calculations is easy and the price is no horrible. If you wanted to try, then pay $24 for 6 months or go for $35.88 for 1 year.

I am sure if you go for 6 months definitely the price per month is more than 1 year. Please guys and gals, don’t make it so hard cause its just a budget VPS and QuickWeb has been providing great support.

Just a quick question before I hit checkout. Xen or OpenVZ? I know it has been asked many times, but in that company which nodes are best (doesn’t really matter to me)? I’m also interested in low pings. The IP 80.83.125.200 is on a OpenVZ or a Xen host?

In other words, are OpenVZ hosts in the same DC as Xen hosts? Are OpenVZ and Xen hosts running on similar hardware? And if no, what host is 80.83.125.200 running on and what virtualisation technology uses the best hardware?

Thanks and sorry for asking so many questions, but I’m willing to stay for a couple of years.

I think you should reconsider the word “scam”, their TOS:

“All sales are final to all delivered services and we provide NO REFUND unless otherwise stated or advertised in a promotion (proof required).”

So I don’t think they have to refund you.

      February 3, 2011 @ 6:54 am | Reply
  29. Yes we do not have standard refund policy in place for all provisioned servers as per ToS, however we do **still** give refund in cases like we cannot provide the service in full or in part due to circumstances not of client’s fault like we decided to abolish some plans or server at some DC location for example then we will refund non delivered services for remaining months, we review each cases individually.

In case of early cancellation, is not covered by refund policy as we intend and are motivated to deliver the service(s) in full be it 6 months or even 1-year term.

However i’m working with this client so he can get some sort of refund. I do encourage people to read TOS or contacting the host first to clarify things before signing up to avoid misunderstanding and wild accusations.

    • Sorry to hear about that i have checked the ticket no provided and figured the cause was misagreement with upgrade you are requesting and the price you are demanding for a specs you want initially. These budget VZ are not designed for some upgrade as it will compete with our other standard plans if you can look at Supa VZ1 that’s is $9.95 and you want better specs that that for half the price whichs we cannot sustain however i saw Joe did offered price close to the amount you want to pay…. i noticed you also demanding to be moved to another node and retain IP which is not possible in Germany due to the way VLAN was setuped so i guess there are much that went there rather than simplre renewal.

While i also notice some incorrect invoicing but that was adjusted, i wish i was involved i the ticket so it wa handled better. Anyway all the best for your hosting if you need anything else from me please email me directly rg(at)quickweb.co.nz :)
