    Looks like a good deal

Is the bandwidth on the vps plans reset every month too? Do you support Ubuntu 20.04 because my current vps host doesn’t.

Bandwidth is reset every month :) We also support Ubuntu 20.04 and it’s available to choose when ordering our KVM VPS. Additionally we’re flexible with Linux OS, any Linux OS not listed within the order form can be downloaded/uploaded/mounted by our support team 24×7.

We sincerely appreciate the interest and hope to work with you.

    Hello,
Is port 25 blocked? Can I deploy an email server on your VPS without problems?
    Thanks :)

    September 1, 2020 @ 7:48 am | Reply
    • Hi Joonthan Wimbed, good question! Port 25 is not blocked by default, so this means that our KVM VPS can be used as your mailserver, or to run your control panel that supports email.

We simply do not allow bulk email in the sense of SPAM. If you have legitimate subscribers for your site opted in, and such you will be fine :)

We look forward to working with you!

I signed up for a 4GB VPS, very fast provisioning and quick response for support ticket for an issue where I couldn’t connect to the Control Panel. Support responded back within minutes to try using the IP address and it works. Maybe something my ISP is causing SSL handshake to the url.

Another thing of interest the speedtest (speedtest-cli) always picking the servers in Kansas for the speedtest.

So far so good. Will be installing the rest of the software and really test it out. :)

    • Hello aTestUser, thank you for allowing us to be your provider! We strive to provide quick and helpful support as you experienced :)

For the speedtest, glad you noticed that as sometimes users do not and wonder why the result may vary.

We appreciate the positive comments, and hope that you continue to enjoy the level of service we provide.

interested in the “3GB KVM VPS”

    1. Is the bandwidth reset every month or is it for the whole annual term?
    2. How much is an extra IP address?

    September 1, 2020 @ 7:28 pm | Reply
    • Hello bryan, great question!

Bandwidth is reset every month, whether the cycle is monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annually etc. We understand users need flexibility on their bandwidth.

Additional IPs are either $1.50/Month or $12/Year – we have diverse CIDR blocks, and can provide diverse IPs as needed by the way :)

I hope that we can work together.

Are there any plans to offer any Block Storage that can be added to our VPS?

    September 2, 2020 @ 1:10 am | Reply
    • Hello aTestUser, great question!

At this time we have not put this on the roadmap, we’ve discussed this internally but I wouldn’t want to mislead you with any false promises so for the time being it’s not yet on the roadmap. The good news is that as of right now, our focus is product line and location growth. We recently provisioned AMD Ryzen 9 3900x KVM VPS with NVMe SSD in Los Angeles. Additionally within the next few weeks we’ll be launching a few pure SSD nodes in San Jose, Atlanta, Chicago and New Jersey.

Nothing is completely off the list, we’ll keep growing and fulfilling whats wanted/needed :)

Hey Dustin. Could you please let me know if I can run Django or NodeJS webapps on the shared hosting? I am new to this and would also like to know the current versions in the shared hosting plan. Like is it Python3 or what etc. I am very inclined to transfer my 2 websites to your company. I read really good reviews but just new to this.

  20. Hi Sanjay Kaushal, thank you for your interest in RackNerd!
Great questions by the way, NodeJS is supported :)

    Python 2.7.18, 3.3.7, 3.4.9, 3.5.9, 3.6.11, 3.7.8 is also supported.

We sincerely appreciate your interest and look forward to working with you.

    • Hey, I can confirm that Django works as well, though takes a little bit of trial and error to get configured correctly.

If it matters to you, emails get sent as well, but they always arrive in spam on gmail because they’re not DKIM signed correctly.

The hosting and support have been great. I went for an earlier plan with a lower bandwidth limit. Wish I could switch to this one! Props to you guys.

  22. Taylor:

Does RackNerd support booting its KVMs from a virtualized CD image (for example, the official CentOS 8 netinstall image)? I’m asking because I would want to re-install the OS myself on a VPS, select the packages I want, partition my storage space filesystems, etc. I’ve done this with other hosting providers to attach a specific image to be attached to the CD device from which I can boot.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

    September 18, 2020 @ 11:09 pm | Reply
    • Hi Taylor! Thank you for expressing interest in RackNerd!

We can mount the CentOS 8 ISO for you and you can manually complete the OS installation via the HTML5 console in SolusVM. From there you can configure your packages/partitioning/file systems etc.

Please open a support ticket once you’ve ordered and paid with a direct download link to the iso you want.

      We’ll be here to help.
