  1. Hey everyone,

thanks to LEB for posting this offer. Please note that Ideal-Hosting moved from Bamberg to Erlangen about one year ago. Another note:
If you go to http://rootnerds.com from LEB, all our VPS offers will be in the LEB price range. Ensure to also check out our other packages ;)

Let us know in case you have questions, we’re here to help.

Big amount of RAM but BW too small. Also port speed mentioned 100Mbps cost +5EUR and 5EUR setup fee on order page?

    September 4, 2014 @ 7:18 am | Reply
    • By default port speed depends on the node. With the option you can “enforce” a specific node to be chosen.

Is it possible to change port speed after I bought the VPS?

I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

        Thanks!

        September 4, 2014 @ 10:00 pm | Reply
        • ip-projects.de resellers.

I asked ip-projects directly about 1 random host i.e. is XXX a reseller of your VPS, they said ‘no’ I asked about Root-Nerds, they said “We cannot discuss our client arrangements”

Pinging admin.rootnerds.com [84.201.10.3] with 32 bytes of data:
          Reply from 84.201.10.3: bytes=32 time=36ms TTL=55

Pinging admin.ip-projects.de [84.201.10.3] with 32 bytes of data:
          Reply from 84.201.10.3: bytes=32 time=37ms TTL=55

They are also using the same ipv6 range as the ip-projects offer from 2 years ago and when I asked accelerated about them they had not head of them but said they would pass on the comments to ip-projects.

So yeah, not concrete but you know, 2+2 usually = 4

          • You keep spreading this wrong information. The control panel is powered by the datacenter (which can easily be seen in the source code). Bad mouthing other providers will not improve your business, that’s now how the internet works. We’re even RIPE member… not even close to reseller, sorry. (https://www.ripe.net/membership/indices/data/de.ideal-hosting.html

          • Ok so ip-projects.de are not actually the DC so why do you share a panel with them and why do you share the same IPv6 range and why do ip-projects acknowledge you are one of thier customers and why have accelerated never heard of you?

            Genuine questions?

Anthony Smith: You deduced they are a reseller from the follow statement by ip-projects? “We cannot discuss our client arrangements”

That doesn’t indicate either way if they are a customer – it simply states they don’t talk about their clients. Glad you don’t investigate anything of worth for your job, as you have already made a class A mistake.

Would be good if RootNerds could clear this up…. once and for all…

If they are paying their bills to ip-projects or Accelerated is strictly none of our (and your) business. And it doesn’t make them a reseller of one or the other (at least not more than any host who pays for colo). If you have to own your DC for not being considered a reseller, 99% of LEB/LET hosts would be “resellers”…

            September 8, 2014 @ 6:33 am | Reply
          • @swank & @dynweb well no that is not all but I accept in isolation that would be silly, I also would suggest that mentioning that one point in isolation is silly.

I also use snelserver.com for example but I don’t share an end user control panel with snel… so erm yeah there is that.

  6. Hi RootN, What is the type of CPU you are using. In your site i could not find the number of cores provided for the 4GB VPS.

    September 5, 2014 @ 10:06 am | Reply
    • Sven:

The 4GB plan comes with 4 cores. I think they use Xeon E3-1270. This CPU match with the offered Ghz.

      • Thanks Swen, If you are from RootN or a owner of their VPS you can check the cpu type from the command line. Its cat /proc/cpuinfo

Out if the 18 hours I’ve had my Vserver with them, the entire node I’m on (Root15) was down for 5 hours so far and still is down as I’m writing this. Official explaination is network problems, first the server was down for 1 hours after which the problems were fixed, then it is now down for another 4 hours and still is down right now with no updates so far.

Same here. VPS is offline. Seems like noone is taking care. It’s not a problem if the VPS is offline for an hour but if the host has serious problems, the VPS should simply moved to a another node.

If I buy now, with a discount price, will I have to pay a higher price once the offer ends?

(I left it a day before lodging a support ticket, but it’s been a few hours now with no response to that)

So much for the “set up in 1 minute!” claim on the sales page.

I’ve purchased the XL box from them. They set it up in no time.
But here comes the punchline. The 2 core CPU can’t beat a 0,5 core CPU at Host1Plus. UnixScore is around 240 at rootnerds. the benchmark. So think twice before purchasing from them.
