Matt from SecuredSpeed has sent me their LowEndBox exclusive promo code. Use LEB2T9RE3 to get 35% off recurring discount on all their OpenVZ VPS plans. “VPS One” is on yearly payment and this 128MB OpenVZ VPS would be $25.35/Year after the discount. As this is a relatively new provider (domain registered in June 2011), most would be more interested in their monthly payment plans anyway. “VPS Two” is $5.69/month after the discount (direct sign up link). It comes with
- 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
- 20GB storage
- 350GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Payment with PayPal. Servers with PhoenixNAP in Phoenix AZ. It was only launched in July according to its blog entry, although it also claimed that “It all started back in 2009 with two web developers”. Simple website that’s nicely done. Both NS on the same server. Both IRC servers and clients are prohibited.
Can’t find much info about SecuredSpeed online as there’s little posts about them on WHT. One of their guys, Nick R., is 16 though so you might be dealing with a team of New York high schoolers Update: See Lucas’ comment here. Also SecuredSpeed’s Twitter account boasts a remarkable 572 followers with just 17 following. However looking at the profile pictures of those followers (might need to scroll down a bit) — they don’t look like your typical VPS users somehow.

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Thank you for the listing LEA.
Nick is one of our interns this fall helping us out around the site. We are happy to have him on board doing some of the tasks that would distract our other admins. Just in case anyone is curious, all of our admins have Bachelor’s degrees or higher.
If anyone has any questions, the best way to contact us is through the sites “contact” page. Enjoy.
Is it 1Gbps?

Test File: http://66.85.139.187/100mb.test
thank you very mush.
Thanks to everyone who ordered. If you are still thinking about it the promo is still live.
Just to correct a few things in the LEB post above so people are not mislead if they are considering the offer:
I can say for 100% certainty that we are not “a team of New York high schoolers” lol. In fact all of our admins have a Bachelor’s degree or higher as Matt had mentioned above.
It all started for us back in 2009. This is when we decided to run our own servers instead of using servers from other providers. At first it was just for our own use. Then close friends, family, and eventually clients. Websites for small businesses, ecommerce sites for sellers who wanted to leave ebay, etc. This year we decided to open up an official web presence to make our services available to the public at large.
I flushed out a bunch of the bot/spam Twitter followers. Many of them were quite obvious as they included odd looking URL’s in their Twitter headline.
As usual the best way to contact us with any questions is through the site. If you see this post and try to sign up after this promo runs out, check back next month for another promo and/or check the twitter feed for the latest info.
Kind regards,
Lucas
