ServerDragon are a brand of, Florida Based, Secure Dragon LLC who have been featured five times before. This 20% offer is limited to only 30 users and will expire in a few days time at the end of this month (30-November 2012). The 32MB plan certainly does put the ‘Low’ into LowEndBox. All new orders will be placed on their new CentOS 6 node (vSwap). I really like their comprehensive status page, which would of course keep you updated if your host node has been blown offline by a dragon any problems.

ServerDragon came an impressive seventh in our recent Top Providers Poll. Joe, the owner of ServerDragon, is active on LowEndTalk under the moniker ‘KuJoe‘. Additionally, they are now offering DDOS protected IPs for an additional $4/month, however due to IP constraints, there is only a limited amount of stock. Paypal and Google Wallet are both accepted payment methods. They also have a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee and provide a 99.9% uptime sla. IRC clients/bouncers and private proxies/VPN are all allowed. Torrents, TOR and spam are not however allowed. As always, make sure you read their full Terms of Service.

Network Information:

Their fully owned servers are colocated with E-Solutions in Tampa, Florida. ServerDragon operate their own AS Network, which can be viewed here. For more information about their network, they have a whole page on it here.

Great service, solid network. I’m a customer of KuJoe for more than one year. If the TOS is ok for you (no torrent, no game servers, no resources abusing) than this is one the best offer in the market.

I fully agree with that. I’ve been with them for more than a year as well. Impressive ticket response times, impressive overall quality of service.

  3. Thanks all for the kind words. I just want to clarify the name change. Originally we had a different domain for each service until we started focusing on just VPSs at which time we merged them into one name (Secure Dragon). Now that we have been expanding we returned to the original plan and have a different brand for each service (returning to Server Dragon for VPSs since this was the original and fits with our dragon theme). I want to apologize for any confusion caused by this change but we feel it was easier to organize multiple small websites and giving each service it’s own spotlight than to overload a website with information.

The domain people are most familiar with (securedragon.net) is now our company website and used for our billing/client area.

Really? :) How it possible? Normally OpenVPN take at least 128-192MB RAM for work without slowdown 32MB is abnormal. You got a pony express :)

      • dannix:

openvpn requires less then few MB (usually <5Mb). Could be that you are mixing openvpn and openvpn AS (access server)

      • Just use Minstall to minimize the installations, and install OpenVPN. You can have only 9mb or max 30mb ram used

Every time they offer something, it’s always very tempting to buy one just because of the impressive uptime and service.

    Kujoe –

I think I have a server with your sister company?….(Secure Dragon). My subnet is:199.167.29.x which looks like it is also the same as this offer has for a test IP. Do you have another subnet available if I do this offer?

    November 28, 2012 @ 11:59 pm | Reply
  8. Michael Gibson:

Oh I guess the offer is over…..my bad…..but I’d still do another server at regular price if you had another subnet to offer?

    November 29, 2012 @ 12:01 am | Reply
    • We currently have 5 subnets in use for our OpenVZ plans, I believe our 199.x.x.x is used up so there is a good chance you will get one of our 198.x.x.x IPs for new orders.

I’m on 198.57.X different routing from the test IP however. This is on fire04.

  10. I picked up an O64. I was thinking about the O32, but decided to splurge and spend the extra $1.60 for the bit of extra RAM. I’ve got OpenVPN installed and running and everything is only using 12M, though (and that’s with CentOS 6, 64 bit).

I noticed with the 199.x.x.x test IP I get routed through Level 3, but with the 198.x.x.x IP address I got I get routed through NTT instead. There’s some odd geo-location stuff with the 198 address as well, but I’ll let it sit for awhile and come back to it some other time to see if it clears up.

For what its worth, the serverdragon link in this post doesn’t go anywhere unless you remove the www.

    • I’m waiting for Maxmind to update the Geo info for our 198.x.x.x IPs still. Hopefully this will get pushed through the next update in a few days.

I’ve added an A record for www, should be working shortly. :D

Just wondering what everyone is doing with theirs?

With only 6GB of space left on mine I am unsure of what to run on it..too small for backups

Was thinking of somehow getting my torrents to run thru the server before I receive them so I can download faster, but not sure

Really disappointing with securedragon. The rDNS panel for IPv6 did not work. And have to email them for the rDNS. But when comes the time want to change the rDNS, they not really support it. Only saying will do that if they have time. Here the quote of their replies:

“We will get to this when we have time. There is no ETA when this will be done. Since you already have made an rDNS request for this IP address this is not a priority for us.

    Too bad :/

    January 9, 2013 @ 4:11 pm | Reply
    • Initial requests are handled immediately, your request took about 11 hours because you have been putting in a request every day to update your rDNS records every day.

As for the rDNS panel, we already explained this to you and mention it here: https://my.securedragon.net/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=69

Here is the explanation that we provided you since you decided to leave it out:
“In the future when we purchase our own IPv6 addresses then we can manage our own rDNS, but until IPv6 becomes more affordable we are required to use our data center’s control panel. Sorry for the delay.”

And now you suspend my account? Really unprofessional! I’m your customer and its my rights to complain about your services. But only because of my complaint then you suspend my account? Its not even a month! Really bad service!

        January 10, 2013 @ 1:10 am | Reply
        • After all I did for you, your repayment to me was to come here and complain about having to wait 11 hours for me to act on your non-critical ticket for an rDNS request that I’ve already configured for you every day for the past 2 days. No thank you.

LOL.. what a funny TOS. And seems just edited to avoid refund the money. Just eat that $3.99. Let all people know how you run your worst service.

So which part of TOS do i violate? because i posted my disappointment here? that’s weird. i do respect your service thats why i posted here. so people would know how you handle cases. not with directly suspend an account and find any gap in your TOS to make me be at fault! my gosshh..

  23. well after 1 day and offline media, this deserves a free month.
Vps 2 months, and more than 5 drops per ddos …… Now this, the maximum almost two days.

Not a good site, no protection for attacks, null router could do, but nothing.

    PD: One month free :)

    • We will issue SLA credits accordingly once the issue is resolved and we are back to 100%. This will also be when we will provide an RFO for the recent network troubles.

As for the DDOS attacks, my advice is to purchase DDOS protection if you want DDOS protection.

Your recommendation? I am not looking for a vps with DDoS protection. I have one that really protects. Search for your protection, not when they attack one IP router makes null, down all pff
