ServerMania was previously known as B2Net Solutions, under which they were operating for 10 years and have undergone a rebranding. Their IP space is still registered as “B2Net Solutions” at this time and the company is legally registered in Ontario Canada. The billing and order panel looks very nice, different to the default WHMCS that’s seen amongst a number of providers. ServerMania seem to push their support credentials on their website with statements of “30 minute help desk response time guarantee,” a “30 second live chat initial response” and a “60 second phone initial response guarantee” through their 24/7 phone support line (1.888.237.6637). Beyond this they offer a 100% network uptime guarantee and a 100% power uptime guarantee, where some providers offer one or the other. Still with all of this take a read through their Terms of Services.

Payments are accepted via Credit Card and Paypal, however there is no money back guarantee or refunds offered. You can choose either Buffalo New York or Toronto Canada on signup.

Network Tests
Each page has a Test IP and a series of Test Files as well as DC information.

    1. allow legal adult?
    2. Is it possible to get 1gb VSwap instead of 2gb burst?

    March 2, 2013 @ 12:15 pm | Reply
    • Isn’t 2GB burst and 1GB vSwap is same ?? Because on burst, you will get upto that memory, that means upto 2048 as bursted. And if you 1GB vSwap, then it will allow to use more 1GB than you are allocated ! Tell me if I’m wrong.

I can tell you first off this company will do what it can to help you and assist you any way they can and be happy doing it!

I have dealt with many different companies that sell dedicated servers and vps plans and even if they respond quickly, the support people just seem like talking to you is a chore.

In my opinion you will not find a company that is more willing to do what they can for you and run the company and network well in the process. I would tell anyone who is thinking of getting a vps to get it from these guys because you will not be disappointed.

    • Hi Holoshed,

Thank you for the compliment! We do our best to provide the best customer service possible, on top of excellent VPS and dedicated hosting solutions. We’re always open to listening to our fans and client’s feedback on things, as we believe that by actually hearing out what the people want and building off of those ideas really makes a difference.

Just had a chat with Arnold on their fancy live support system. Legal adult/P2P are allowed, as are IRC clients and servers (yes, servers!). Can’t offer any proof as I’m not a member of staff but feel free to ask yourself. :-)

However, the $175.00 fee for recieving a DDoS attack makes it very unlikely that anyone would dare use these VPSs for IRC.

  14. Nagib,

You are correct in your assumption, that is how we determine VSwap on our VSwap capable nodes.

“VSwap is calculated from the amount of burst memory you add to a virtual server. For example, if you specify 512MB Ram and 1024MB Burst the VSwap would be 512MB (1024MB – 512MB = 512MB).” -quoted from http://docs.solusvm.com/openvz_vswap

This part of the TOS makes me cringe:

Disclosure to Law Enforcement: The AUP specifically prohibits the use of our service for illegal activities. Therefore, Subscriber agrees that the Company may disclose any and all subscriber information including assigned IP numbers, account history, account use, etc. to any law enforcement agent who makes a written request without further consent or notification to the Subscriber. In addition, Servermania shall have the right to terminate all service set forth in this Agreement.

In other words: If some Russian authority calls because I showed a picture of a burning Russian flag or made jokes about the Russian president, then they will disclose all customer information.

    • Tom:

      @Peter
Agree with You, especially here in Germany (You get an lawyer-letter very fast for a missing imprint for example) I am happy if I get an offshore server whose company don´t have any objections if I hide my IP adress or maintain the whole account through TOR

      Although I do nothing illegal.

Another important issue is the payment method, there should be a method to pay anonymously via PaysafeCard or Ukash. I didn´t see other hosters which would offer this payment method only a few do that!

This combination of anonymous payment feature + the very low prices for VPS´s would make THIS a real killer deal.

Consider this @Kevin and please answer this question regarding the protection of Your consumers against such pointless persecution.

1.) How do You react if there is a abuse report of a foreign lawyer becase of a missing “imprint” of a customers webpage. (why should I expose my details to everyone?) or @Peter´s example by unknowingly violating some foreign law or/and copyright.

2.) How is the chance, that You will implement the Paysafe/Ukash feature to Your Payment System in the future.

      Thank You for Your time.

        Good questions.

Also what if someone posses as a law enforcement. In other words how do you verify they are legit law enforcement following the law (court orders etc).

        March 11, 2013 @ 2:49 pm | Reply
        • Hi! Please allow me to step forward for a moment and toss my few cents, if that’s alright.

If we’re contacted by any sort of law enforcement agency or officials, we’ve got a strict set of identification procedures in order to validate such claims. Don’t worry, we won’t let any regular ole joe-shmoe waltz up and make false claims to be in any sort of governmental position of power.

We also take false impersonation like that very seriously, as it’s against the law and we have no problem with following through with any sort of repercussions related to anyone trying to pull the wool over our eyes. :)

Pitty there’s nothing for the VPS-4096L – the 2048 kicks ass so I guess the 4096 would have been a real killer :)

      March 23, 2013 @ 8:05 pm | Reply
  26. Hey Kevin,

More of disk space on the VPS-2048 Linux might make it more useful. As it is, there doesnt seem enough icing on that plan to make people want it over the 1024 plan. I’d have made the switch if you were offering around 150-200 GB space, 4TB bandwidth. In short, around double the benefits of the $7 plan would make this a killer deal. I’m enjoying my $7 plan.

Hm, the coupon isn’t automatic anymore I guess, but entering LEB2 still makes it $4 for me (1024 MB one probably working too).

      March 15, 2013 @ 12:28 am | Reply
      • Hi perennate!

That would be correct- the promo codes for these deals are no longer automatically taken off of the actual price (we had an issue with the coupons not properly working before so the prices were manually adjusted, but they’ve been fixed) so you will have to enter your promo code upon checkout to receive your discount.

If you have any problems with coupon codes not working properly, feel free to email support@servermania.com and let us know which one isn’t working, and we’ll look into it.

        Thanks!

  31. After 10 days, I’m absolutely loving ServerMania. Of the many LEBs I’ve tried, MyRSK and ServerMania turned out to be real bargains. Never had significant downtime. Amazing support, esp live support which connects in seconds and solves all issues quickly. A big contrast to the subscription with BlueVM on LEB which turned out to have down time after downtime which they were quick to blame on DDOS.

Server Mania’s offers are still live.
