ServersNV is registered as ServersNV Ltd with registration number 09023246. According to Norman, most of the staff were taken with NECS when they split off from the parent company and their support is supposed to be still as excellent. The host nodes are located in the RapidSwitch DC in the UK and are powered by an E3-1230 CPU, 32GB of RAM, at least 4 SAS drives in RAID10 backed up by a Raid Controller with BBU, and a 1Gbps uplink. All backups are located in another DC. These seem pretty complete and competitive offers, so should you try one of these out or should you be an existing customer, please share your experiences with us in the comments!

PayPal is currently the only accepted payment method, but you can use Credit Cards through PayPal. There’s a 7-day money back guarantee and a 99.9% uptime SLA. Additional IPv4 addresses are available at a quarterly charge, not monthly. Support is available in English and Spanish. Custom ISOs are also possible. Before ordering, please read their Terms of Service!

Great speeds and uptime. The amount of disk space is awesome for the price.

    Hopefully I haven’t jinxed it.

Don’t try to do the quarterly option, you will get charged 45 euro a quarter. I put in a support ticket but they said I should just pay monthly. Strange, someone offers to pay more in advance but they don’t want it.

Why no Ubuntu 14.04? Its been out now over 6 months and is the current LTS release. I was going to get one of these given the people behind it but no 14.04 is a show stopper given that’s my current OS of choice for what I had in mind.

They have both 32bit and 64bit Ubuntu 14.04 if you choose the 1GB OpenVZ box.

    • The offer above reads “Custom ISOs are also possible.”, so I believe you could just install Ubuntu 14.04 ISO if you order a KVM plan.
@ServersNV: Could you confirm that please?

    • Hi,

we offer Ubuntu 14.04 for KVM and OpenVZ. You can install through your SolusVM control panel. Also we can upload custom ISOs for you as well.

Its not on the operating system list when ordering a KVM though, so to a new client it looks like you don’t. You really should fix it.

    • We have had to shutdown your VPS because was causing mass disruption on the node. Also we have sent you a ticket explaining why your server was offline.

      • Was it an OpenVZ instance? Can someone cause mass disruption on a KVM instance?

        Thanks

        November 21, 2014 @ 11:26 pm | Reply
        • Yes, you can abuse the node with IO request, Network traffic, etc…

          November 22, 2014 @ 7:50 pm | Reply
          • DalComp:

You should add context to that, someone might interpret it differently as it sounds like you allow such abuses.

Anyhow, tested them last month and it was good without downtime. Here’s a serverbear:

          • Just to clarify that it’s not allowed! Check our TOS.

            November 23, 2014 @ 10:28 am | Reply
          • Simple misunderstanding: I wasn’t asking if I can abuse the service, I was asking whether someone on a KVM node could cause disruption for other instances/users or that isn’t possible.

            Thanks

            November 23, 2014 @ 5:15 pm | Reply
          • DalComp:

I know abuses are not allowed, just for example someone could take a screenshot of that comment to justify his abuses. :)

KVM still share some resources like network or disk speed, which can disturb other VMs on the same server if abused.

  20. Back again I like my openvz server so much I decided to get a kvm for a windows server. So far of what I have found out the server was good the I/O not really worth your time if your windows :( . First the server is soo slow because of this bottle neck that any program when trying to run will always near crash. I tends to be slower then IDE hard drives. I love the HDD speeds on there openvz(about 120MB Read/Write) but on there kvm (node KVM4).

If anyone else has a kvm with these guys please tell us what your experience is like

    • Hello all,

I am back with good news. Today I got a email from there ticket system saying that i was abusing there i/o but I haven’t used the vm for a day and a half and there was nothing runnning on the vm besides the HDTunePro I left open. So i told them that and they moved me to a different node, node “kvm3” from “kvm4”. And now this windows server is useable for once I can now open programs without them crashing

Been using these for 2 months now, stepped in low and soon upgraded as I was impressed with both the service and hosting. I currently use 4 hosts for all the sites I manage and at the moment I would put anyone using these for average sites like wordpress. I won’t go further only on the basis that I know little about the company and their short life. Seem to be building a decent company.

I cannot comment on support as this is self managed, but I’m impressed with how it is all set up – and so far so good. If the offer is still on, I might be getting another in a little while.
