    Nice KVM offers :)
Ordered a 2GB KVM w/ Windows, so far good speeds :)

Is using this server as a proxy allowed?

    Thanks

    • Hello-

The 2GB KVM package is only 30 GB storage. I would like that plan as well for Windows, but after the first set of updates won’t all of my disk space be consumed? Even if I keep it cleaned up up all the time, wouldn’t have space for installing anything.

I bought a KVM VPS. I’m a full-virtualization guy, I prefer having full control over my server and not hit any weird shared kernel issues. Also, I’m able to run Docker without any issues.

I am happy with them and can recommend them 100%, especially at these prices! Personally I would only buy KVM so I can’t comment for their OpenVZ plans, but if you aren’t doing anything that requires a custom kernel like Docker, it should be fine.

    A few questions:
1: Are other OS permitted for KVM hosts? Such as pfSense, OpenBSD, FreeBSD
2: Is it possible to load ESXi on a KVM host?
3: What kernel version are your OpenVZ at? (and any other info about the underlying system such as distro, etc.)
4: If I have multiple VPS, can I share bandwidth between them? For example if I have a 2GB and 4GB KVM, can I distribute the combined 7.5TB of bandwidth between the VPS any way I want?

I’m looking to move from another provider, and might be getting a couple KVM and maybe also a couple OpenVZ VPS.

    • Hi Davey,

      1. Yes, other OS’s beyond what we currently have are supported. Just open a support ticket to our support department with a link to the .iso, and we’ll mount it for you to complete the installation via VNC.

      2. You would need to obtain a Dedicated Server from us for this, please feel free to contact us for a quote, and we’ll be sure to provide some good pricing :)

      3. We run the latest stable version of OpenVZ 6 Kernels.

      4. At this time, no, but we’re working on this. If you ever need extra bandwidth down the road, we can provide good deals too (we have plenty!).

Thank you for your interest. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

      Regards,

    • Omar:

and is 1000Mbps is for each VPS 2GB KVM or it’s a shared 1000Mbps?

      July 31, 2018 @ 1:09 pm | Reply
    • Hi Omar,

All of our host nodes run dedicated 1Gbps uplinks, and the VPS’s are powered from that particular uplink to the host node. We never run into any saturation issues here but if we ever do, we have the ability to add more bandwidth on our end very easily.

I would say our speeds are beyond acceptable and is in line with one would typically expect for a RAID10 powered VPS. We also only use high quality hard drives (no cheap drives here), so that also helps with adding additional performance and reliability to our platform.

I would suggest the best way is to experience it for yourself risk free, and if you are not happy, we do have a money back guarantee window you can take advantage of :) But I am sure you won’t have to use it. We’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you’re a happy customer :)

      Regards,

      John

When I click the link for the 4GB KVM Plan it shows I am only getting 3TB of monthly bandwidth rather than the 5TB of monthly bandwidth shown above. I will probably not use that much bandwidth I just don’t like discrepancies so would I actually be getting 3TB or 5TB?

    • Hi Aaron,

Thanks for spotting this out! I’ve corrected the order form discrepancy. To confirm, the 4GB KVM plan is provisioned with 5TB monthly bandwidth transfer (5000GB monthly).

Open a ticket after your order with my name in the title, and I’ll give you an extra free month on top of your next due date. Appreciate you taking the time to bring this up to my attention :)

Stay away. They limit your usage and will shut your VPS off if you go over “it.” They told us the limit was ‘load at 10.0’ but on
benchmarking a few times our load was under just 1.0 many times and still got shut off.. to keep us from having this occur we
ran cpulimit on many processes and even still it proves to be flakey even still. Today our VPS has been offline for hours and it
appears to be a systemic problem according to their support. Their support barely speaks English and proves to be very
unhelpful even after we escalated the ticket to Admin we haven’t received a response in a week.

I know this is a bit old, but I wanted to leave a comment for anyone who comes across this after this point.

I have had umax for a little over 6 months. I let my account lapse, and my VPS was terminated. I paid my invoice and asked them to recreate my vps, and also asked if it were possible to move my billing date to match the new payment date, so I get a full 3 months. All seemed well, until I started getting billed AGAIN for the same vps. I paid it 2 weeks ago, and have been charged $60 on a $19 plan.

This isnt so bad, mistakes happen. The problem is, the ticket it 2 weeks old, and I havent received a single useful response. I havent received any update at all in over a week, and that last one was “your ticket has been escalated”. When I found a new charge on my card again today, I updated the ticket in hopes they havent forgotten me. At this point, I just want all my money back, and to not have to deal with these people.
