Saw this company Veeble Web Solutions mentioned quite a few times on WHT, and saw that their VPS plans start at $5/month.
- 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
- 10GB storage
- 100GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/HyperVM
Servers are probably with Hetzner in Germany. It’s also claime to be “semi-managed” although I cannot find any doco on what is “managed”. The domain is relatively new — registered in October 2009. Moreover it’s a .ORG domain hiding behind domain privacy, which usually spells “dodgy” to me. Both ns1 and ns2 of its main domain points to the same IP address (although `host -t ns veeble.org`
shows that it’s using ns3 and ns4 instead).
Another interesting fact is its IP address. Yes it is in Hetzner, but another organisation has registered for that smallish 32 IP address block according to WHOIS.

Yes the same guy who ran Delimiter.us and sold to Yomura Holding a month and half ago. Coincident?

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
hetzner? i super-want a vps on hetzner. have anyone tried them?
Didn’t he sell it because he was having massive issues actually administering the servers?
Admin:
If you are worried about this being shady then why expose your readers to it by
featuring this company on your website? :)
@Joe — so you rather NOT have those info exposed to the readers, and let them test the water without some opinion?
There were many dodgy providers in the past and I’ve raised issues when I saw one.
Anyway. Giles from Yomura emailed me that he is certain Veeble is not related to neither current nor past Delimiter owners. It’s a client hosting their service on Delimiter’s network.
i have tried the delimiter.us
that a good server and good support.
I just signed up with them. So far so good. Servers are at hetzner and they are very fast. For €3/month you can’t go wrong.
I was just looking a bit arround on this site when I spotted an interesting offer, I visited the site and this is what I got:
http://yfrog.com/jpscreenshotwpp
They are just telling your custommers that they won’t be arrount the next week, and if they’ve got troubles they just have to wait.
This isn’t very pro, I am definately not going to buy a vps here!
I`m the costomer of this vps quarterly since 17 April 2013… I Got Trouble till now n I cant acces my server… I Never Got solution from support.. :P
