Susan, from Virtovo, sent in some special offers for us LowEndBox users! Virtovo is a fairly new company, having launched in December 2013. They offer KVM machines out of Miami, Florida, USA, and out of Vancouver, Canada. Both pretty decent locations connectivity-wise. Vancouver is somewhat of a rare location; I don’t remember us having featured it before. Their host nodes run dual Intel Xeon E5-2620v2 (2.1Ghz) CPUs with 128GB RAM, a minimum of 8 disk in RAID10, and redundant 1Gbps uplinks at the node level. All in all not too shabby! Virtovo is a registered company in England & Wales and is one of the few hosts around here that uses Blesta rather than WHMCS. Susan tells me they have a custom developed plugin for Blesta that allows near full control of your server from within Blesta. IPv6 is available at their Miami location but they are not deploying IPv6 yet because of their dissatisfaction with SolusVM’s IP allocation methods. I can’t say I strongly disagree with that. So, hopefully, after the next SolusVM update, IPv6 will be available with these plans. As a LowEndBox exclusive the hard drive space for these offers is doubled (only in Miami). You do need to open a ticket after ordering to get the disk space doubled. As usual, please share your experiences with us in the comments

I’m really impressed with the service from Virtovo. They’ve had some downtime but they’ve been really good at keeping everyone updated with what’s going on (and the downtime has been because of hardware upgrades). There’s not many VPS providers in Vancouver so that’s also a plus. I’ll post a benchmark later once I get a chance.
Here’s the benchmark from a 512MB RAM Vancouver VPS:
Thanks for posting a benchmark.
virtovo now is a vmcloud company.
Amazing provider. They do occasionally encounter some hiccups but they’re responsible and their support staff is pretty awesome. :)
Thanks for the listing Marteen and thank-you for the positive comments ub3rst4r and Jimmy. Just a note on the bandwidth on the Vancouver location. It is Peer 1 and GTT transit with paid peering to cogent (no transit). It really is a great network arguably the best in the location.
Any chance you’ll have your 512MB Vancouver VPS on special as well?
At the time of writing coupon code ‘smallvan’ still has 8 uses left from an earlier promo. This offers the smallest plan for $3.50/mo. This is a very limited coupon and once it’s gone it really is gone.
It doesn’t seem to work. Everytime I try to apply the coupon code it says “The coupon could not be applied.”
Should be good to go now.
Can I use custom OS images?
Yes not a problem. Simply open a ticket with support to have it added. We just need a wget friendly download of the ISO.
Just to note, the Vancouver plan does not come with the extra 50GB disk space.
I’m looking to switch my web host from a shared hosting solution. Is a VPS easy for a noob to use or should I stick with a different shared hosting solution than my current provider who is having spam issues on my IP.
Hello Shawn,
I think we took care of this in a ticket; however there is no reason you cannot host your website from a VPS (even installing a control panel like Cpanel); however it does require a little more configuration over your standard shared hosting plan.
Just as an update. The 512MB Miami plan is now out of stock. We only have three of the 1GB plans remaining. We’ll be bringing up a new Miami node this week. Plenty of stock available in Vancouver. I’ll message back here when more Miami stock is added.
Miami is now back in stock.
Is coupon recurring for life of the account?
I picked up the Miami KVMH2 plan. Very fast provisioning, as in “instant” (thanks!) and smooth ordering process.
Out of stock? The Maimi plans redirect back to your client portal and the Vancouver plan is giving a 404?
Too bad to see the Miami plans gone. It was the best US-hosted KVM I ever used.
The price is good, I would like to put my site on their server, but I don’t have a paypal to finish the order.
