VPS Ace has been doing business since 2012 and have appeared on LEB several times before. They have a number of locations to choose from both in the USA and Europe. Since we featured VPS Ace last time, they have moved their customers from Lithuania to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Special IP pricing applies to the 1GB+ offers in  the USA, with additional IPs costing just $0.25/IP/month. In The Netherlands, the IPs are $2/IP/month for both offers due to the shortage of IPv4 addresses in Europe. These VPS are hosted on host nodes with E3-1240v2 CPUs, 32GB RAM and 4x 1TB WD RE4 SATA drives in RAID10 with battery backup. 120GB Intel 520SSDs are used to provide SSD caching.

Exclusive Offer #3:

  • 1GB RAM
  • 1GB vSwap
  • Equal CPU Share
  • 75GB SSD-Cached Disk space
  • 1500GB Bandwidth
  • 100Mbps Port Speed
  • 1 IPv4 Address
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
  • $4.5/month | Order

VPS Ace only accepts PayPal due to the extremely high volume of charge backs they receive from direct credit card payments. They offer a money back guarantee during the first 72 hours and a 99.99% uptime SLA. Host nodes are all connected at 1Gbps but VPS are limited to 100Bmps. Legal adult content, IRC and VPN are allowed. IPv6 is unfortunately not available. Servers are automatically provisioned once payment has been received. Also, be sure to read of their Terms of Service before ordering.

Maarten Kossen, since you’re wanting to protect the community, why don’t you mention that VPSACE got hacked and their data is all over the internet?’

    December 9, 2013 @ 3:41 am | Reply
    • Not just hacked, but credit card info was revealed according to whoever was spamming the IRC rooms with it and dropping examples. Guy had 15 minutes of run time before it was noticed and blocked in ‘the other IRC’, but I saw him in #lowendbox for quite longer than that. I’m surprised this hasn’t met the attention of Maarten, as his job is to protect the community members here (his words, not mine). He warned the members against Ash’s new ventures, rightfully so, as the fella has a history of pump and dumps. Though it’s comical his warnings are nowhere to be seen on companies like this.

      >> VPS Ace only accepts PayPal due to the extremely high volume of charge backs they receive from direct credit card payments.

You mean because they were hacked, and their customers CC info was leaked? Even if that ‘did not happen’ the fact they have recieved tons of charebacks should be enough to make you think twice.

      • Also, I’m not saying -dont- sign up. It’s a good deal. Sign up if you want. Just be aware.

I see you’re open for a fair dialog, so let’s give this a shot :-)

For me, the difference between a pump-and-dump and a host that got hacked is that a host that got hacked doesn’t choose for it. It happens to them; they don’t see it coming. It’s something mostly or completely out of their control (depending on their security). How the backlash of such an event is handled is another thing. I don’t know what happened at VPS Ace nor have I ever seen any notice about it. IRC is not the most trustworthy source. That’s no attack on you, but I hope you know what I mean: people are weird at IRC sometimes.

We’ve seen many hosts hacked over the past couple of years and I think it could be grounds for caution, but not for ignoring them. I’ve decided not to mention hacks in offers for a while. Why? The damage has already been done, it has been dealt with and any host would surely prevent such a thing from happening again (to the best of their ability).

Let me ask you this: would you keep mentioning it in offers? If yes, why? What’s the benefit for the customer?

Are you seriously asking this? Maybe it has to do with the fact is has -not- been mentioned by vpsAce themselves? Perhaps it has to do with the fact that, I, as a consumer, would want to know if a potential provider I may wish to do business with has a history of data leaks with no communication to their customers?

It’s simply a warning to potential clients. I ‘keep mentioning it’ because apparently you don’t find it fit to be posted as a warning to potenial clients.

Why don’t we list in all providers who post ads that they got hacked then… to be fair…. that would be a lot of providers that have been compromised.

    >Since we featured VPS Ace last time, they have moved their customers from Lithuania to Amsterdam, The Netherlands.”

They gave their customers less than 24 hours notice of the “emergency” move from Lithuania to the Netherlands last month.
    http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/17005/vps-ace-emergency-node-migration-yet-another-country-change

The email (complete with spelling mistakes) they sent their customers on November 22nd:

    Hello,

This message is to notify you in the next 24 hours, we will be preforming an emergency migration which will require us to move your VPS container from Siauliai, Lithuania to Alblasserdam, Netherlands due to our vendor not being able to province us with additional IP IPv4 space.

We greatly apologize for any inconvenience, and ask if you have any questions, please let us know.

    Best Regards,

Not only was VPSAce hacked, but their WHMCS on disk key to decrypt all customer details, cards, etc. was also taken.

There has been ZERO mention of this anywhere and especially to customers who most certainly are in databases for future fraudulent use.

From their own database (vpsAce) shows PayPal account being used or recently was:
    gateway setting value
    paypal apiusername paypal_api1.vpncast.com

VPNCast is another B2Net/Servermania front company.

    Also owned by same folks:

    n3.ca
    Net3
    Aim2Game
    B2Net
    ServerMania
    SSDVPS

If you doubt it, I highly recommend this thread post:
    https://vpsboard.com/topic/2250-aim2game-b2-net-servermania-chris-niedojadlo-jerzy-niedojadlo-kevin-blanchard/?p=39806

By my count, this B2Net / ServerMania company has oh 15 offers on LEB this year… That has nothing to do with personal relationship with the honorable Mr. Biloh and ColoCrossing… (cough)

As if anyone with sense needed more proof:

    http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=bd26cc76627c61854e1e9ef4fa6c666d&t=1201941

Username: vpncast running ad for Carat Networks on WebHostingTalk… The vpncast user is BANNED.

Carat Networks is owned by Chris Niedojadlo who is mixed up/running/senior person in the entire list of companies above and more.

Why can WHT see through these games but we have issues on LEB?
