WillHosting was established in February 2010 with a mission “to provide Affordable and Reliable hosting services”. This is the first time that we have featured an offer from them on LowEndBox, and we’re told both plans are exclusive. Will Hosting LLC is a legally registered Limited Liability Company in the state of Florida. Unfortunately, no IPv6. Apparently they’re working with the datacenter to get it implemented as soon as possible. This promotion is valid through April 30th or until stock runs out. I only managed to find this ‘review’, if you’re a customer – do share your experience below!

WillHosting accepts payments via all Major Credit Cards and Paypal. Interestingly, they will soon be allowing for payment via echecks – an option that I haven’t seen offered by any provider on here before. We are told that refunds are granted on a case by case basics. Additional IPv4 addresses are $1/each. They allow IRC and most other things as long as they’re legal and don’t effect their other customers. You can view their TOS here.

Network Information:

All of their Servers are hosted on nodes provided by IOFLOOD in a private cage at the PhoenixNAP datacenter in Phoenix, AZ.

    • I misunderstood port speed to mean the maximum download/upload speed. Can anyone tell me what exactly a port speed is? 1Gbit port speed on this offer doesnt seem to translate into 1Gbps download speeds. In fact the download speeds as per benchmark seems equal to that of a 100Mbps connection.

      March 30, 2013 @ 5:05 am | Reply
      • All of our VZ nodes have a min port speed of 1GB. We allow our VPS clients to take full advantage of this as long as it doesn’t effect other customers. We do this through bonding of 1GB ports.

      • Joel,
I think you have a confusion about this. There is a huge difference between 1Gbit/s & 1 Gbps. In 1 Gbit/s, you should get 1024 Mbit/8=125 MBPS. I hope you are now clarified.

        March 31, 2013 @ 5:39 am | Reply
        • Hi,
My understanding was the Gbit/s and Gbps (with a lower case b) are analogous. 1 GB (Gigabyte)=8Gbit (Gigabit or Gb)=1024MB=1024×8 Mbit(Mb).

The upper case B stands for Byte and the lower case b for bit. 1Byte (1B)= 1 bit (1b). The same format is carried over to MB vs Mb and GB vs Gb.

Someone tell me I’m correct. I cant afford to have erred in something as basic as that!

Well to be honest, some of the routes from FDCServers to remote locations are somewhat bad – while others are pretty much able to push the full allotment. This is the only location that is getting on my nerves, and I am in contact with the datacenter about it.

      Sorry to derail Will,

Just picked up a 512 VPS after seeing the benchmarks posted. So far, speedy machine and nothing to complain about. (Plus they have rDNS enabled in the control panel, always a plus.)

Going to keep an eye on it over the next month or so to watch the node stability but all good right now.

    Keep up the good work!

  9. Hello Will,
Could you kindly see my support ticket 726875? VPS automatically provisioned, but I’m unable to SSH into it.

    March 30, 2013 @ 9:31 am | Reply
    • Answering my own post.

Support seems very good at Will Hosting. I did face a couple of inexplicable issues with DNS resolution on the newly provisioned servers along with some routing issues. However support was quick, very much better from my recent provider BlueVM. I’d place support response level on a grade 8 when Myrsk gets 9 and Servermania 7.

My benchmarks mirrored that of John. I bought the 512MB plan.

      March 30, 2013 @ 12:34 pm | Reply
      • Ishaq:

BlueVM is a larger provider, we get hundreds of tickets and therefore response may be slower. I apologize.

        March 30, 2013 @ 2:16 pm | Reply
        • Ishaq, it wasnt only the response to tickets that left a bad impression of BlueVM. From Day 1, I and the rest of your subscribers had issues with non reachable ips. Apparently you were hit by a massive DDOS or so your Twitter account seemed to say. On top of that your Ticket system and main facing website was down for around 24 hours at a stretch, came online for a couple of hours and again died, along with the VPS. In fact, I couldnt get to install anything on the VPS for the first week. The problem recurred even since.

Now, being a big company, one would expect that BlueVM places customer satisfaction as a priority. But comments on LEB and tickets didnt evoke any kind of response from you guys. When you have issues with your service, it’s expected that the service provider gives some kind of compensation like a refund. However BlueVM didnt grace us with any reply to these requests.

So that’s what I mean when I say BlueVM customer support has been terrible. If you take a look at my history on that VPS, you can see that I have logged in less than 10 times. I’m honestly wary of installing anything painstakingly on it, since I can never know when it’s going to be down. I expected the VPS to be working now, weeks from the DDOS attacks, however I logged in to the VPS to do a comparative benchmarks and found that it had been online for just a couple of hours. Since I never rebooted it over these weeks, it’s apparent that it was down…again.

It this is what happens when one trusts a “big” provider like BlueVM, I’m thankful that I’ve kept smaller hosts like MyRSK as my primary providers. I’ve also had experience with Servermania too and both these providers are excellent examples of what good support really means. Having offered low end boxes does not mean a customer should be treated as rubbish.

I’ll be publishing a detailed point by point comparison of all these LEB providers I’ve subscribed to, soon.

Have been waiting well over 24 hours for a response to a ‘Sales’ ticket and they have not yet responded, I emailed them again and still not any further responses from this company. If they don’t respond to sales tickets, what’s to say that they are going to respond to a support ticket when a customer is in need and requires an urgent response. I would stay away from these guys!

    May 14, 2013 @ 10:26 pm | Reply
    • My experience suggests otherwise. Response to sales ticket only suggests that the company is eager to get you (and your money) as a customer. Support to support ticket has been forthcoming. I’ve been using this since the offer, and support was better than some peers here. In fact, I was notified in advance of a possible maintainence downtime.
