LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Sentris is not a good network to run a business on. Its slow, unrealiable and unpredictable
I had a dedicated server with them and there would be days of abysmal performance where their network would run at less than 8megs
they have “uk servers”, though the speedtest link they gave for uk servers is located in Hetzner network, how uk’ish that is, huh.
Thats Germany not UK
i am not sure about Sentris but I’ve had VPS from this company for almost two weeks now (USA server), not 1 second of downtime and they have SLA. their support is very fast and helpful.
I’m not sure how the UK speedtest error happened. That is indeed a problem! (We host some EU solusvm/backup servers with Hetzner, so there must have been confusion. Pains of coordinating staff :[ )
I’ll see to it that it’s fixed, thanks lowend users for pointing it out. :)

P.S. In regard to Sentris, we’ve had servers with them for various projects for more than 6 months with no trouble. One of the better west coast DCs I’ve worked with!
Quite a decent deal but I sometimes question the idea of such small containers <256mb. A $150 server would need at least 30 of these to be profitable. Wont be getting too great of disk I/O when this happens.
Also, the code doesn't seem to work when I tried it with their UK packages.
I am 99.99% sure this is run by the previous owners of delimiter… and if that is the case then you will want to avoid this host like the plague! Design is extremely similar from a development point of view, and the TOS is a direct rip of delimiter’s…
Delimiter have been excellent since the takeover but before that were one of the worst VPS providers I ever dealt with – if this is the case then it will not be long until they have oversold the servers to the point the servers are falling over, then they will sell the business on.
Mr. Harris,
We employ the same Web designer/marketer as Delimiter.us since we like their design, but our staff is completely separate–I haven’t seen Delimiter’s ToS but we modeled ours on SliceHost’s …?
@Matt – Our company does not oversell our servers. Most of the nodes have 16gb memory, several hard drives, and they all perform quite well–we have a method for balancing the clients on each server to maximize resource availability.
great so far. Signed up for VPS-1 when they posted the forum ad, setup was very fast and support was able to hunt down/install some specific software for me.
17:26:31 up 2 days, 14:29, 1 user, load average: 0.00 0.00 0.00 — 100% so far as advertised :)
I like their support staff, always stand-by. Even at midnight their staff reply my ticket at fast.
Have one of them in US server. First time at Seattle, goin’ fast access, but the node always up and down. Then they move me to Chicago. A week in Chicago and satisfied with no down time ever :D
