  3. I bought a VPS (512MB) just recently at YourLastHost.
The delivery took a long time (9 hours) but the senior technician got an error in the process, that’s why.
I did a benchmark if anyone want to see the quality of their VPS: https://serverscope.io/trials/YakX
I’m happy for the service, the VPS doesn’t lag and doesn’t have any issue currently. The only thing that I’m unhappy is the reverse DNS is disabled by default so you’ve to create a ticket for a technician will activate it.
The basic support reply very quickly but if you need a technician it may be take lot’s of time because the basic support crew flag the ticket and you’ve to wait for a reply by a technician.
And apart from that the free shared hosting package isn’t delivered at the same time as the VPS, I think you’ll need to create a ticket to ask it but I don’t really care about this additional package.

      Hi,
Thanks for this detailed information.I would like to know the kernel version it is running. Actually,I want to know if it supports Docker or not. I read that only recent OpenVZ kernels support docker. Can you please let us know the kernel version or docker support.
      Thanks

      January 17, 2017 @ 2:55 pm | Reply
      • The kernel version is: Linux box 2.6.32-042stab116.1 #1 SMP Wed May 4 16:21:02 MSK 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux

If you have any problems with Docker, feel free to reach out and we’ll do our best to get it solved for you.

      Also,
Your benchmark shows 15GB disk, and this post says 75GB.
      Which one is it actually??

Looks like another fail post from the hosting company pretending to be a customer. It is smart to not making it a perfect glow review… but it needs to be perfect in many other aspects like specs

Both 512MB OVZ, Unmanaged and 2048MB OVZ, Unmanaged are the same in price (12$ a year). It does say ‘$5/m – 2048 MB Server’, however, the rest of the specs is the 512MB offer.

Same thing. Just tried now. Both offers are with 512 MB RAM 512 MB vSWAP.

      • Hello,

Sorry for not getting back to you immediately on this. I don’t get a chance to monitor LEB as closely as I would like to, but I noticed this myself a few weeks back, and I went ahead and corrected it then. It looks like the plan text in our billing portal was wrong, but it has since been updated.

Thanks. We currently accept Stripe, BitPay, and PayPal. Is there another payment option you would prefer? If there is demand for it, we will certainly add it.

    Hi there,
Is it possible to install openvpn? is tun/tap enabled?
Would like to stream Youtube Red (for which I have paid, but region restrictions apply where I am now :S).

    Let me know!

    • Hi Steve,

I am really sorry for the late reply on this one — we only check LEB periodically, but I am happy to let you know that we do allow OpenVPN and Tun/Tap. In fact, we are working on an OpenVZ template that will install OpenVPN right out of the gate, if that’s your style.

So, I’ve had their service for about a few weeks. EVERY time I try to reboot from the client area, I can NEVER SSH or RDP back in. I always have to go and open a support ticket. Right now I’ve waited almost a full 24 hours and no reply. Very frustrating.

I had to reinstall the OS to be able to SSH. The bandwidth speeds are good though. No problems other than that.

        Hello,

I am sorry about that, and this is definitely not something that was intended. Could you let me know the ticket ID that you are referring to? I will take a look at why you may be having difficulty connecting to your server after a reinstall.

My experience in the first week:
    – Took 2 days and multiple tickets to get delivered.
    – Once delivered was unusable.
    – After been told the problem was fixed (it wasn’t), have been told my VPS will be migrated to a different node.
    – Still waiting to be migrated.
At this stage I would strongly advise people not to use this service. I will comment again next week if the situation is any different.

      Hi Josh,
I’m really sorry to hear about the issues that you’ve had. If you happen to have a ticket ID, I would be happy to take a look and get everything fixed up once and for all. We strive to have better service than what you have experienced.

VPS was migrated. It took a long time and fio speed was still terrible. Service was cancelled and a refund was issued.

      • Hi Josh,
Thanks for following up. We’ve had some issues with node stability due to some abusers taking advantage of our nodes, but we’ve actually now set up automated abuse scripts that have cut down on this almost entirely. Issues with users monopolizing system resources have been solved almost entirely, and loads on the nodes have dropped as well. I answer almost every ticket at the helpdesk, and I must say that I haven’t seen one related to this since we set up these scripts about a week ago.

As mentioned, I am glad that you did get your refund, and I do hope you give us a try later. We did not know of the scale that this offer would bring, and we are now much more prepared to handle things like this. Anyway, thanks for giving us a try — and if you ever do decide to come back to us — have a month, free, on me. Should you, or any other readers, need any help, feel free to reach out to the Management department in our ticket system or to ask for me.

I’ll give it another 24 hours and if my issue doesn’t get resolved, I’ll let you know why.

As a Chinese, I had a bad experience with YourLastHost.

I bought a VPS from YourLastHost on Jan 17th. Several days later, I noticed that the connection speed was very slow. So I opened an ticket to ask for a new IP address which which the connection speed might be faster. I got the reply on Feb 23th and it looked like this:

    “Hi Box,

Unfortunately, we don’t have any other data center location at this time, only in Jacksonville so the IP address change will not make anything better in regards to latency.

Thank you for your business. If you have any further inquiries, feel free to follow up with us.

I was too busy to forget to ask for the refund at that time. My thought was “I’ll deal with it when I have time.” So I left the VPS alone and didn’t use it since then.

I wasn’t that busy yesterday and noticed that the VPS was blocked by the GFW (Great). So I asked for an new IP address again this morning. And I got the reply like this:

    “Hello,

Unfortunately, an IP address can’t be changed in VPS. Let me know if you want to add another one, which will cost you $1.75 USD Monthly.

Thank you for your business. If you have any further inquiries, feel free to follow up with us.

Their service sucks. I’m not sure whether I can the refund now. But I’m sure I won’t try their service again.

      Several typos:
“which which” should be “with which”
“I was too busy to forget to ask for the refund at that time” should be “I was too busy to ask for the refund at that time”
“I can the refund now” should be “I can get the refund now”

Finally I can access my VPS. But I can’t do anything since running either the “yum update” command or the “wget https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py” command goes wrong.

YourLastHost is the worst VPS provider I’ve ever known.
