LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
RUN, DON’T WALK. “Yourwebhoster” is owned and operated entirely by one man, Daniel Koop. “Yourwebhoster” is a reseller of a reseller (more specifically, WeServIt is a reseller of Netrouting, Koop simply leases servers from WeServIt and then re-resells them as “Yourwebhoster”). Koop won’t state his age and apparently lives with his parents (the “corporation headquarters” of Yourwebhoster is the same address as Koop’s bedroom). Koop’s “Yourwebhoster” website isn’t hosted on the reseller block given to him by WeServIt because Koop doesn’t want his website collapsing like his clients’ VPS sites do. Koop’s KVK number was obtained only a few months ago because Koop was found to be charging customers VAT for over a year and a half and quietly stuffing all that VAT money in his jeans (there’s a thread on WHT pushing Koop to get licensed). Koop refers to himself as “we”, “our” and “us”, and sometimes pretends to be someone else and refers to himself in the third person. Koop talks very pacifically and makes lots of promises, but the promises ultimately don’t come true. I’m a former customer who has experienced repeated lies, repeated downtime and repeated data loss as a direct result of Koop’s gross mismanagement. I was taken in by the price and I learned my lesson the hard way. Please benefit from my mistake and avoid this swindler.
Thanks LowEndFan. I did some investigation on Daniel Koop and mastersofpyro site prior to posting this, and could not find anything conclusive. Thanks for the warning.
I think you’re right about Daniel reselling Weservit stuff, but I don’t think Weservit is reselling Netrouting stuff. As far as I know they just rent rackspace from Netrouting.
I actually had an email conversation with Daniel about his VPS service, but he didn’t sound very professional.
Hi
LowEndFan is right, we did lost a few times his data, that was in the time Yourwebhoster.eu was onofficial and not a serious business. Since Januari we are official and over the last few months our servers had a 100% uptime.
But there are some things wrong here. The VAT was only listed on the invoice but 0%, also we don’t resell from weservit. Our servers are in a rack rented from Weservit, which explains why there is a weservit hop.
We are happy to show LowEndFan that we can offer you 100% uptime without any data loss anymore, therefore I offer you one year free VPS 2 on a brand new VPS node, just contact us.
Dufu, I have contacted you because I can always use feedback to improve the service.
Avoid liar Daniel Koop like the plague. A few emails showing his screw-up in March, when VPS customers yet again experienced several days of downtime and yet again ended up losing all of their data:

You probably already knew that our servers are connected to the Netrouting network. Netrouting has a new room and because of that, we have to move our servers to the new room. The move will take approxmatialy 15 minutes per server.

Unfortunately there are still some servers unreachable caused by a network problem. Unfortunately we are unable to fix the problem as some files were damaged while updating (the XEN kernels), we are apologize for this.
From: “Yourwebhoster.eu”
Subject: Server fail

We had planned to do an update on our servers before the server move. Unfortunately two of our servers had problems while updating the servers and now the VPSes on it fails to start. One server is a VPS node, the other server hosts a web server of us. We will give every VPS service a new fully virtualized VPS.
Correction: the data was not lost, it was backuped and you could have downloaded the backup.
