Eydrian from TheServerExpers emailed me yesterday about their exclusive offer to LowEndBox readers. Use coupon code LowEndBox to get $2/month off their VPS Beginner package. That makes the whole package $5.95/month. Promotion expires end of August 2010.
- 512MB memory
- 20GB storage
- 1000GB/month data transfer
- 2 IP addresses
- OpenVZ/vePortal
Servers in Scranton PA. That would make it the same price as their launch specials.

Andrew @ 123Systems –
Weren’t you planning on stopping by their datacenter? Did you ever get a chance?
It seems they are one of Burst Reseller :-?
@AZGuy
I sent them numerous e-mails (5 total) asking them if i could tour their cages, None were replied too. So I’m not sure what happened there. I went up there like i had planned to do from the beginning however i never got to take my side trip to TheServerExperts private ‘racks’;’cages’.
I guess this would make customers question a ton of different things including are they actually burstNET resellers, However i can not say since they ignored my e-mails requesting to see their cages;racks.
They do seem to have many staffs though — from the previous blog post every other comments seem to be from someone different at TheServerExperts.
I Suppose, the fact if they are resellers or not could be confirmed if we had a ip to trace route :)
@ Daniel Meah – Well they are definitely inside the BurstNET datacenter. They say that they have their own cages there though.
The thing that makes me scratch my head is that basically all of their products are exactly the same as BurstNET. I know they say they don’t want to ‘reinvent the wheel’… but cmon. Why would you want to sell all the exact same products as the datacenter you’re hosting with?
@AZGuy
You can tell by a simple trace route on windows/linux
Example:
10 93 ms 93 ms 97 ms vl0012.gwy01.sctn01.hostnoc.net [80.239.193.254]
11 95 ms 93 ms 93 ms ec1-19.agg04.sctn01.hostnoc.net [96.9.191.10]
12 93 ms 92 ms 107 ms ec0-61.bf2803.sctn01.hostnoc.net [96.9.184.61]
13 93 ms 102 ms 93 ms vserver173.hostnoc.net [64.120.201.74] (this is how you can tell :)
14 94 ms 94 ms 93 ms
I normally don’t mind signing up under a reseller so long as the price is lower.. but if it costs the same then there’s really no incentive.
Hello Andrew,
Can you sent proof of those 5 email you sent (headers/etc), we reply to all emails, and i’m pretty sure that’s not the case, since i’m the person who normally grands a client access to our racks, and i havn’t receive an email from you in the last few weeks. I also think you should tone down your reply’s your obviously trying to advertise with your Username(url-link) users can notice this from all your reply in almost every provider’s thread on LowEndBox you don’t have to comment on every topic. You have enough trouble to handle and i recommend you spent a bit more time managing your “company” eg: Rude staff or you company missing a mailing list, and don’t forgot you said client’s who pay 3$ or less are not your priority.
If you want a tour of our private racks inside the burstnet facility (over 8 racks) you need to get a written permission from us.
For the last time, we own all our own hardware/equipment, burstnet provides us with there excellent network upstream and ip address spaces.
We have been in business for over 9 years now, so when it comes to surviving all the up and downs you can rest assure we will be there, not like those new flyby night companies.
Hello AZGuy,
Why change a winning team they say? or change a winning formula?
We have great success with our packages, people love them and they are here to stay.
Thank you
Hey I am quite sure that they are BurstNET’s reseller… if there is any existing client simply give your VPSID to BurstNET to let them verify if what I stated is true.
BTW they released their “Premium VPS” right after Burst has did that.
When TheServerExperts had this sale last December I bought a server and I have loved it since. It performs well, their Support Team is always available on their Live Support Chat and even when I put in a support ticket I get almost a instant response. Oh..and they have already deployed IPv6. If I pull up the Live Support Chat and begin talking to the tech, they instantly jump to fix the problem, so I highly doubt they are just a reseller.
They also provide a FREE 10GB FTP Backup Account. I don’t see how they could be making money in adding that to the 5.95 deal and just being a reseller.
We won’t know until someone tours their racks or not.
@Thomas
Its easy to create a FTP account on a server :) or even vps

9 years? Your domain has only been registered since 2004 — where does the extra 3 years come from?
Hello AZGuy,
Correct 6 years on TheServerExperts and 3 years on our old internet brand (digital-root.com) no longer being used.
Thank you,
That’s it guys. All you hosting-experts-failing-Internet-manner. There are places for conducting flame wars but not here.
Hello,
Just wanted to remind everyone that the offer will expire on August 31, 2010.
It offer may return in the near future.
Cheers
“We were notified by The Server Experts yesterday that they are closing their doors. This happened about a week after they mass canceled a lot of servers and services (Some other services are still running).
Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do about the services already canceled. If it was a resold VPS the containers had been destroyed, and any dedicated servers had already been recycled by the time we were made aware.
While we would have preferred The Server Experts allowed us (or another reseller) the chance to transfer services, as opposed to abrupt shuttering of its cyber-windows, they did nothing wrong from a business standpoint on our side. Bills were paid and services were canceled. They conducted business with us same as always.
For those of you who lost a server or service, please contact our sales department sales@burst.net.
Please give us your IP and hostname. We will see what we can do to help you get your server back online, or we’ll give you a special code to get a discounted service (Same or greater) with us directly.
We are sorry our reseller may have caused you any inconvenience and we’re going to help as best we can.
Also, please take this experience to prompt yourself to BACKUP YOUR DATA REGULARLY and store it OFFSITE.”
