Via this WHT offer. BigBrainHost has introduced their latest low end VPS offers, starting from $6.99/month for OpenVZ based hosting. You also get 40% off first month with coupon code 40offbigbrain. Ordering link here.
- 384MB guaranteed/1024MB burstable memory
- 10GB storage
- 5Mbps unmetered bandwidth
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
The 5Mbps unmetered bandwidth makes me think that the servers might be in Kansas City, although in their server status page one server is in South Bend IL and the other one in Los Angeles CA. Note their website is hosted on a Thurst::VPS node in LA. Also note that BigBrainHost is the one that acquired AgniHost earlier this month, and their hosting plan might just be the same plans on the same servers (thus in Kansas City).
Domain is currently WHOIS protected, which I think is not so good for a customer-facing business. AgniHost.com however is not masked so you can get the contact information there. Domain has been registered since June this year so pretty new service. Adjacent name servers and running cPanel on the same box. Well. Someone did say some good thing about this provider.

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Virpus Reseller…
Virpus does not even have that plan. But I agree that it could very well be in the same DC as Virpus.
That Plan for Reseller Only
Thank you for the review. 🙂
We did acquire Agni Host earlier this month. With the acquisition came the existing clients and therefore the reseller packages offered during their time of operation.
However, we are in the process of testing some new nodes. Once the new nodes are completely tested, anyone that wants to migrate will be offered a complete free month of service. We have also been working out some details on some exclusive dedicated server offerings which we hope to announce in the very new future.
Anyone that has any concerns or questions can email us directly, info@bigbrainhost.com.
