LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
I believe examples #1 and #2 are both for shared/reseller hosting although their service looks pretty good for VPS’s too.
My Spidey sense is tingling for both of those reviews. The first one has a non functioning blog link as their sig. But yet they just recently signed on to spam for another host. Their last login was in fact today but yet they haven’t updated their sig link? And most if not all of their posts are promotional? Something isn’t right.
And the other review never got around to providing any proof as requested twice. And it was for a dedicated server anyway.
*shrug* Could be all peachy keen though….
Just found this post. Both posters are talking about image hosting? Another +1 to the iffy column.
I dont understand, what does that have to do with this host?
There’s a comment before that one that’s in moderation because of the links. Once LEA passes it, it’ll make sense.
Sorry for the confusion.
That and the fact we’ve seen this template 2 – 3 times before…
Francisoc
Its rare to not see a host using this template .
Umar is a client of BibiHost since 2009. He also worked for us in 2009 and 2010. This may clarify some of your doubts :P
Just thought I would add, i am Umar and my blog is working and has been for some time now. I also run a free host and MaximumHost.net as well as personal sites, blog and main pages for both hosts. All of this is hosted on one shared account with BibiHost, the actual hosting i provide is done via three servers I own :)
So you have a real person who has been with this company right here, feel free to ask anything :p
I tought that was prohibited keep wrong informations in the WHOIS :/
ICANN highly recommend you have correct info, and punish registrars that don’t try and keep people hiding.
