Since XenServer is used, I am not sure what sort of in-house panel does it use for restarting/re-imaging the VPS (if there’s any). It appears that only 64bit OS are available. They have got a comprehensive page on their data center here, and they are based in St. Louis MO. You could probably use their website (IP: 216.87.32.148) for ping test. You’ll also learn about Hostirian from their About page — part of River City Internet Group, founded in 2001 and hosting > 5000 servers. It started way back in 1995 as Primary Network (owner of IP block from WHOIS), and now providing services ranging from colocation to shared hosting to server managements, but you also have to visit River City Internet Group’s website to see their wide range of Internet-related services.
I have never used their services, but it DOES NOT look like a brand that will be in dead pool a year from now.

Well if you liked this $4.46 plan- you would notice that the next plan is $19 so you basically feel that you cannot just upgrade. Just my opinion.
Well of course you can upgrade — you just have to pay for it :) Not uncommon for companies to provide little treat to hook customers in.

Nah, bait and switch is when they don ;t allow you to have the lower price item or they only have one of them. Boils down to you can;t have the lower price item and your only option is the higher priced one.

Bait and switch is when they advertise a cheap item ($4.46 XenServer VPS, CHEAP!!1!!), and then by the time you get through the checkout process it turns out to be out of stock. Then a sales rep pops up apologising that the low end server is no longer available, but they do have stocks for next level up — at 4x the price!

Their website does look well prepared and written for the most part. I have to wonder though why they have Popularity numbers on each page. While that data is important to some, I have to wonder why it’s displayed to visitors.
I really wish datacenters would actually list their colocation prices too. No, I’m not interested in waiting for a quote. At least give me a price range.

No VPS Panel for OS Reloads and they wanted to charge $100 for an os reload. Also, You have to email support for the Terms of Service. They don’t have one on the website.

I ordered the same plan. I had to e-mail sales to get the Terms Of Service and I had to ask twice to get that. Then the VPS comes with no panel for OS Re-load and I had the same problem of them want 100.00 to re-install the OS
This vendor has provided good service.
Provisioning was not automatic. Some back-and-forth was required to get the provisioning in order.
Connectivity is good, with the co-op serviced by Level(3).
We have had no billing or operational problems.
We highly recommend this vendor.
I’ve had absolutly no problems with these guys, if anything they’ve been responsive and very helpful. I have two VPSs with these guys and both run great and I get excellent bandwidth speeds (up and down). They are pretty cool about helping me out (locking myself out of my server they got me back in without any hassle or charge!!). They let you run proxies and whatever. They got onto me about my robomailer server so I had to change some stuff on it so it wouldn’t throw up spam flags all the time.

I asked about the OS reload fee and they said if you have an excessive number of OS reload requests per day you may be charged a reload fee of $10 dollars not $100.
So I’d have to wonder how many times some of the users on here requested a reload. LOL
We have never charged $100.00 for an OS Re-install. We Generally do this for no charge at all however we do reserve the right to charge for excessive use of support. Needing to re-install your OS several times in a day or even in a month is excessive. In the past 10 years I can only recall 2 customers that we told we would need to start charging them for OS reloads. Keep in mind that before we charge we advise the customer that this is the last time we will reload the server for free. I preferred not to put a hard and fast rule on when we charge for a reload because We understand that sometimes it is needed and we would rather look at each situation based on the needs of each customer.
We have never charged a customer for an OS reload without informing them before hand and giving them at least 3 reloads for no charge sometimes more.
