Ken from UptimeVPS emailed me last month their “introductory offer” (although Ken also claimed that they have been running for just under a year). With coupon code INTRO2 you can get their Xen VPS plans with 70% off recurring discount. Their “UT-128” would be €1.50/month (~USD$2.17) after the discount. Direct order link here.
- 128MB memory/256MB swap
- 10GB storage
- 100GB/month data transfer
- Xen/SolusVM
PayPal is the only payment option. Alternatively, if you are game enough for yearly payment, you can also use promo code INTRO to get the same plan for €9/Year (~USD$13.03, via this WHT offers). Servers with OVH in France. Domain registered in October 2010 by Ken in UK. TOS can’t be found on the site. In fact the info on the site seems to be quite lacking.
Update: Due to Xen routing issue, UptimeVPS has moved to OpenVZ VPS with the following spec at no extra cost (see Ken’s comment here).
- 384MB guaranteed/768MB burstable memory
- 30GB storage
- 300GB/month data transfer
Ordering link here. This Xen issue would have raised some doubt on the technical competency of this provider…

“OpenVZ/SolusVM” should it be xen?
Thanks. Post updated.
Although I do not think that OVH has a good speed linking to my country or U.S. I still wanna get the test ip and maybe test.bin to have a try since the price is great.
They have Routers in USA too http://weathermap.ovh.net/usa
http://proof.ovh.net/files/ for test file.
Well i felt adventuros today so i bought the 9 euro plan. I paid with paypal ofc, and the recipent addresse is paypal@utvps.co.uk . Co i checked and that domain is not even registered (utvps.co.uk). So i think this is all a scam. Sadly.
It may well be a scam especially when they are using a free website template.
Matthew don’t be silly, Not everyone wants to get ripped of by spending hundreds on a template.
Yeh but is $25 on a theme forest site hard enough to spend?
Because if you can’t even afford that then why start a hosting company up?
Cannot afford is different from deliberately choose not to. We have no idea why the said provider is using a free template. However I have NEVER paid for a design after running various websites for 15 years. Somehow it’s just no my priority.
Oops, Source: http://www.freecsstemplates.org/preview/standardissue/
I don’t think it matters in anyway what kind of template they are using. Also calling them a scam for this is ridiculous.
what scam??? 1$??? LOL
if raise the price to 100$ its not a scam???
Just updating. Still no vps setup. Propability of this being a huge scam 99.9%
With over 12 years experience in the industry you would expect a Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and an Acceptable Use Policy also.
I suspect the 12 years experience may perhaps be in the industry of Life.
Not every provider is setting up orders instantly. I think you should wait at least 24 hours and maybe after it you should worry. And I also think it is a really bad thing, when your VPS is not ready in hours you call them “scam”. Give them a chance and wait until they deliver your VPS!
Their using WHMCS, so automated setup is a doddle.
Saying that, the SolusVM Admin API is even easier.
I know WHMCS/SolusVM supports automation. But lot of providers tend to do it manually, because they want to check the orders. Also when a company gets his offer posted on LEB, if the offer is good they will get a “sales boom” and will have problems to deliver the servers so fast.
I am actually in agreement with Christian here. I don’t see why people would label a provider “scam” within hours of ordering. While their website rings quite a few alarm bells, I won’t be so hasty putting such label on them (yet).
Let’s see how things play out in the next 24 hours.
Well when you summarize all the things that are wrong, it looks clearly to me. I will point whats wrong:
Free templete
No ToS
No Policies
Paypal email adress does not exist
Support does not reply to tickets
Their adresse (62 Portman Road, Reading, Berkshire, RG30 1EA) is in fact a Self Storage Service, so no offices there.
What more you need to label someone a scam?
When they actually scammed you the money?
Being suspicious does not equate someone to be a scam. The list of fails would surely deter people from buying from them, but you can only technically call someone a scam when they have really scammed you money — which in your case it *might* actually be the case, but we’ll see.
The direct order link shows
Setup within 1 hour, subject to fraud screening.
No ToS? Looks like you’re free to do whatever you want, wink wink.
Surprised that nobody pointed out that 3 of their 4 name servers is a XenVZ.co.uk vps ;0 (and the same one!)
Now why would anyone bother setting up 4 name servers for a domain, when 3 of the 4 are the same IP running off the same VPS?
Another fishy thing is that you need a certain post count on WHT to be able to post in the offers section (10 posts). He got to the 10 post minimum by posting short/dumb comments randomly around the board and then immediately posted his offer.
Feel free to report every single one of his posts for spam then :)
It looks like he spent $50 for premium membership on WHT.
£99 one. most user’s seem to use this.
Hello Folks.
Paypal issue will be resolved within the next hour or two.
I have emailed the LEB Admin regarding issues surrounding our Xen nodes with IP routing.
If anyone would like to place an order we shall be upgrading them to a OpenVZ plan of the following specs.
384MB Memory
768MB Burstable
30GB Disk Space
300GB Bandwidth
1 IPv4 Address
Appreciate there are a few issues which shall be sorted by today.
We welcome anyone to try us for 7 days from then you will be able to make your own decision on whether we are a scam company or not.
Coupon 7DAYS
Ken.
Will you have XEN too? Or only OpenVZ?
And this coupon isn’t available anymore?
Seems that the Xen VPS aren’t avaliable anymore. Only OpenVZ one. Also the 128mb ram plan have the same annual price of the 384 one (9€/y). Quite strange, IMO.
Hello
For the time being, please order via the following link which shall iron out any more confusion.
https://secure.uptimevps.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=7
Got one of the free, seems ok, ip 46.105.251.106
Hi,
OVH and without IPv6? This is not good offer ;)
ovh is probably one of the best in Europe
Definitly not. Not if you plan to use a system on a professional base. Its fine for private purposes, though.
But this NOT.
Yeah! Try change disk or have others problems …
Name me one network ( Hosting network ) in the Europe Better than OVH ( Excludes Leaseweb )
Their european network is great, but transit is horrible. Speeds to USA are measured in KB/s :(
Hetzner, Equinix Düsseldorf and Zürich, Burstnet Manchester they do have a better network.
Only one? I can name you many: Interxion (Dusseldorf), Equinix (Dusseldorf), Lambdanet (Berlin), HostEurope (Cologne), EBM (Basel), Interxion (Vienna), Cogent (London).
I was gonna say most of the ones Tom has. You also have WorldStream. Lambdanet you will find peers most of these networks directly with multi-10gbps, including OVH, Equinix, Leaseweb, Hetzner.. and many others that arn’t listed here. My suggestion Daniel, dont talk out your ass! There are a LOT of better data centers than OVH, just not as many willing to give away dirt cheap server for all the n00bs and highschoolers to purchase for their game servers (and start-up vps companies). In fact, you will find most of the networks listed a lot better routed than OVH and a lot less crowded. There is a reason OVH is so cheap….
“dont talk out your ass”
Carefull not to annoy the wrong people.
“In fact, you will find most of the networks listed a lot better routed than OVH and a lot less crowded.”
Yet most of these networks are on a Very small 10Gbps.
Some info
Can you run geekbench?
http://v2.lowendtalk.com/questions/9331/how-to-use-geekbench-to-benchmark-your-vps
Hey Ken,
I am guessing here, but you probably were using bridging when you setup xen, you need to look into using the ‘routing’ option instead of using bridging. Bridging doesn’t work in all setups. Also depends on what dist your using for you node, my suggestion is sticking to CentOS. Its not that hard to setup… just do a bit more research.
Just my 2 cents.
Good Luck!
Any update from clients? Their price is very attractive and I am tempted however something is telling me that this story last long.
the paypal email’s domain was registered on the 29th, Relevant dates:
Registered on: 29-Aug-2011.
If i remember correctly, that means paypal account must of been made on that day too?
The may have added tne email address to an existing Paypal account instead of creating a new Paypal account.
UptimeVPS is adding the following low end plan. However as their post is pretty recent (< 30 days), I won’t post a new entry for them.
Direct sign up link
Xen I presume as swap memory was stated.
Hi,
I’ve tested this provider, I bought him a first server, was ready in less than 2 hours. It works great, tested some hdd performance with a > 16G file (dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=16K count=2048k) the min is 190Mo/s, reading might certainly ve affected by the zeros >3,3Go/s, band with is good, and performance is here, it’s like a real server (no like igxhosting, where going from ssh login to bahs takes minutes….).
I bought a second server, it was ready in less than 10 mns. It was the VPS ones.
Just my two cents…
Just bought one 384 (monthly). Setup is almost instant. And I was just confused. On the cart I chose CentOS 6, then the cpanel tells me it’s Operating System: CentOS 5 x86_64 and uname -a tells me this
Just submitted ticket for TUN/TAP enabling.. waiting…
Wow. looks like they need a kernel update!
Why? RHEL5 normally has 2.6.18, this probably is a OpenVZ beta or RHEL6. Someone can comment if has VSwap?
Is this what you’re looking for?
Well, I am not sure, because I haven’t used an OpenVZ vps in a RHEL6 node. But if the kernel version is like that, and that /proc/swaps is like you say, then you are using RHEL6 for these OpenVZ 384MB plans right?
I’m not sure too ’cause I’m very new on VPSs…
/dev/null
swap partitions — yes these are OpenVZ VSwap nodes. They published a link to their TOS on WHT but not on their site. TOS: http://uptimevps.com/terms.pdf
Wow, checked out the signup link and found they are selling a 128MB vps for 5 euros a year.
This is really fishy.. we got providers that fail at $15/yr and now to try at 5 euros
proceed with caution!
it’s 9e/year which is about $14
It’s 5e/y now already.
https://secure.uptimevps.com/cart.php?gid=2 5 euro/year offer
But i’m not endorsing this product at all, buy at your own risk ;0
Just bought 1, looks nice to me.
Yes some nodes are CentOS 6 with VSwap. Not fishy at all just a business practice to gain solid reputation on support and service. Sorry if some feel this is a scam but we are not selling hundreds or thousands unlike some. I look forward to 6 months to a years time when we prove we are in the market for the long hall.
With regards to the site, would you rather a flashy expensive design which gives false illusion into service? Or something that gets the job done? Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither are businesses.
Hi Ken, I was just wondering on the node where I am in. This CPU info normal? 800MHz? Or is it just me?
On the other node:
I have 3 vps with Ken, this guy never sleeps.
get some sleep sometime, ken.
You know who I am,:) Kept talking about sleeping…..
I agree, I have 2 with Ken too. And support is awesome.
I’ve purchased a 128M(dedicated, no burst) low end annual plan today. And when I issue a ticket for TUN/TAP issue, I’ve got a quick and kind response. The experience is nice, and the price is brilliant.
The only pity is the internet link from my locate(CN) to server has a high ping for 4xx-6xx.
here is some test results on this tiny VPS. :)
@Marc You are on Dom17 with an AMD 6 core processor. I shall open up two more cores for you.
I am in the same node too, 384MB plan and I see the same amount of CPUs
Thanks Ken! :D Very much appreciated.
Can you enable PPTP VPN on your OVZ boxes?
@Yomero Please submit a ticket and I shall get this sorted for you.
Ticket submitted to Support section. Thanks
just ordered a vps! seems good and also a good price :)
I have seen this website design from somewhere….
I cant install mysql!!! someone have the same problem? or someone can help me?
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’
I tried everything but nothing!
the file mysql.sock not exist also in tmp folder! I check the my.cnf and its good
I think that its a host file problem
128mb is very low amount memory for MySQL. Can you tell your server MySQL version?
mysql-server-5.0.92-lxcenter.1.i386
Ahm, is mysql running?
mysql is running without problems on my 128mb. more than 60mb still free.
@zx123,
You need to start mysqld service to make sure it is listening.
Anyone notice their WHMCS is completely down?
Server not found
Firefox can’t find the server at secure.uptimevps.com.

Up for me too:
Looks like some issue with my DNS, thanks a lot guys :)
Are the VPS still working properly ? I think I’ll take one. But I prefer to ask first because I am an old hostrail customer and my current vps is at HostSign…
I have two and they are running without any problems.
Hi,
We’ve been sizing up the nodes and have placed another 20 in stock.
Order link. https://secure.uptimevps.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=7
You said you were not selling hundreds of these packages and now stacked up 280 nos of 384mb package.
Should we still not be cautious?
And you took down your own website today for atleast an hour(I only checked for that long trying to buy one). How well would our vps boxes fare?
I held back my own purchase decision after seeing the new stock. (I m really not worried about loosing 9 euros. Just don’t like that bad feeling and the effort of shifting boxes)
Honestly, I am not indicationg anything going seriously wrong. However, would love to see your justifiable explanation.
Wish you best of luck in maintaining all those pretty little boxes for years to come.
I attempted to contact you guys asking whether it was ok to run an IRC channel bot to keep my PC-help channel alive and a VPN endpoint (have family over there) on one of these, contacted twice and have not received a response.
Are you still selling? does the pre-sale contact form work?
@veer
We’ve deployed more nodes. 9 linux 20 Windows. We also have monthly clientel too so all services and servers are covered. We currently operate dom1 – dom 20 for linux and virtuozzo.win.1 right though to win.20.
We already have a 5 figure turn over per month, not entirely sure what all the bad heat is about, maybe some substantial facts would like to be presented to myself?! Generally speaking.
@myco, no sales enquiries I believe. Do you have a ticket number?
Ken
It doesnt give a ticket number
>Portal Home > Pre-Sales Contact Us

Thats all i get
Like i said all i wanted to know is if it is ok to run an IRC bot on it to keep the channel where we chant and help people with PCs open. I know a lot of hosts have issues with IRC, tho mostly IRC servers and i am not going to use one of those. Is just something for a crippled ex technician to do.
Would also like to run a VPN endpoint on it
Wondered if those things were ok, soon as i get a yes i will hit buy
@myco
Thanks for raising this, should be resolved now. Some custom fields in whmcs wasn’t filled out correctly.
VPN is no problem at all, we can enable tun/tap and ppp for you. Also IRC is no problem at all.
Ken.
good god – 7 minutes from email sent to ppp enabled
a vps that reboots in 4 seconds dead for this money
somebody pinch me I’m dreaming
Here is the 96MB.com VPS review about them, I think overall the performance is pretty good, some minor hiccups here and there but I am sure given some time, the results would be resolved:
http://www.96mb.com/96mb-low-end-vps-review-part-xxiv-uptime-vps/
Interesting, thanks.
This seems to be in a RHEL5 node?
Mmm…how can you tell what is the operating system of the node from the VPS? Is it somewhere hidden in the uname -a output?
If their using SolusVM, its CentOS 5.6+, and most likely 64bit.
@Daniel: But can you tell if it is CentOS 5 or 6 from the uname output?
Nope, that just shows the Kernel.
If you got a OpenVZ with the kernel version being 3, then its CentOS 6, or if you have VSWap, its also CentOS 6.
@Daniel: I see, learned something new today, thanks a lot!
Hi,
Some nodes are are Centos 6 and some Centos 5
Just to let everyone know a new site is up, be sure to check regularly on the special offers page.
We have also added brief network details for the time being. We shall now build on this. 100% Unique.
Ken.
Site looks better now. You should start with something like that. Only thing which I still missing are some company.. or whatever real contact infos as “about us” seems like standard more or less useless “we are bla bla…” and “contact” bring us to anonymous whmcs page instead real contact page. If you fix this and show us finally some REAL contact info it would give more credibility to your “company”.
Oh and another thing.. what’s with this © Copyright 2009-2011 (http://uptimevps.com/index.html) or even more strange © Copyright 1999-2011 (http://uptimevps.com/about-us.html).
1999 is most likely mistake (left from template?) while 2009 most likely lie to give more credibility to page as even your domain isn’t that old and you give us no reason to believe that you started under some other name before.
I’ve got two of the 5euro/year VPS, but the CPU configurations are radically different. One VPS seems to be unthrottled, the other is this. Dom16/Dom17.
2 cores of this — both 800MHz
My guess would be AMD Cool’n’Quiet was enabled on the node :P
You should’ve loaded with something CPU-intense, and check if cat /proc/cpuinfo changed.
You are completely right! Fluctuated a lot during a Unixbench.
herpes@ns8:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep MHz
cpu MHz : 2000.000
cpu MHz : 2300.000
Hi,
No problem at all. All taken care of. Thank you for the feedback. Hope this thins out doubts and gains some credibility.
Ken.
Better and better. Thank you.
CPU 800MHz seems to be throttled, not lucky.
Disk test:
Download test:
I thought so too, but rm pointed out the power saving feature that could be causing it.
No, the cpu is really capped
I ram Unixbench and checked proc/cpuinfo — It jumped from 800MHz to 2300MHz. Could be though..since it looks like there’s no real uniform node configuration they use…
Here’s my concern:
domain: uptimevps.com
created: 31-Oct-2010
last-changed: 02-Dec-2010
registration-expiration: 30-Oct-2011
What’s the problem? We are only on 22 September. Over a month left… Just because someone doesn’t renew a domain for 10 years etc doesn’t mean they cannot be trusted. Only a fool would think otherwise ( Usually a WHT fool)
I got my domains on auto renewal, hardly does expr date say say anything.
C’mon that doesn’t mean anything!
My speeds is the lowest of everyone else who has posted here :( And the cpu is throttled. DOM14
Frankly, so far it is almost too good to be true:
excellent service
no unexpected reboot (ok, only 10 days, but I’ve seen daily reboots on many other hosts)
very good speed (hosting a gallery v2), no slow down
cpu speed is varying but it is not really impacting real world use.
all this for the cheapest VPS price one can find so far, all on my favorite network!
THANKenS :)
Here also, ticket answered in 1 (!!!) minute.
My second VPS with them.
Stable so far.
ive bought a server there for hosting our gamefiles (offsite mirror) and the hosting a pretty amazing
Support: 10/10 (fast & good)
Network: Perfect speeds
Price: More then good!
Got two VPS with them and got a say up till now support is great!
Dont mis our special deals!
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1086702
It would be nice to see your special deals, but I’m blocked from accessing them…
You should also include 2CO Payment Method, for Credit Card Payments because Paypal is not supporting all countries. Specially my Country
this company is a whole scam! dont even buy a server from them… they cap your cpu, thier support is unfriendly!
You fool, How does that make them a scam.
aimKa, let me know if you find as cheap as them, with a support as reactive and geekbench results as high. Good luck! Your post is a scam, not them :)
I found their support is friendly and willing to help.
For the price i say its very good.
Their support is fast and helpful. Their prices are dirty cheap. Their performance is good. So why do you think they are scam? Do you know what scam means?
I have some doubts too.. and only future will tell.. however this what I get now is far from scam – service they offer work as it should, support is relatively fast and friendly. There are some inconsistences in their operation but service which they offer isn’t problematic and I see no reason for complain.
@aimKa — It would be much more helpful if you can state the specific reason why you think they are scamming you? Capping the CPU (pretty common in VPS) and unfriendly support (subjective, but again happens all the time in hosting) are probably just you dissatisfaction with this provider, but won’t make them scams?
Turn to the dark side. 96 pixel flashing text. You know you want to, LEA. :)
you are a scum,
Ken, this new website is very nice and clean :) I like it.
@Spirit Thank you. :)
I got their 128/256 VPS today, took like 10h to be activated but I didn’t mind this – it was really late in the night anyway.
Their network is decent too, I got 57.8Mb/s download speed in a test and I am able to max out my connection while testing their upload (640kb/s). VPS is pretty fast overall.
While it’s too early to say anything as I got it today, as long as they keep this way, I will be their customer. This VPS is for personal torrent/rapidleech and I don’t use it a lot so it basically sits there all day using 40MB memory, but I will probably get another VPS with them soon to host a website, just waiting a little bit to see if there’s no down time and such. :)
No new signups in France. Does it mean VPS at OVH will be terminated?
@blacky please submit a ticket, to make us aware of an issue.
@blacky sorry worked ragged and tired :) We are awaiting more Ips for the France location.
UptimeVPS scammed me and does not honour their TOS. I cancelled my services with them (UT-128) within 4 days and am eligible for a refund as per their TOS. Every email and ticket I raise is met with a template response – “I can assure you your refund has been processed”. I haven’t received a dime yet and its been over 3 weeks now. The excuse each time is “paypal takes 3 days to clear”. Yeah, 3 days .. not 3 weeks!
@Ken
do you care to explain why you simply keep deleting my tickets and not respond? Is this the kind of service you provide? I can post screenshots here to prove that you keep deleting my tickets. I can post your email responses here about your “assurances” to refund me. So, where is it? Your tactics are eerily similar to the plethora of fraudsters in this webhosting business. Can you atleast respond here since you are aren’t responding to my tickets?
Maybe giving the ticket numbers would be helpful?
Well, Ken has either closed or deleted all of my tickets. Just to shed light on his shady practices, take a look at this screenshot of my latest ticket here. If you follow the url in the screenshot (here), you’ll get an error saying “ticket not found”. That’s because he has simply deleted it. Yup. That’s how you provide service to your customers. Just delete their ticket and assume they don’t exist.
Just process my d*mn refund, will you?
A refund was processed! It came out of my bank 3 days after it was done.
If there’s a problem, submit a claim we shall soon get this sorted out BUT I am adamant a refund was processed.
Then why can’t you just email me the proof of payment? I’ve asked for this every single time but you haven’t sent me any confirmation yet.
Got 2 of their UT-1024 plans and the vps’s are running more or less perfect.
VPS located in France = Pings are stable, Bandwidth is consistent, CPU doesnt appear limited. Just wished they offered these deals in Australia :(, through that would be asking to much.
VPS located in USA = Pretty much the same as my box in France, i noticed my service was slowing down and when i made a ticket they responded quickly and found the problem.
Their prices are competitive and their constantly getting new servers, I’m glad i found them.
Hi, does anybody know how to get those vservers reachable from the internet? – I ordered mine some weeks ago, but still have problems reaching it from some locations. If I try to reach my IP via just-ping.com it tells me around 25 locations with 100% packet loss.
The IP of my vhost is 46.105.166.27. The host is in default installation, and I’ve tried to reinstall it with Debian and Fedora for quite a few times, but that changes nothing.
Ken @support was not helpful until now; he can ping the host from @home and says it is my configuration. I did not configure ANYthing. Just took the default setup. Outgoing pings work well. Incoming only from some locations. In hosts.deny is nothing listed, fail2ban is not installed. Anybody here who can tell me how to make that VServer reachable after having ordered or reinstalled it?
I’ve tried to ping your IP from two different locations. 100% package lost.
Had you checked your control panel for the server status? Make sure the server is up first. And then try to connect to your server through serial console within control panel. Make sure there is no firewall rules or others blocks you out.
Dan, as far as I can tell, another vps on the same host (ip .25) is reachable just fine as is the host itself (ks212831.kimsufi.com) so I don’t know what is wrong with your vps but certainly something is amiss somewhere.. the other tools from watchmouse.com show that some locations can’t reach you indeed.
It should just work. You shouldn’t need to do anything to ‘make them reachable’.
The fact that it doesn’t work from some locations, is purely your upstream’s fault, i.e. either OVH or UP2VPS.
I can confirm the IP is accessible from one location, but not from another. Traceroutes differ a bit. I can’t seem to post those because of a spam filter or something.
My wild guess would be that OVH has some sort of load balancing in place, maybe based on sourcedestination IP pair, and it is misconfigured, so for some source IPs it sends the packets down the wrong route (to a wrong dedicated server, as we can see from the kimsufi.com rDNS hop).
* not UP2VPS but UptimeVPS.
Thank you for your messages!
In the meanwhile, UptimeVPS support proposed to install a different operating system. I did that but the situation remains the same.
@openlab: Thank you for testing! Well, the server is up, that’s for sure. Connecting via the serial works. There is no firewall, no hosts.deny entries. It’s just the plain default installation.
@justmoi: Thank you too, this is a valuable information. So it seems as if something is wrong especially with my server. It could be an option for UptimeVPS to give me just another one.
@rm: you are absolutely right. I have some traceroutes that end at ks212791.kimsufi.com (188.165.222.147), and others that end before, at vss-3-6k.fr.eu (94.23.122.237). Those that pass through go through vss-3-6k.fr.eu and to ks212831.kimsufi.com (188.165.223.40) which is a completely different host. The hoster kept telling me that it’s a vhost configuration issue and my server is unmanaged, although I’ve sent him the complete traceroutes yesterday in the evening … let’s see what’s his next proposal. Maybe they just have some misconfiguration on their site and need some time to figure it out.
Thank you again for your help!
@Dan
There is no way these symptomps could be caused by any configuration or misconfiguration inside the VPS, most likely there’s an issue with an upstream router. You can try sending complete details and full explanation of the issue you have directly to https://www.ovh.co.uk/ , but since you are not a customer of theirs, they are free to ignore you.
From your description of how UptimeVPS is handling this, being shown those traceroutes and still not understanding that they need to raise it with Ovh, shows a lack of competence and desire to b/s the customer instead of solving actual problems.
I suggest just changing to a different provider and requesting a refund if you can from this one.

Ask an IP change and you will have fixed your problem. Ken will have to deal with the issue by contacting OVH or discard this IP.. OVH have antiDDoS protections that sometimes trigger for no obvious reason (thresholds needing tweaks).
Hi, thank you again for your help!
I’ve asked for an IP change. I got a new IP, but the server did not startup anymore. Then they fixed the vserver, but reset the Ip to the old one again, so the vserver ran but was not reachable anymore.
Finally they shifted me to another datacenter location yesterday, and since then it works very well.
Have a nice weekend altogether!
Well paypal is no longer a payment option… lost a lot of brownie points just then guys…. a lot.
And paypal is back, :) back to being happy.
One thing is for sure – “Setup within 1 hour” is definitely not correct. ;)
WARNING!!
DO NOT BUY FROM UPTIMEVPS!
I have 4 PayPal complaints open with them atm. I had just ordered 2 VPS yearly payment and renewed 1 VPS I paid per month to “quaterly” yesterday; Almost 100 Euros!
The name on the PayPal is different then 1 month ago and the emails to support@uptimevps.co (and.com) are now bouncing back!
I will provide screenshots and more information shortly, just wanted to let you and some other places know first.
DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY!!
Are you just generally stupid? They have already said they where moving to .co publically.
Fools like you make no sense.
And that surprises you, Daniel?
Although the emails bouncing are a concern….
It is not about bouncing emails. I found today that my VPS had been suspended and also I have no access to the client area anymore. The reason for the suspension was “non payment” with a due date of 00/00/0000. I just yesterday extended my already paid month for another 4 months, thus changing my payment to quaterly. At the same time I also ordered and pre-paid 2 more VPS of which one was pre=paid for a full year. I sent them almost 100 Euros per PayPal and as a result, not even one day later, I get suspended and the VPS I use switched off. On that VPS resides one domain with a site I am currently developing i.e. there is no possible scenario for any other reason of my suspension then pure neglegence or fraud on their end.
Excuse me sir, but you have no right to insult me publicly. We have never done business together and you are not a friend or family member. You have no grounds or merit, to address in me in such a manner and I hereby kindly ask you to cease and desist.
Update: I have been refunded in full.
They started selling Netherlands nodes as well.I bought one 5 days ago, they are charging me money like I use it, but actually, it hasn’t been activated yet.Strange things going on.
Also, when I paid money via paypal, it was paid to this email: payment@legrafc.com ??? Web site of some soccer team.Weird!!
If Ken is reading this – Please activate Netherlands nodes or refund the money so we can buy some other service instead. Thanx
Hi,
Still pushing the NL setup, sorry for the delay. Customers are being kept informed, please submit a ticket if there is a problem.
You have had plenty of time to get IPs, whats the matter? they arent giving you more than 30 per server like
VMPort said?
I think it is time you start mass refunding all the suckers like me that ordered an NL vps from you.
This is hilarious!!Almost 2 weeks after I paid for Netherlands VPS and still nothing.
They promised to setup some temporary service until their server becomes active, but nothing happened since then.Hopefully, they will refund the money as expected. If not, pay pal will do it instead.

Cancell .nl service and provide them paypal transaction ID
Please do not give your money to this host – They took my money for a VPS they never provided and wouldn’t
give it back.
I’m currently considering my options via paypal. I’m probably going to file a dispute and I recommend everyone
else do the same.
They seem to be gone!
1) Website offline
2) VPS Nodes offline
3) SolusVM offline
4) No reply on support (twitter / msn)
My german server is still running but thats basicly all! i have no control anymore over the servers
to see traffic or reinstall the server, creating a backup.
I would not prefer anyone to deal with this hosting since its a big scam.
Marc
well my vps germany expires this week so i not bothered but they where a big scam they kept doing deals to get much money as possible
I have posted a big comment about my experience of using VPS by this company, please look at the different thread http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/uptimevps-e3-1gb-openvz-vps-in-scranton-france-or-germany/#comment-54582
They have gone off-site retreat.
Unfortunately my information on my website.

มันเป็น vps ที่เลว
So, the scammer sonofa… is still alive.
I tried to fill a complaint, but got closed automatically. Called Paypal and they said that if enough persons claim the same seller that they would investigate the case, and maybe get the money back.
So if you got ripped by UptimeVPS and by paypal make a claim and maybe we’ll get lucky
How do you call Paypal? I tried reopen a dispute they closed and couldn’t find any other contact details on their website.
Do these companies deliberately keep contact details off their websites?
Probably: Contact Us (see footer) -> Call Us -> paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_contact-phone
@rchurch
Yep i think that’s the idea :P
