Shubham “Sam” from BassHost emailed me that they have recently updated their LowEndBox VPS plans. Actually quite a few things have changed since the last time they were featured. Gone is the racy image on the front page and that 4% “PP Tax” at the checkout page. Oh, higher-spec’ed VPS too. “VPS2” — usually $10/month with 2x IPv4 is now $7/month with just 1 IP for LowEndBox fans only. Direct sign up link here.
- 512MB memory
- 50GB storage
- 500GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Payment is PayPal only. IPv6 available on request. Servers with Comfluent in Denver CO (test IP: 76.73.42.253). They were known as Host Zune and Rush Host before, and Shubham and Todd, two of the founders there, decided to merge the operation to form BassHost (see Sam’s little intro here).
No burstable memory from what I can see. They are also doing 4-drive RAID10 on their boxes, which are mostly single/dual quad-core Xeons.

Hey there, I want to thank you for posting this for us! We really appreciate it! :D
Thanks for the post. We appreciate it.
Thanks for removing the tits. If I wanted stuff like that, I’d be a GoDaddy diehard.
Haha no problem drmike. Positive input will be listened at anytime.
can i use this vps for VPN?
Yes, you can use the VPS’s for VPN’s. :)
basshost.com is a great service! I received this $7/month deal and have loved the service so far and am planning to migrate a lot of my services to it. The staff is really professional and quick to respond to any questions or issues that you have and unlike a lot of providers, they don’t put up smoke and mirrors when something goes wrong but rather let you know when stuff is down and what happened.
Thanks for writing a review about our service.
Why is it that companies can lie about where their servers are located? Comfluent building is worlds apart from FDCServers, where they have the servers hosted. No generators, no APC, no redundant cooling, no redundant network, Single point of failure on a single overloaded cisco switch… Why can’t basshost be honest? They even have this false information filling their about pages, take them with a grain of salt, they aren’t even honest to begin with. A simple check on the IP would prove this.
Hi steve,
Our servers are located in Denver, in Comfluent’s datacenter (639 E. 18th Ave., Suite 160 (at Washington St.)
Denver, CO 80203). However, the company we get our servers from is FDCServers, which is located in 141 W Jackson blvd #1135, Chicago, IL 60604.
See as was explained to us, as we had the same questions… The IP’s that FDC has been allocated are geolocated in Illinois. However, they have some of them actually being networked to Comfluent’s datacenter in Denver. (So the test IP IS IN DENVER but is geolocated.)
We contacted both Comfluent and FDCServers to verify, in case one sales person was wrong, the features that they have in place… The response from both of them are the same…
They do not have redundant power, however, they DO HAVE GENERATORS.
Proper and adequate cooling is in place with HVAC.
They “have tens of techs working 24 / 7.”
Backbone (100GB? 10GB? etc..) For this we were directed to their page: http://fdcservers.net/network.php for more information on their network and how it is laid out.
As regarding our honesty, we have been honest to our fullest extent. When we first called FDCServers before we started a relationship with them, we talked about similar things to make sure that we were going to be in good hands.
However, it seems that we had been misinformed. Due to that, we will be editing our About page, to reflect the true facts of the DC that we are in.
Besides that, what do you have against Bass Host, Steve? We did nothing wrong to you… Are you a client of ours?
Steve we are located in a Comfluent building. You can verify that by contacting both FDC and Comfluent. It is unfortunate that we were told the datacenter had redundant power. We did accidentally miss guide people with saying redundant power … however there are generators in place if something goes wrong.
FDCServers Denver Datacenter is located on 1500 Champa St. Denver, CO. They have fiber laid to comfluent, as indicated on http://www.fdcservers.net/images/networkmap-oct2011.jpg They are using comfluent to peer with other networks, and piping it to their own facilities, which last I checked was not using a generator, a redundant network, or anything else like that. All you have to do is be a colo customer to verify that. Now considering they were a provider for my servers for months, I feel compelled to let you know not to let your reputation ride on them.
That’s fine to let us know that. However, there was no need to go and attack us like that.
We have contacted both FDC and Comfluent and they both said that the DC had backup generators…. Whether that is the “real” facility that we are in or not, we can only go by what they have told us.
We appreciate the tip for not letting our reputation ride on it, but I think we would all appreciate if you didn’t attack us out of no where.
Thanks again for the tip.
Attack you out of nowhere? Do you even hear what you are saying? You have no idea about the location your servers are in at all? How can your company speak highly of a facility that is not hosting your servers? I don’t like the providers that hide their true network, and to be honest, you are hyping up something that you have not even seen with your own eyes. Sometimes going by what your being told isn’t going to work, because if I were to do that, I would be trusting that you were actually located in the comfluent building, and that your actually using a decent power and network infrastructure. I can do further research, but the damage is done. I can guarantee that you are not using comfluent. Your damaging your own reputation with your comments:
As posted on your about page:
Bass Host has chosen Comfluent Denver to be its exclusive data center and network provider. Bass Host’s long standing relationship with Comfluent allows Bass Host customers to utilize one of the world’s best networks to power their web sites and ensure maximum uptime. Comfluent’s world-class datacenters feature state of the art security, power, safety, and cooling systems – all designed to ensure that service remains uninterrupted.
But you state here in these comments:
As regarding our honesty, we have been honest to our fullest extent. When we first called FDCServers before we started a relationship with them, we talked about similar things to make sure that we were going to be in good hands.
These seem to conflict. Why contact FDC to start a relationship with them if comfluent is your exclusive datacenter and network provider? Or is it that you are not wanting to post FDCServers as your provider? Either way, I have uncovered something that has obviously struck a sour note with you, or else you wouldn’t be so defensive, and feeling attacked.
I have not lied about any of this, so if hearing the truth is attacking you, then so be it.
Lets just ignore what todd has to say. As per Comfluent they own and operate the data center(1500 Champa St. Denver, CO) in which FDCservers operate. FDCServers is simply reselling Comfluent’s services to us. It is just the same thing as a car dealership … just because you bought your car from fitzgerald it does not mean that you own a “fitzgerald” … you still own a Honda.
“Bass Host has chosen Comfluent Denver to be its exclusive data center and network provider.” This is 100 percent true. Everything is from Comfluent. FDC just is there for support. For example recently one of our servers had a hard drive failure. We hit them up and they recovered the raid array and data within 24 hours.
All the nice features like back up generators, security, HVAC, redundant bandwidth backbone and more is still given to us. To me it looks like you have had bad experience with FDC … which is not the same for us.
Denver will no longer be our main area due to reasons I can not discuss with you. Kansas City location should be ready to go by the end of the week and Los Angeles our new headquarters by spring 2012.
Please ignore Todd he feels attacked if I tell him his shoes does not go well with is shirt.
Well then I guess comfluent is wrong too, they do not own the datacenter at 1500 Champa,
http://www.morganreed.com/1500_champa.html
It is a building with multiple tenants, and comfluent has nothing but a pop located in that building. Comfluent does not maintain the power or network infrastructure that FDCServers has. FDCServers is not just there for support, they lease space from the building owner (NOT COMFLUENT), they provide the network infrastructure, the power, everything. I have seen it with my own eyes. I have been a colocation customer with FDC before moving to another provider in Denver. I have been around the block a few times, and your downright being dishonest with your information.
Are goal is not to be dishonest with our customers. As per comfluent “FDC Servers leases space and bandwidth” from comfluent. That is what they told us … so that is what we tell people.
Could you add me on gtalk me(@)sranjan(dot)com. Maybe we can discuss somethings privately since you seem local to the denver area. I have some questions about your experience and maybe you can shed some more knowledge on us.
